Great restaurant. Owner was super nice and explained all dishes. If you want to go somewhere right off Las Olas and eat great food, either NY style pizza with great crust and sauce or have some sushi all in one place, where else you going to go. I am from out of state but definitely would come back.

Really cool spot, helps that it’s attached to the building I live in, great pizza and sushi and super convenient.

First time visiting this restaurant. Came because of a Groupon offer, definitely will be back. The décor was nicely done with a bit industrial mixed with chic red, white, and black. The margharita pizza was delicious the sauce being the star with the fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and the crispy thin crust as the amazing supporting stars. We also had the red kryptonite roll which was fresh and tasty. Ana the server was very attentive and friendly. A little off the beaten path from Las Olas but definitely worth trying. There is parking spaces allocated to the restaurant within the apartment complex.

Amazing! The sushi was delicious and fresh. R&D roll is by far one of the best rolls of life. Pizza was great.

You wouldn’t think pizza and sushi go together, but at the same time… Totally does. I’m pretty picky about my pizza. Rice and Dough’s is pretty darn good; very thin New York style. The staff is always accommodating and smiling. I love seeing the owner working with his employees for he has a true passion for his restaurant. Cute ambiance too, makes you want wine!

This is probably some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Though, I haven’t been to pizza places in New York, I’ve had pizza in the top-rated places in Philadelphia, a place where pizza can be just as good as New York. The pizza was ultra thin and crispy. It was hot, gooey and fresh. The toppings were fresh and complimented each other greatly(I’ve had the prosciutto, tartufo, and pancetta pizzas). Roll in on a Saturday afternoon and get the $ 3.00 bloody marys. They are delicious, hand-crafted bloody marys. The sushi was very tasty and fresh, but the real attraction here is the pizza. Lastly, the service is amazing. The owner, Goran, is incredibly nice. He will not allow you to serve yourself a slice of your own pizza, opting instead to serve it himself. Absolutely an excellent, top-notch place.

I apologize in advance for this review lacking pictures.(I’m sure you can see from all the other reviews how amazing their pizza and sushi options are!) My partner and I have visited this location twice prior to my most recent visit on the 28th, and have enjoyed their food and service every time. This past Wednesday, for my partner’s birthday, I decided to stage a surprise dinner at this location with 14 other guests. Now, the location is relatively small, but for the staff to easily coordinate this with me in the week prior was extremely generous. Every time I called to either update or verify the reservation, I spoke to a different employee. Every single time, these employees were courteous and a pleasure to speak to. The night of the actual reservation, there were no issues, the server was an extremely knowledgeable guy, made recommendations, even knew all the different liquor options for 2 – 3 different types. We ordered a variety of rolls, and some smaller Italian dishes, and a couple of the 4 cheese pizza’s, which were all made to order, fresh, hot, and delicious! The owner himself checked on our party multiple times throughout the night and thanked each of us individually for coming in and spending the night with them. Even remembered myself from the last 2 visits we made months ago. All in all, it’s not often these days that you come across such a cozy, friendly location as Rice & Dough, especially when they are minutes across the street from Las Olas, which seem to be packed with over priced mediocre quality restaurants. I also feel as though it’s not often that a team of staff are praised solely based off their service. So here’s to you, Rice & Dough, for not only providing outstanding food selections and quality, but for the genuine and honest sincerity you show as a team to represent your establishment, and the amount of gratitude you show to a customer who may not always have been a frequent regular, but is now because of it! All 14 of us will DEFINITELY be returning soon for awesome sushi and pizza and drinks!

Good stuff, had the Ikura, R&B roll with Crab, asparagus, cream cheese and scallions flash tempura fried with spicy tuna on top with jalapeño, chef special sauce, crispy rice noodles and masago. Very Good! My wife had turkey panini, she said it was OK. I would try their pizza, will be back.

Ordered takeout and was pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend and I couldnt decide what to do for dinner, so we ordered from here because they have pizza AND sushi. No need to decide! The idea of a pizza /sushi place sounds awesome in theory, but part of me was worried imagining a pizza chef making my sushi, or a sushi chef making my pizza. We split a margarita pie and a spicy tuna roll — just the basics to test the waters at a new restaurant. Sushi was fresh and good. Takeout sushi is obviously never as good as dine-in, but considering that it was still great by the time I got it home. Just a basic roll, so I can’t speak to how more complex stuff tastes. Pizza was great. There are some pretty crappy pizza spots in the area — this is definitely one of the good ones. Pizza was a little cool by the time I drove it home and ate the sushi, but that’s my fault, not theirs, lol. Nothing the toaster oven couldn’t fix. All in all, I’ll definitely be back here. It’s awesome if you’re indecisive like me, and I bet it’d be really fun for groups since the pizza/sushi combo will probably make everyone happy.

The place seems to be going down a bit from our earlier visits. With the owner gone, the help doesn’t seem to pay attention to details. Burned bottoms on the pizza is not acceptable. Overcompensation with too much cheese is fine for the folks who don’t really know good NY pizza, but not to those who really care about getting a great taste of home(NYC). The dough is great but if you continue to slide on the details you once cared about, we will not keep coming. Too many other choices are available. Although we understand everyone needs time off, it’s important for an owner to understand that trained help is the key to success. If they can’t do the job as well as you, keep training. When there’s an issue, make it right, evaluate and prevent from re-occurring !

This is a great downtown location close to parking and walking distance from many offices. Hubby and I went on a Wednesday night and it was empty. We sat in a comfy corner by the window. Our order consisted of both sushi and the four cheese pizza. This is some of the best pizza I’ve had in south Florida. Hubby enjoyed the sushi, so that’s another plus. There were only two things that need improvement. Considering there was only us and a quiet family, the music inside was a bit loud which may have contributed to my second issue. We ordered dessert to go and it arrived on a plate. I’m assuming the waiter didn’t hear«to go» over the music. We ended up enjoying our cannoli there.

OUTSTANDING! My friend and I couldn’t decide what we wanted so we decided on this place, and thank goodness! Sushi AND pizza! The service was amazing, very genuine and friendly. I know this is a weird thing to review about but the temperature of the place was perfect. I was wearing a top with skinny straps and I wasn’t too hot or cold, I hate it when restaurants turn up the AC. This place was very comfortable. We ordered the Bianca Pizza, it has eggplant on every slice… let. me. tell. you… this pizza was so good my eyes got watery. It was perfect, I don’t think I’ve ever had pizza like this in south Florida. We also ordered the Dolphins roll which has this avocado cream on top, so fresh and delicious and flavorful. Perfect meal, thanks Rice and Dough!

I like the menu variety of this place, but I personally would not recommend the sushi. I got super sick right after I ate a whole sashimi platter. My coworkers didn’t get sick but no one else got raw fish like I did. I also hate walking out of a restaurant smelling like oil and grease and food, as if I walked out of an ihop, especially if I have to work for a couple more hours. No thanks.

Amazing food! Where else can you have Pizza, Sushi and Serbian Favorite Chevapi. Tennis game is on, watching finals, house music playing in background.

I stopped by here with a bunch of friends after a party in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I figured with a wide-variety menu like this, it would satisfy everyone’s cravings. I glanced at the menu for their vegetarian options. They had a few good selections. I ended up ordering a pizza. It was good. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals too. One of our friends got the eggplant dish. That was wayyy better than the pizza that I ordered. If I ever came back here, I would order that next time. The place wasn’t bad or anything. It was just okay.

Sushi and pizza are you CRAYCRAY?(do people still say that, probably not) well the combo is actually out of this world! We have been here at least 3 times and each time was great. The 1st time I was very skeptical but we had a groupon and in turn not much to lose. Well we fell in love. We always get the same thing the Margherita pizza ad the red kryptonite roll(similar to a spicy tuna roll). The combo of having a slice of pizza and then following it up with a bite of sushi sounds weird and gross and bizarre but the flavor profiles really work. And rice and dough really executes both sushi and pizza amazingly. Service is always great and it’s super close to the Las olas action but still tucked away where it’s not overly crazy with people. It’s worth a visit weather you love pizza or sushi they will surprise you with their awesomness.

Usually when someones has rolls with their pizza you think garlic rolls. Na, not here. Here they are sushi rolls. Pizza and sushi? YES — it works. It’s as if the owner went into my mind to find out what my two favorite foods were and decided to make an entire menu with creative twists on those(if he had added tacos, I would put him in my will!). I came in for a later lunch and while the place was fairly empty, there were still a couple other tables. The décor is nice, clean and welcoming. After looking through some pics on Unilocal we decided on the Volcano Roll to start. The presentations here are ridiculous — and the flavors are up to par! Usually Volcano rolls come with a seafood mix on top that is good, but here… it comes with HUGE chunks for crab and fish, in a creamy sauce. It was delicious. The roll is also huge, so keep in mind when ordering — you are getting a lot per roll. We then went to the pizzas. We got a half sausage and half 4 Cheese(mozzarella, scamorza, parmesan, provolone, tomato). WHOA. Delicious! Once again pretty large pizza and we took about half of it to go. The service was super quick and our server was extremely nice. She was always smiling, refilled water promptly, came by the right amount of times to see if all was ok and all around had a fantastic personality. I parked in the garage off to the side — there were about 4 spots designated for Rice & Dough. I’m not sure if those are for employees or guests, but I parked there — and my car was there when I got back, so it’s all good. I’ll be back soon to try more rolls — and pizza!

I’ve been here for an UYE organized by my buddy Michael C, and enjoyed their pasta dishes. Since I was back in the hood for The Unilocalies, I was happy that a couple of other Unilocalers picked this spot for the after dinner. Heck, Allen, Tamela and I decided to undertake the long walk from Stache to here. The best way to describe the food at Rice & Dough, then, is a formal friend’s living room, where you munch on fusion-meets-comfort food. Service is casual, maybe a little leisurely and you shouldn’t get too loud. But you will get nicely seasoned food(whether you’re into Italian, Sushi or Greek) and a decent glass of merlot. Foodwise, I went again for my favorite marinara pizza with plenty of tomato sauce and it didn’t disappoint. The seasoned garlic and EVOO played nicely with the tomato sauce to make my belly — and the other Unilocalers I shared it with — happy. Their regular cheese pizza wasn’t bad either. My merlot was nice and earthy, and the pour was generous. This time I was also able to enjoy a nice and crunchy baklava with a honey drizzle. Yum! Kudos goes to the crew for accommodating our expanding dining group and for the 10% Unilocal Check-In discount.

Over a year ago, my wife and I found this place on the way to Las Olas, after we took a left turn on SE2nd street out of curiosity to see what was there. A couple blocks down we saw Rice and Dough, which also said«Wine Bar», and it immediately caught our attention, mostly because, being from Chicago, it looked like one of those places tucked away on a quiet street just a block away from the hustle and bustle of where all the main restaurants and bars are, with crowds of people. The restaurant is situated right on a «neighborhood» corner, right next to the Camdem Apartments. The entrance is quite inviting, with outdoor seating and umbrellas as you walk up the stairs to go into the restaurant. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the owner, Goran Perovic, and his wife, Amy. They were so inviting, like we were going for dinner at a friend’s house. In fact every time we go to Rice and Dough, we get the same greeting. Turns out Goran is not only the owner, he is one of the hardest working chefs I ever met, as he works very long days and it is he who takes pride in rolling around in the«dough», chopping, cutting and making the freshest and most creative pizza’s we ever had in South Florida. When you walk in you can see him behind the glass working his way from the pizza prep area, to the pizza oven and back. So that is that is the«Dough» part of the equation. The«Rice» part of the equation is the freshest, beautiful Sushi creations I have ever experienced anywhere. Normally when we go there we order the Red Kryptonite Roll, which consists of Spicy Tuna, cream cheese, asparagus, avocado and tempura flakes. The presentation of their sushi, although it is tempting not to destroy the beauty of the dish by taking your first bite, makes your mouth water to take that first bite. Amazing and orgasmic. Oh, they do have an Orgasm Roll, which looks amazing. Back to the pizza’s, although we have tried quite a few of the pizzas, I highly recommend their Tartufo, which is a 3 mushroom pizza, with fontina cheese, topped with black truffle and finished off with 2 eggs. The black truffle really makes this pizza unusually tasty, and if you are with 4 people, they only put 2 eggs on the pizza, and although the pizza’s are extremely large, it is the 2 eggs that you may have to fight over. Since we have started coming here, Goran has added some incredible dishes to the menu, including their house specialty, their American Kobe Meatballs with San Marzano tomato sauce and fresh ricotta cheese, also served with their signature chiabatta bread which they serve with many of their side dishes. The chiabatta bread is sliced and lightly toasted on both sides. Rice and Dough has a great selection of wines, from all different parts of the world and they never select the same wines, but when Goran likes something he will recommend it if you ask for a good recommendation. They also have a great selection of beers, also non domestic as well. If you are a wino and want to decant a good bottle of wine, check out their self serving wine decanter with a spigot on the bottom to fill your glass right on your table. The atmosphere here makes this place FUN to come to, and reflects the owners’ character; casual, unpretentious and relaxing. The tables are set apart so people are not on top of each other and the friendly staff will arrange the tables, depending on the size of your party. Nothing«set in stone» here. The cushioned chairs are so comfortable, you can just sit back and relax. They have 4 Direct TV’s and all the major sporting events are always on. Football season is big at Rice and Dough and hanging out there for Saturday and Sunday games is a blast. Want to watch a game of your choice, just ask, they will put on whatever you want to watch. We have watched a few Monday Night Football games there. The bar is really great as well, wrapped around the sushi and side dish prep area, with a TV there as well. Their is a fun late night crowd and different scheduled entertainment evenings that you can find on their website. They have had Wednesday night Karaōke, DJ’s and music events. Have to check their website, .for events and great specials. They do run great specials including all you can eat sushi rolls on Monday nights for 15.95, $ 30.00 per person 3 course dinner with a bottle of house wine, and 50% off house wine bottles. Oh, they have Sake, yes, there is a special 2 for 1 on Wednesday nights as well. Also check for Groupon deals. If you get their early enough, they do have 6 parking places in the garage under the Camdem Apartments, you can see their logo marked for their spaces. So, if it is gourmet pizza you like, great Italian dishes, salads, and fantastic fresh sushi, this is the place. You can relax here inside or at their outside seating area. Make yourself at home and enjoy the friendly staff and casual atmosphere. Enjoy the game.
