I travel a bunch for work and always look for a new place to enjoy a burrito. I have had some amazing burritos at places like San Diego and Las Vegas, but also some places in the Midwest where you wouldn’t think are traditional mexican food places. On a recent trip this place was close and had good reviews, so I was excited to check it out. Nice people behind the counter and it was pretty empty for a late lunch. I ordered a burrito with everything except tomatoes. My plate came with a giant pile of tomatoes. The sauce bar looked good as I was walking up to it, but it had fruit flies all over it. I wanted some sliced jalapeños, but didn’t because of all the flies. I did get some of the verde sauce. The burrito was kind of bland. It was ok, but I was hoping for more flavor from the meat. The verde sauce was bland as well. More cilantro would have given it more depth. My bill was over 13 bucks which is on the high side for what I am used to, but it might be typical for the area. I would go back if I were local to give it another chance, but if the experience would be the same, I would never go back after that.

Loved the food and also 3 – 7 is happy hour everyday. We didn’t know but the owner quickly fixed the situation and sent us a 2nd round of drinks!

We were just lamenting the lack of decent Mexican food here when we found this place. I’m ecstatic. Fast casual, nothing fancy. Just real food prepared authentically. Born in VZ, I’ve been eating Latin food my whole life, so I was very interested to try this Mexican food with Venezuelan twist. We had fish tacos and the mani mani was grilled with just a hint of char– served on handmade Corn tortillas with quac’ and all the other fixings, they were excellent. A plate of three was too much for one person to eat. We also had a «Monterey mix» the burrito was huge and very nicely prepared with black beans, rice, cilantro, grilled chicken… all the good stuff. The carnitas in the taco was delicious. The Tostones were a little dry but all the better to soak up som delicious tamarind salsa. Again, this Plate was too much for one person. The place was very clean and being tidied continually. Table s were wiped down etc… If you like Mexican food, bring your appetite.

No major complaints this visit. Brief wait for service at the front counter. Fajitas were piping hot, an impressive steaming display. There were NO paper napkins available in the restaurant at all – not too sanitary for dine-in guests. The workers appeared engaged in an intense conversation(not in my native language, so I couldn’t tell about what. Maybe they were discussing who would go next door to CVS and buy a temporary supply of paper napkins?

Lately Salsa Fiesta has been my go-to lunch spot since my office has moved downtown. And for good reason– the prices are reasonable, the food is good, and the service is great. If you come at lunch you’ll wait in line to order. Come at dinner and you have a waiter who serves you. Honestly, I can do without the server, but sometimes it is a nice added touch. For an appetizer I always go with the tortilla soup. It comes out piping hot and has a nice kick to it. Garnished with tortilla strips and it’s a good start to your meal. Typically I get the tostones with chicken. I’m not a fan of plantains typically, but anything twice fried is ok by me. It’s piled high with tons of guac, salsa, beans, sour cream and of course– your choice of meat. I finish it barely but am always stuffed. It’s a great place for lunch and happy hour. Every day from 3 – 7 is happy hour with specials on drinks and apps. They could turn down the music a bit there to make it easier to talk to your friend or date, but other than that I’m definitely a fan!

I love this place. Food is great, it has many options, and price is reasonable. I also like that offer margaritas, and beer. My kids love the Guva with cheese appetizers.

This is in a nice spot on Federal and Broward. I wish I could be more complimentary because I really like Mexican food, but this place is not special in any way. The Chips and Guacamole was good. The entrees, Zocola Torta and the Tostones, were so-so. Food was salty and nondescript; that is, all the food tastes the same. Perhaps if they would use less salt and fresher ingredients it would help. As far as décor it was nice. The music was cool. I was a little taken aback that they were decorating the restaurant with pennants(for Cinco de Mayo) during dinner hour but then the place was empty except for us and the staff. The staff was friendly and attentive. A few tweaks with the menu would probably turn this place around and make it awesome.

Meh. I had three tacos using the different meats and three of the four different taco style options. Portions of meat in the tacos were small. The combos of ingredients weren’t well-executed in my opinion. Chips were decent. The hibiscus(Jamaican) Agua fresca was good.

We had some time to grab lunch before catching flights and wanted Mexican food and lo and behold Unilocal recommended Salsa Fiesta and thanks to the yummy pictures we were sold. This was a bit on the chain side but still pretty good and being from California where there’s some REALLY good Mexican food Salsa Fiesta wasn’t too bad. We ordered the fajitas, carnitas taco, chicken taco, chips and salsa, guacamole and the tortilla soup, no one had any complaints, however, the chicken in the chicken tacos were nothing to write home about.

This place is so good!!! I need this in Detroit, like now! Super busy at lunch time and the parking lot is a nightmare but well worth the wait. We came back the next day because it was just that good. During my visits I tried the mero macho tacos on soft corn tortillas with chicken, fish and carnitas. My favorite was the chicken followed by the carnitas. This chicken was so juicy and flavorful not the least bit dry. The tacos had the perfect amount of cheese, beans and lettuce. The salsa bar allows you to add whichever salsas and extras you would like. The verde salsa was my favorite. They even had some spicy cabbage that looked awesome but I didn’t try. I was eyeing up other food and the bowls look really good as does the nachos. And I’d love to try the tortilla soup. Man I wish I had this place at home!

The first time I came to this restaurant I honestly thought it was awesome, everybody in there was upbeat, the food was great, there was music, it was full. You could tell they were really hitting it off. Then as I kept going(say about 4 more times) the customer service was not the same, it kept getting worse each time. Last week I ordered a fish taco and it had more coleslaw than anything else, which was a little disappointing but I would still keep going cause they offer other plates that are very very good, and maybe that fish taco wasn’t meant for me that day. I would say the employees need a little more customer service skills… Not using their phones when there’s food waiting to be served for example. IDK it just doesn’t have that professional vibe. It’s weird too cause I know this is not a high end restaurant at all but there should still be a set of standards. I would suggest the owner sends in mystery shoppers, pretty sure they would get what I mean. BUT if you’re going to get some food and get going, definitely give this place a try! That plate of tostones with the beans, cheese, chicken, avocado, and other stuff on top is the bomb.

Good food, poor service. After being served a rubbed band in my last meal here, I was hesitant to come back. The management contacted me and offered a free meal to make up for it. I came in last night to take them up on that. I ordered a basic steak burrito and a bottled soda. I asked for a cup of water. Never got it. Ordering my meal was a hassle to say the least. They seemed to not want me to eat at a table as it was near closing time. They took my order at the counter before deciding that I should give my order to the waitress. Odd but fine. The food came relatively quickly. It tasted good but I still am not a fan of their salsa selections and they do not indicate which salsas are which so it is difficult to know what you are getting. Upon finishing my meal, I had to stand there for about 10 minutes waiting for them to figure out how to comp my meal. They tried to make me pay, insisting the review and response left was for another restaurant or something so I should just pay and figure it out later. All in all I probably will not come back ever again but they don’t deserve the one star review I initially left. Good intentions, not good execution.

The Acapulco salad with fish was delicious. Super fresh and my pick up order was ready within 10 minutes. I ordered the Mayan rolls for dessert too after reading rave reviews on Unilocal but they were honestly just okay. The«fresh cream» is just cool whip and the dulce de leche didn’t taste homemade. It was still an okay dessert overall, I just probably wouldn’t order it again. The salad was on point though and I loved that it was served with fresh tostones… A fun(and delicious!) touch :-)

I stopped by with my wife last Thursday night for a quick take out. I’ve been at this place before and never had a bad experience, they have some of the best Salsas in town, I am Mexican so trust me I’m not exaggerating lol. We decided to order the burrito meal, which is basically a mega burrito with chips, the options for your meat are chicken, stake, or ground beef. We went for the beef burrito. The place is a good looking place, lots of colors on the wall, and cool Mexican decorations around. My only problem was that the lady who took care us, she didn’t seem to be to happy that day and had a grouchy attitude. Place was empty, so probably she wasn’t having a good day. Our burrito came out pretty quick, but sat at the counter for almost 10 min, once again because of the attendant was doing I don’t know what, maybe just walking around, it wasn’t until I asked her if the order on the counter was my order, when she finally putted in the paper bag and gave it to me. The experience wasn’t horrible not I would stop going to this place to have some of their delicious salsas, just a note to the managers or owners to talk to their people and let them know that need to be a little bit more diligent with their customers. I definitely recommend this place.

Although Salsa Fiesta looks like a fast food joint, they do offer table service like a regular restaurant. The walls are filled with Mexican and Mayan artwork. I enjoyed the dishes that were served(this was an OYE). Salsa Fiesta makes all its items fresh on site. That is awesome to know and the chain is family-owned. There is outside seating to the side of the building as well as indoor seating.
There is parking in the lot and cameras are mounted to make sure people are not parking there for free and walking downtown. There may be a 3 hr parking maximum.

I’m in love!!! Fresh, quality ingredients! Beautiful food presentation! The restaurant is very clean. A++++ The only thing I didn’t like is that I was charged almost $ 5 for one extra taco I added to my $ 8.99 taco platter which came with 3 tacos. Also by the time I got to my fourth taco it was so soggy because of the sauce — no problem. I asked for another flour tortilla and they charged me $ 0.54 — I spent $ 20 on lunch — 4 tacos with a small guac, a drink, and on extra flour tortilla.

These assholes. Wth happened with customer service when they ask you wtf you want and do the exact opposite of it? I order nachos and ask for no cheese and ask that the sour cream be exchanged for the cheese in the SAME amount as they’d give the cheese. If they add cheese they put it in a Microwave convection oven which = soggy chips for me. The cashier agrees, add no cheese but I drive all the way home with NOTEVEN close to a dollop of sour cream on my nachos. What’s so hard with just ATTENTIONTODETAIL. 2nd salsa fiesta to pull this shit on me. Thurs Aug 6th, 20155:20PM

Went for lunch on a Monday. They are very quick to fill orders and bring it to your table. You order at the counter. There is a salsa bar with four flavors(tamarind-sweet, verde, cabbage, and traditional salsa) none were spicy to me. There is a self serve drink machine. They also sell beer and margaritas. During HH they offer some drink specials and discounted chips and dip. I ordered the steak nachos for $ 9. It was the perfect size portion and toppings. Well seasoned diced steak, guacamole, sour cream, black beans, shredded cheese, pico de gallo. The cheese should have been melted a little more. Overall, good flavor and I ate them all! Staff checked on me though out my meal. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking in attached lot. I will be back to try the tostones!
