It appears the rumor was true. Unfortunately my favorite go to Thai place is apparently closed. Their phone is disconnected and doors locked during normal business hours over the last few days. They gave no notice and with no sign or information posted at the door, I can only speculate that we have to find a new favorite. I post this with a sad heart and can only hope this is just a brief hiatus for this beloved local gem.

This place has a great selection of food, great service, and the atmosphere in which to enjoy it. It’s my favorite Thai restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Suzi is always ready to greet with a smile and a witty comment. Their peanut dressing is the best I’ve ever had. You must try it!

A dear friend and new work colleague was my guest a few weeks back using a Groupon at a Thai restaurant in Wilton Manors. Much to my dismay the dinner was a disaster due to poor customer service and tepid mediocre food. My poor colleague surrendered scandalization for sympathy and told me she had the best Thai place in town to go to and all we had to do was come one day with her. Today was the day and I was pleased as punch to be the guest! Don’t meals somehow taste just a li’l bit better when someone pays? The other plus is I think she’s been a regular customer here since their inception, everyone from the management to the owner who arrived later knew her on a first name basis; which was great for me because it snagged us a free dessert! Mmmm coconut ice cream with sprinkles surrounded by deep friend banana in a chocolate syrup laced pastry crust… I’ll be going back for that alone! The menu(singular ones for lunch and dinner) is chock full of authentic Thai goodies and I would truly like to try them all.. .. My endearing co-worker treated me to chicken and veggies in a truly velvety unctuous basil sauce that I wish they sold by the bottle; it was good! We also tried both white and brown rice to see how the flavor of both sauce and veggies contrasted and there were definite distinctions — both delicious. I’m anxious to return and I also adored the cute funky little old part of Fort Lauderdale where the restaurant is located; it’s a veritable bee hive of cool stores, consignment shops, bars and other places to eat.

You have to look past the dark windows as you walk in. classic music quiet. Friendly staff. Had curry, I think you can’t go wrong with any order here.

Great food, great prices, keep an eye out for added gratuity. I had a Chinese dish but I did try my friend’s Thai plates.

Perhaps I ordered wrong. My friends all seemed far more delighted with their meals. I recall that, years ago, the food seemed more flavorful. My tofu dish was very bland. Reasonable prices; professional servers, eager to please; ample parking. Blah décor, pathetic beer list. May try again in future, but there are so many new places popping up nearby…

They are the best Thai restaurant in ft laud as far as I’m concerned. Excellent Thai iced tea and their curry is phenomenal! Most people judge a Thai restaurant based on their pad Thai which is also up for any challenge.

Came here with a friend. The atmosphere was astonishing for a strip mall restaurant. Perfectly Zen. Had the sweet red Chile sauce with a great of five. Was the right amount of heat and sweet, was amazingly good.

WONDERFUL! Did the Thai test and went for the ever popular Chicken Pad Thai, NAILEDIT! Not too spicy, not too sweet, nowhere near bland, absolutely lovely. Just the tip: The owner is a mature Thai woman with a vary stern vibe and very sweet comments. Compliments all around from a little Thai lady who you know can probably kick your ass feel nice. Behave yourselves accordingly…

One of my favorite restaurants, been coming here for years. Everything is delicious! Pad Thai, Tom yom soup with tofu and wanton soup are all personal favorites.

My fiancé and I order for take-out on the regular! In fact, it’s a once-a-week addiction! We usually stick to our usual order(myself with the chicken red curry and him with the green curry), but the other menu options should not be ignored! The tom-kha soup(I usually order it with tofu) is mouth watering, and the pad thai is so nommy that it’s sinful. I made the mistake of trying to recreate one of their curries at home… huge fail. Not only did I feel like I was cheating on my Sukho, but it also just was not the same! Like I said, we order here for take-out at least once a week… I think there’s crack in the food… It’s just so freaking good!

I have lived in Southeast Asia for 4 years and have YET found a Thai restaurant that hadn’t Americanized their Thai food offerings. There is so much more to Thai food than Pad Thai noodles. Well that changed when I went here for dinner — it literally brought me back to Thailand and their amazing culture. I ordered all my dishes Thai Spicy which IMO is the only way to really experience Thai food. I started with Tom Kha w/Chicken(Tom Yum with Coconut Milk). The flavors were incredible. My entrée was Thai Red Curry w/Beef over rice. Excellent flavor and the curry was not overpowering… A+ To finish off I had fried bananas with Coconut ice cream — the best dessert from ANY culture :) The wait staff were either 100% Thai or ½ Thai and their open — always smiling friendly culture was on full display. They can suggest the level of spice you can handle but don’t be afraid of ordering your food Thai Spicy — delicious. The service was excellent and had the owner’s wife come over to ask how the meal was going. We ended up talking about my experiences in Thailand for a half hour. I will drive out of my way to visit again. Could not recommend this place higher.

Excellent customer service. Food was decent. Not a bad choice, however nothing really wow out of the extraordinary. But a good choice overall.

I have now been eating at sukhothai for over 10 years and it is still my favorite that restaurant in south Florida. Last night we went for my sisters birthday and everything was sensational. The owners Eddie and Susie are great and treat you like family and always make sure everything is ok. For appetizers we ordered the nam sod, beef satay, oceans soup, and dumplings. All of the appetizers are delicious and it is hard to choose which ones are best. If you are in a group I would recommend getting a few as they are good for sharing. For our main entrees we got 3 chicken and shrimp pad Thais, a chicken red curry, and a basil chicken. As always my favorite dish by far is the chicken and shrimp pad Thai. I have had hundreds and hundreds of pad Thais and this remains to be my favorite one.

The first Thai food I ever ate was from here back in the late 90’s. I was hooked! I’ve been to many other Thai places since, and was fortunate enough to be nearby it the other night about 830PM. We walked in, and were promptly seated by «Mom». Our server promptly greeted us, and took our drink order. Even though I knew what I as going to order(Thai red curry with pork, Thai hot) I still glanced at the menu. All the prices were very reasonable. I ordered my «usual» and my partner ordered Chicken Pad Thai. The portions are HUGE and very flavorful. It’s nice to know after 23 years, they are still family owned, as I am a firm supporter of locally owned businesses. Is the décor outdated? Sure, but I’ll take freshly prepared tasty food over bling any day. And yes, they do NOT do Sushi. if you want Sushi, go to a Sushi restaurant. They do one thing here. Great Thai food.

I like Sukhothai. I don’t love it exactly, but it is close to where I live and when I have a Thai craving I can eat here. The happy hour special is really good — 2 bucks off every food item(apps, entrees, fried rice) and 2 for 1 beer, wine, and sake. It’s also not a cheap happy hour pour, either. Expect a big full glass of house red or white to enjoy. Can’t beat that. Soups: My fiancé swears the Tom Kha soup is out of this world. I recently tried the Thai Noodle Soup with beef and it was awful. I had to ask for fish sauce and spicy red pepper just to finish eating it because the broth was super-bland. That was a huge bummer because Thai beef noodle soup is a go-to for me. Entrees: I can recommend the pork with mixed veggies. The sauce was light but flavorful. The décor could use some updating but I rarely judge Thai places by how they look.
