Pricey tacos and nothing special. Tried this place expecting it to be good. It was just OK. And when I asked for a glass of water with my food, I was told they don’t do that, I would have to pay for a bottle of water if I wanted any. Really ???

I downloaded Unilocal simply so I could rate this joint. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Being the only people in the whole place, the The food took over 20 minutes. They also gave us those type of nachos you make after a long night of irresponsible binge drinking(you know what I’m talking about… tortilla chips with melted shredded cheese on them). On top of that, they also said«not to drink the tap water». I’m not really sure if this was an off night for this place or not, but I do not think I would go back.

Super delicious but admittedly pricey. We shared shrimp and fish tacos. Three each per order and it was about $ 25 — but everything is super fresh and tasty. Definitely worth it for a post-beach lunch but not the place to come if you want to gorge yourself.

Different staff, different quality. Very disappointed with my last visit. I had short ribs quesadillas that for some reason had no flavor, also had the shrimp tacos and surprise: no flavor. If you order something make sure you order their sauces so you can have something with flavor. Don’t think I’m going back there.

Outstanding food!!! EVERYTHING is made to order and fresh!(Including the chips)! This place is the real deal. The steak tacos are lean and very tasty, the guacamole and salsa(both fresh) are outstanding. This restaurant is very casual, you can sit down inside or out. If you want the best and authentic food, this ISTHEPLACE!!!

Ordered steak, fish and pork tacos. The food was 3.5. The steak was probably the best. We were encouraged to order blackened mahi tacos(in the absence of short rib and shrimp, which is what we really wanted) yet we were served the standard fish tacos. Hmmm. The pork had a «different» seasoning than we are used to. I’m still trying to decide if I like it. My husband didn’t. The service was ok. Food is definitely fresh for the most part but who doesn’t have two key ingredients on a Saturday night at 9p??? That was odd and really put us off. These items are highlighted as must haves but… The place closes at 3am. Did they run out early? Or totally out of stock? It wasn’t very clear. I find the place slightly overpriced. Not sure if I’ll return. I can always have amazing tacos for much less at nearby authentic places. Bummer. I thought we had a new great find.

My boyfriend had a Groupon for Taco Grill from a while ago that he forget about so we went last week as he noticed it was going to expire. Little did I know, it was right next to this BBQ place Smoke we recently stumbled upon(awesome too). Randomly a former co-worker, Vania, was the cashier and as usual, she was spunky and friendly with lots of recommendations. We went for fresh guac, grilled mahi tacos & steak tacos. All of which were fresh, tasty & delicious. There was so much mahi in the taco I needed a fork to clean my plate. Also, the fresh hot sauces & salsas were amazing! We will definitely be back.

I also thought this place was just ok and was a bit surprised by the 4.5 star average. It’s a strange set up next to a bar that shares a rather dirty bathroom. Pluses on the food, it’s definitely fresh. Chips were served hot but I found them to have a peppery taste, not that that’s bad just different. Salsas/sauces where not impressive at all. To me real salsa is prepared not from a squeeze bottle. It’s a small place that seats about 20 in a strip mall off of NE32nd Street. Service was friendly and food was served quickly. The whole taste experience felt average and it’s pretty much a what you see is what you get place.

Honestly just«okay» and surprised by the 4.5 average. I ordered the fish tacos that my fellow Unilocalers were raving about, and steak tacos(carne asada). Both were fairly tender(surprisingly the steak more than the fish). The core flavors were good but this is definitely an Americanized shop, and tastes nothing like what you’d find in calle8, Homestead(or even Cali — the heart of taco shops & trucks). The salsas and sauces were rather strange, with one(pico verde I think it was) actually smelling heavily fermented. I stuck to just the pico de gallo and guac-ish that came with them. The other issue is price. 3x steak tacos average taco-truck-sized for $ 10, and fish for $ 12. While its mahi, they weren’t huge portions. It was a little later at night, so maybe some items werent as fresh or had run out, buy 11PM on a Saturday when they’re open till 2AM, no excuses. Nutshell — average tacos for an above-average price.

Awesome food! Fresh food made right in front of you. I had the chicken tacos and they were delicious. Authentic tasting and not smothered in cheese. Co worker had steak burrito. Huge portion and very tasty. Highly recommend this place!

We were watching a football game at the sports bar around the corner, but it was so packed that there was no seating or food to be found even after three quarters of ball. So we headed off in to the neighborhood and let the Unilocalers guide us to good food. As usual, y’all did not disappoint. The tacos and quesadillas were cooked to order and all of the ingredients were obviously very fresh. The food itself garnered a 4-star review(very, very good, but could have used just a little more seasoning), but the service easily pushed it up another star. The staff were very friendly and chatty, offering to bring our food outside when it was done, bringing extra condiments, and cleaning the tables off when we were done. Not at all what we expected from a fast food style taco joint.(Admittedly, the pricing was a few bucks more than I would expect for the portion size but the quality made up for it easily.) New great stop when passing through the neighborhood.

Here at taco grill. My new addition to my taco venture. Place has very good quality meat. Pricing is reasonable. I give this place 4.5 stars. Would come here again. Open very late, great to come here after a few drinks and having taco munchies. Staff was excellent!

My wife got a burrito and loved it! She thought it had yummy flavors. I got pork tacos, not so great. I thought the flavor was kind of strange and pricey for what they were. They were each single tortilla which made them extremely difficult to eat as the kept ripping. Maybe I’m used to CA where the tacos are $ 1.25−2(each), double layered tortillas and stuffed full! Just wasn’t impressed. I did think the salsa was delicious! Maybe I’ll try them again but defiantly not the pork.

Taco Grill is just a small near hole in the wall of a Mexican restaurant with a few sit down tables and counters inside with some sidewalk umbrella tables outside. What sets it apart and why I like it is that the owner, Adora, is super friendly and the food she whips up is about as authentic Mexican as you can get in this area. Matter of fact, you even have your choice between American Coca Cola and the Coca Cola from Mexico. On that count I can say that I really don’t like most of the Mexican restaurants in Lauderdale, especially the chains, as they tend to be more Mex-Tex than Mexican, with menu items such as burritos which are unknown in Mexico. Matter of fact telling a Mexican you’ve eaten burrito might lead him to think you’ve just eaten a burro or a donkey. Besides having a standard printed menu Taco Grill also has a board menu listing various specials of the day. I went for the fried avocado tacos as I had never run across them before. When served there were four of them to my plate, the avocados were the real Mexican avocado which came along with a small bowl of additional salsa type topping. The taste, texture and flavor couldn’t have been better; a real authentic Mexican treat.

Food was great but there are reasons it is not packed all the time when it should be, would have given 5 stars but there were a few things lacking: 1) Atmosphere, energy, there is none the cook barely smiles even when given a compliment on his cooking. He is front and center at all times, the cooking area is the heart of the small restaurant. 2) Very hot and stuffy eating inside, barely tolerable and with a smokey bar next door going outside wasn’t an option at that time. 3) the food was really great, just what you would expect of Mexican street tacos… but the prices are way more than that, it should be more of an al a cart tapas style so people can order multiple types of items like you would in Mexico and the prices should be $ 2 – 3 an item, vs. $ 10 a plate. I think people would order more and they would garner more patrons if the prices were more in line with what one is getting. 4) missing a couple of key side items like Mexican street corn and Horchata. Will go back, but unfortunately not as often as we would like to.

I don’t know… I guess I wanted to like this place more than I did based on the reviews. It’s placed in a strip mall, which is fine, but inside it fell flat. No music playing at all inside and the guy working there seemed annoyed that I even came in(I was the only one there during a normal lunch hour) I ended up ordering the combo special, which featured 1 chicken, 1 pork, 1 beef taco with rice and black beans and your choice of a drink for $ 12.50. The food was ready quickly, and I liked the tacos and especially the rice and beans well enough, but I still felt it was a little overpriced for what it was. For me, a good authentic taco should cost more than $ 2.50 unless you’re paying for the ambiance. Overall, for me I would have rather gone to a more lively location for the price of the tacos. For a quick lunch I didn’t really find anything special or enjoyable about this location.

Best hole in the wall around! We tried the skirt steak, chicken, & the fish tacos. Chicken was good. Skirt steak and Mahi were top notch! He also made the salsa and guacamole fresh. We couldn’t get enough of both! Fresh ingredients, cooked right in front of you, friendly service from the owner/chef himself. If we lived here, we’d be back regularly.

We hit this place on an off night… the oven and microwave were broken. I had a living social voucher that the cashier didn’t know how to validate. Luckily the manager stopped in and assisted her. I ordered nachos, steak tacos, and pork tacos. Since the oven was broken the shredded cheese wasn’t melted in the nachos. They asked if we wanted something else and they would throw nachos away. We decided to eat nachos and asked for free chips, Guac and salsa. They fry the chips fresh and salt them. A side of Guac and chips usually cost $ 6 and salsa is $ 4 or $ 5. Salsa is fresh and tasty and so was Guac. Overall the tacos were tasty but for $ 10 – 13 with no sides and no table service seems VERY expensive. You need to pay the coin parking meter for$ .50 hour. Staff didn’t seem well trained. There are a few tables outside and about five tables inside. Nothing exciting about décor. Not sure how long this place will last since the pricing is so high. They seem to get a lot of business from the bar next door. You have to go next door to get free tap water. I will not be returning when there are better priced places in ft Lauderdale to eat at.
