Stopped in while walking around Fort Lauderdale. Can’t comment on food because we didn’t eat but can say the service for drinks was fast. Price was good. Bartender Lori was very pleasant and kept an eye on glasses with quick fillup. Probably go back there to watch super bowl

Not sure why all the tough reviews… you have to know what you’re walking into with a place like this. Solid Mexican food and decent service. Nice place to grab a buzz and lunch, while relaxing near the ocean.

We often start our evening at ft Lauderdale beach but no more. We ordered 2 jack fire shots and it costs over $ 24 including tip. Way overrated and the shot size was small so very disappointed.

Great spot. Nice breeze through the restaurant on the corner, good food, good view of the beach. Nice spot for people watching! I could easily kill an entire afternoon here.

This place should be called the dishonest taco. They include a «16%» gratuity on the check, but check out our bill. For a 15.95 check they charged us over $ 4 for gratuity. That’s a 25% tip!

Merissa @ the bar was excellent. Tacos were delicious. I’ll go back again. Tacos and Negro Modelo for breakfast should be a new American staple.

Ani is the reason for the 5 stars. Super pleasant and helpful, even let me borrow her phone charger. Patron margaritas didn’t disappoint. Good little spot to come get a couple drinks before your primary destination.

I mean, let’s set the record straight: you either need to come here already a little buzzed, or come here with the expectation that you want to get more buzzed. You’re on FL Beach, it’s probably sunny(or it has just rained), and you need a drink and some passable Tex-Mex food. Grab a seat, preferably outside, relax, and enjoy. You’re not going to be floored by anything here, but there’s no need to set yourself up for disappointment by expecting a high-class or haute-cuisine Mexican food experience. It’s all about the apps and drinks here, folks. The margaritas are fine, and if you’re picky about your type of tequila, just tell your server — they have a healthy-enough tequila selection so that you don’t have to sip Sauza Gold. Plenty of beer selection, but don’t be too proud to order a bucket of Coronas and sip your afternoon away. It’s more fun that way. Nachos are actually really good, taco choices are acceptable, and service is surprisingly better than many of the more chi-chi places on Las Olas. Plus, you can do some good people watching and plan your hop-skip-jump right into the ocean across the street after your meal and imbibing. Also a great spot to chill if you’re waiting to check into one of the area hotels, or are trying to eke out some of the final hours of your FL Beach vacation. I’ve no idea what this place is like after dark, but I can assume it gets pretty silly and maybe even fun, depending on what you have in mind(or your mental age, haha). During the day, it’s definitely a nice(and safe for tourists) spot to chill with some drinks and apps. I think a humorous and very valid review(if you’re looking for another POV from a recent Elite Unilocaler) would be that of Meggan A., from 12/14/2015. Seriously — have fun, order some drinks, take your time, relax, and don’t raise your expectations. It’s all good!

Had amazing food here. Was initially a little worried but sat down with Lori and had an amazing meal and a great atmosphere. Can’t say anything but good things about this place. Amazing rice and beans and I really enjoyed my chicken Baja tacos. My friends enjoyed their tacos and salad. I’ll be back when I return to Ft. Lauderdale!

Stopped in for a snack. Menu is odd for a Mexican food place. Feta on a taco NO !! Wasn’t bad but not great. Went to use restroom and got a look at the kitchen and back area So dirty and gross!!! Had some food left over was going to box it and take it home. But after seeing the filth decided against it. Don’t think I will be going back!!! Clean it up Drunken Taco I would be embarrassed!!!

We will be talking about this place in many future conversations. Tacos is their star attraction, but the apps! Nachos where very good and the wings. We will go back tonight, after went last week. We shall visit on our next return to the city. Good location to people watch and a view of the ocean.

I really think this place is more deserving than a 2.5, but I guess a 2 will suffice. It really wasn’t that bad and I’m a little shocked at how dramatic some of the reviews are. my experience here just didn’t give me that many feels. Granted, we came here four or five mimosas deep(we were waiting for our hotel to let us check in) and ordered two margaritas the size of our heads, but it just wasn’t that bad. The margarita was exactly what you would expect. If you looked at this outdoor tourist trap on the beach selling $ 16 margaritas and expected any sort of well crafted cocktail, well, who’s fault is that? Not theirs. We came buzzed, left hammered, and woke up two hours later with terrible hangovers. I’d say our experience here was pretty spot on, they weren’t pretending to be anything they aren’t, and I can appreciate that.

Well a broke a rule and paid for it — didn’t check Unilocal first but wanted a quick stop in while walking along the beach to have a cold one and check up on the early football games. The average 2 star rating is kind — this place is pretty awful. Run down and dingy, you feel dirty right away. We had a total of 2 beers, one banana smoothie(non alcohol) and the nachos with queso. My 16 y/o who leaves nothing behind had 2 sips of the smoothie. My wife and I couldn’t wait to finish our beer and go. I did walk to the back to use the restroom and got to see the kitchen on the left as you go back. Ugh! John Taffer, where are you??? Health department, where are you??? I was a little surprised by the $ 32 bill, but noticed they added a 16% gratuity which is a little presumptuous for a small party that had one drink each and an app. Anyway, not the servers fault and I actually felt bad for her as the place was just a dump. Since no amount of good service could overcome that we added to the tip anyway… Took me more than a few Purell uses before I felt clean again… I always regret when I don’t check the reviews first. If you are not a drunken teenager pass it on by.

The restaurant is right on the beach and in front of all the action. The service was quick and efficient. Overall the food and drink were just average and too expensive for the quality you are given. There are many birds outside the establishment waiting for food to fall to the ground. Drinks: margarita on the rocks and the pomegranate frozen margarita The margaritas are the average margarita you can get at most places. We started with the queso which was good but tastes like many other places. Food: We got the fish tacos — which in the menu it states they are famous for — and the sriracha chicken tacos. The tacos have too many ingredients and it is hard to distinguish all the flavors. I would suggest and asking for some of the ingredients omitted if I were to return. The fish was cooked well though too salty. The chicken was overcooked and had little flavor. Summary: Overall, I don’t think we would return here for the food. The ambience and location are nice for Florida but it’s not a must try place for food or drinks.

I don’t see why this place deserves the reviews it has, because my lunch was pretty good! Maybe the owners changed hands? Anyways, I went here with my family for a quick lunch, and we enjoyed ourselves quite handsomely. Our waitress was very attentive(and attractive) and the food was really good too! We got the nachos, which had the perfect balance of meat to chip ratio, as well as as had excellent flavor, and not very messy(though once again, you have to clean it all up with a fork), but it was all really good. We also got some of the handcrafted tacos. I got the Cuban Steak, but others got the taco salad, the fish tacos, and the sriracha tacos. Everybody enjoyed them! Some people didn’t really care for the rice and beans, but I liked them! Very meaty and not dry at all. Gotta say this was a real good option, and glad we stopped by!

Great spot to sit outside and people watch and great views of the ocean. BEACHY!!! $ 12.95 for their Hand Crafted Inspired Tacos(2) which was delicious BTW and the guacamole(.99 extra) was delicious as well, but kinda small. I had the smokey apple tacos. Rice and beans comes with the dish. We had a great server. We were able to get seats on a Friday night. BTW. Our server’s name was Lori. They want Unilocalers to come in and review the establishment.

5 stars for the service, 3 stars for the food. I’m glad I didn’t read the other reviews before I chose this place. We were walking around looking for a place to eat. The other restaurants in the area were either too hot and cramped, expensive, touristy, or a combo of all 3. At The Drunken Taco we found a great table directly across from the ocean. There was a cool refreshing ocean breeze and we were able to people watch while we dined. Our server, Lori came out to greet us and was super friendly. She complimented me on my bracelet and brought us water immediately. As soon as were ready to order she gladly obliged. She knew the menu well and answered all of our questions. Throughout the meal Lori treated us with 5 star service. The food was tasty. However are some improvements can be made, I ordered the Fish taco-blackened– It had good flavors and the fish was tasty. However, the taco was so soggy that I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The rest of the fillings were dry and I had to request some salsa. It would have been better if the dish came with a sauce or some type of salsa to help combine the flavors. The rice and beans were cold. In total, I’d give the food 3 stars. Overall, it was a nice experience to sit across from the ocean and eat mexican food. Drunken Taco is one of the better choices for this area of Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Oh the Drunken Taco, how I miss you! I was recently in Fort Lauderdale visiting my Bestie. Once I landed…5pm to be exact… It was HAPPYHOURTIME!!! Weee!!! Thank you Cocktail Jesus! First spot was«The Drunken Taco» love the name. First Stop… Let me start by saying Fort Lauderdale is Awesome! This Restaurant is ocean front, the view of the beach is amazing… We were seated outside to enjoy the weather… until it started raining… ugh. The ambiance is casual very laidback. Not sure if parking is avaliable behind the restaurant. We parked a few blocks back at a parking meter… which by the way you can pay with an app anywhere you go… WTF North Carolina step your game up! We ordered the 2 for 1 margaritas, which came those goblet glasses… now thats a deal! The food was ehh! Ok My cheese quesadilla sucked. But the service was good and the margaritas were awesome.
