Checked out Tijuana Flats while visiting down Florida. Apparently this is a chain that we don’t see often in the Northeast, but it does have its differences from places like Chipotle and Qdoba. This review is for the one on 17th street. The staff was great and friendly here. The tacos her are huge and reasonably priced. I however had the steak burrito which is my go to when trying out a new Mexican restaurant. It was roughly $ 8 and came with a side of chips. Both items were good and we got a side of queso to go with it as well. The chips and dip were fresh and really good. The burrito here is a little different than what you would get at Chipotle, It’s rolled tighter and not as overstuffed with ingredients. I like both types but this was a nice change of pace. Tijuana Flats also has a unique hot sauce bar with about 15 different sauces ranging from sweet and tangy to extreme hot. Would definitely come back to try some other items and sauces here.

The food is really good. They messed up my order by added something I didn’t want, but besides that it was good. The staff was very upbeat and friendly, which put me in a good mood. They were very good with describing the menu, it was my first time there so they explained everything. 2 thumbs up!

Mahi tacos are my favorite here. The vinaigrette is light and tangy. Tuesday is a tradition between my friends and I.

Good place to go to get fast food Mexican. They have burritos, enchiladas, flautas, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, chips/salsa, churros, etc. You can make your meal a combo plate and get rice and beans with your entrée and a drink. They have a sauce bar with about 10 varieties that vary in spice level. If you want salsa, you have to order it. Chips and salsa are $ 4, which I think is a little pricey for a fast food restaurant. You get a choice of meats: chicken, steak, shredded pork. There is plenty of indoor seating and they also have tables outside. The staff clears your table and delivers your food after you order it at the counter. They will walk around and ask you if you want drink refills or you can go up to the counter for them to refill it. The restaurant was very clean and staff was friendly. There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. They offer 10% off to teachers everyday!!!

Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted and handed a menu. Two young women helped me throughout my dining experience. I believe Megan was the girl who handed me the menu and took my order. Very friendly service and the food was great. I’ll be back. First time to this location.

Delicious! we had an order to go, super fresh, beef and stake tacos and burritos, we loved the soda cups, super cool! the only thing: i would like the soft tortillas of the tacos a little grilled… but its just something i usually like… not really necessary. we strongly recommend this place! thanks!

I’ve driven by here and kept putting it off. The reviews weren’t all great so it made me not want to step inside. It’s sad that actually went based on the reviews. I finally walked in today and I was amazed. This place isn’t Chipotle(thank God!). It also isn’t authentic mexican food(I think it would say authentic mexican restaurant) if it was. The food is Mexican American. The flavors are amazing. The waitress recommended the chimichanga. I had never had a steak chimichanga before and I was very impressed. I also had a blackened chicken quesadilla. I loved it. The service was wonderful. She made me feel very welcomed and she was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu items and ingredients. I’m very pleased with Jessica. She’s definitely an excellent waitress. I will continue to come here throughout my stay in Florida. :-)

I came here with three kids and my husband. We love this place. We got the Tijuana Flat burritos, Mac and queso for the kids and the food was excellent. What surprised me the most was the service which was even better. As soon as we sat down, they gave us complimentary chips and salsa. As we were eating, they kept asking if we needed anything. We don’t get this kind of service in a full device restaurant. This is a great family place.

Although for a long time i thought Tijuana flats was a sub par restaurant, at least as far as the food is concerned, I kept coming back because it was affordable, it has an awesome atmosphere that tailors to a young and rebellious counterculture as well as a chill alternative subculture, and the hot sauce bar is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Well eventually I found a menu item that I really enjoyed(bangin chicken tostadas) and I started coming more frequently. That’s when I realized how awesome this place is. The manager noticed I had been coming in about once or twice a week and he began to anticipate order. Yesterday I went in for lunch and he had my order in before I got to the register! He also gave me a bottle of my favorite hot sauce(brutal Bajun) on the house! The service here is excellent, and I give them five stars. Well done mates, and thank you again!!!

It’s OK, not too authentic but the tacos are larger than most. Great friendly service.

One can argue about the authenticity food. I don’t care – it’s tasty and that’s all that matters to me. I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu, most items are pretty good to decent; however, I like their quesadillas the best! I also enjoy their chips and queso, if you want a starter. For dessert, definitely try to the cookie dough flautas! They are so good, and I’ve never seen them on the menu anywhere else before. They are also famous for their hot sauce bar, so make sure to fill up a few containers while you wait for your food. You are bound to find at least one that you like, as they range from sweet to spicy. Side note: I really love this location in particular. The staff here is always so accommodating. They regularly frequent both the inside and outside of the restaurant to ask you if you need anything else at your table. Plus, it’s very rare that I enter the establishment without being greeted and offered a menu.

Honestly, this place should be avoided. I walked in seeking out a healthy lunch option. The surrounding restaurants weren’t really of any help, so I guess they should be given some credit. I asked if they had a burrito bowl like Chipotle and they have something they call a «no ritto bowl(Clever). I ordered one with blackened chicken and took a seat. I was the only person in the restaurant on noon on a Sunday. The décor is bizarre. There’s all these cartoon pictures encompassing the wall, which have zero to do anything Mexican. I thought it looked pretty snailey(It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Fans?). They had a bar of hot sauces. None of the place cards explaining what they are really give a proper explanation. They’re just furthering on the snail cartoon theme. I had the hottest one possible and two others. None of them were good. The waitress who brought the burrito bowl was very nice(plus one star). The burrito bowl was pretty lousy. The ingredients tasted like they had been frozen, the portions were small. Honestly, it seemed like low quality ingredients. Chipotle is infinitely better(and I’m not a fan of chains). Lousy atmosphere, lousy food, cheap, nice service = 2 stars.

This is not Mexican. They remind me of olive garden. Just plain fast food that makes your stomach turn after a few hours. They don’t even have good customer service. One of the employees was so rude I almost left right then, worst thing is he looked like the manager. Never again

Last minute decision to have lunch here, great decision. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Carl who gave this New Yorker a quick brief about the establishment. I had the enchiladas which were very good. My cousin had the steak quesadilla, which she really enjoyed. The customer service here is wonderful. They were attentive and very pleasant.

What brought me in was the food! I’ve had their food at 2 different outdoor events but never quite made it to the actual restaurant. Both times, their food was the tastiest of all vendors. That was the driving force behind me coming here to give the whole menu a shot. If the tiny samples were any indication of what it would be like to get the whole enchilada(pun intended), I had to come. And they were. I don’t remember what I ordered but I know I loved it. It had ample meat which is the quickest way to my heart. My only source of disappointment was their substandard knockoff version of a margarita.

We ordered two chimichungas. They were pretty decent. I ordered wheat and I was somewhat disappointed with that as it tasted more like a burrito and not fried. The person I was with ordered it as it comes on a white tortilla and that was better. I asked if the medium size was much food. The employee said yes. It was decent but not much. Next time, I would go with the largest option. For dessert, we had a cookie dough flouta. It is definitely worth trying. It would be a little better with a little less cookie dough but it was a really cool dessert and I’d like to try making this at home even. Great idea. Super slow despite being completely empty. We were the only people there at around 9 pm yet it took about 20 minutes to get our food. I can only imagine how slow it would have been had it been busy. Ok food but pretty plain. The salsas were pretty good though. I enjoyed the options. I disagree with one of the previous comments about the bumper stickers on the walls being super pro-gun and right wing. I had to look around through about 50 stickers to find one. I finally found one that could be construed«pro-gun» but I hardly saw that. Give me a break, Buddy.

This spot in particular. Unless I’ve been extremely lucky has the best customer service ever. The girls are always super friendly and have hooked it up on numerous occasions, free salsa, free queso, free guac, free chips, the food is always on par with tijuana standards! tip these guys! i no way get paid to endorse this location.

Great fast food taco place. Approached the door and the greater opened the door for me and asked if it was the first time at the spot. The order was taken and the food came out quickly. Crunchy hard shell tacos and fresh chips. Yes fast food but a great job. The sauces are a little conrfusing but that is not the stores fault. Great service. Great price great service

Typical chain Mexican restaurant. Doesn’t mean it’s bad, though. It was good, and cheap. I ordered the regular chimichanga with steak. It was only $ 4.99 and the perfect size for me. They serve their plates with chips and you can get salsa, guac, or queso on the side. I liked the queso the best. The ingredients are fresh, but without the salsa bar, the food is a little bland. The sangria is bottled and not made fresh but it was still okay. At about $ 3 a glass I’m not complaining. I think if I want a cheap kinda fast meal I’d come back. I didn’t get dessert but my co workers did and I think the consensus was that they were on the sweet side and are meant to share. They ordered the churros and the cookie dough flautas.
