The Parrot Lounge is a fun place to hang and have a drink or root for your favorite team. I came here on several occasions to soak up the team spirit of the patrons and the staff. Plenty of TVs for easy viewing. Outdoor seating. Very good food. Fun and friendly servers. I always had a good time on a visit to The Parrot. Other great reasons to patron The Parrot: They are a block from the beach; go there to cool your feet and quench your thirst after a few hours in the sun and sand. They are reasonably priced; especially considering the cost of some of these bars on the A1A that charge upwards of $ 14 for a drink! That’s about the price of lunch at The Parrot. Finally, when I sit down to have a couple drinks and watch a game, I just want to feel like I am welcomed, and you get that feeling here… it’s a «hey! Glad to see you again!» atmosphere that I enjoyed every visit and makes me want to return.

Cozy tavern a block from the beach. Nothing fancy, good food, good craft beer choices. John and Erica were outstanding and fun.

Cool little«dive bar.» Went there on a Saturday night and it was pretty dead. Service good and atmosphere great for good conversation. Didn’t eat here, but seemed like a fun laid back bar off the main strip.

Went here on a Friday night for a Dogs, Beaches & Brew event. The place was packed outside with people & their dogs and only a few people scattered at the bar inside. There was live music that wasn’t overly loud and drink specials on beer. Once the event died down, we were able to snag a table outside. Service was bad and a little bit awkward. I don’t know if our server was overwhelmed or just out of it, but it wasn’t a normal serving experience I guess you could say. The table we had sat at still had plates/glasses/was a little dirty. When the server came up he goes«Are we all set here?» like we had been the ones sitting there before. Explained to him we just sat down and would like to look at some menus to order an appetizer. He looked confused but cleared the table and came back to take our order. Asked what a good appetizer was so he rattled off Conch Fritters & Cheese Sticks, said we would do the cheese sticks. He ended up bringing both Conch Fritters & Cheese Sticks — which was fine. He then brought out beer we didn’t ask for. Then didn’t really check on us anymore… after we waited long enough I wandered into the bar in hopes to get our check and I found him leaning over the bar. Asked for our check and then we were finally on our way. Food Review — Conch Fritters were really chewy and almost burnt on the outside. «Cheese sticks» if you can call them that — we 4 rectangles of white cheese with a super crispy, again almost burnt outside. Left unsatisfied with what we received. Overall service was poor and food was not appetizing. Definitely wouldn’t be going back for next month’s Dogs, Beaches & Brew event based on the location.

Great beer selection, service was awkward and food was not good. Got the nachos-cheese was not melted at all and it came with cheap jar salsa on the side.

This is traditional bar food. Casual dining, tees and beach coverup. Great deals all day if your looking for happy house, it’s all day! 5 beers for $ 15. And Vodka specials. If you want something different, this is not the place. It’s wings, quesadillas, burgers and more. The conch fritters were pretty good! There are lots of tvs if you need to watch a sports event!

Great service, very good Mahi, and awesome selection of beer. Came here everyday and enjoyed a different Mahi meal each day, thought the conch fritters were good as well. Felt at home here and wasn’t all the pomp and circumstance you find at a few of the other hoity-toity places in A1A. Enjoyed meals here more than the overpriced S3 Sand, Surf and Sun!

Probably the best place to watch an Eagles game that isn’t in Philadelphia. The Yuengling buckets flow free in this place. Bucket of five for around $ 25 isn’t too shabby. Watching the Eagles beat the Patriots, well that’s worth any amount of money. The bar itself is huge and on an Eagles game day, there wasn’t a seat available inside. Luckily, the owner sets up tables outside the venue. There are plenty of TVs outside and on a nice night, beats sitting in the bar. Owner himself was an awesomely chill guy. You might mistake him for a worker, as he was putting away the outside tables pretty much by himself. He was great to have a chat with. Even if you aren’t an Eagles fan, you can still enjoy the bar. There were Patriots fans in the house but from what I could tell, no one harassed those fans. The nicest sports bar I’ve ever been too.

I came here based off the 4 star review on Unilocal. Service — horrible Food — mediocre Atmosphere — great if you’re here for the bar experience Had to chase down the waitress for silverware, condiments and refills. Mahi was burnt. Maybe this place has 4 stars because of the bar. Do not eat here.

We literally found this place by chance. We were walking back to our hotel from a posh mall and decided to take a detour down on a side street. We weren’t even sure this place was open at first, but decided to venture in. It’s a great low-key bar with a terrific beer selection. Our bartender, Erica, was just great. She had a slew of marvelous suggestions. We ended up striking up a conversation with a couple next to us who had some great suggestions in Fort Lauderdale. We did not get anything to eat, but the couple next to us did and really loved their food — recommended by Erica. This is definitely a place to check out. It is a block from the beach, so it is a great place to cool off after being out in the sun.

I was last at the Parrot in June of 1990. It’s hard to believe that it’s still here, but if you look at the picture on the wall just inside the door, these buildings have been here since the ‘20s. Amazing. The Parrot is still a bar and they still have mostly bar-type food. Several TVs mounted up high with the various sports on them, so this is likely a good spot for sports too. I seem to remember some World Series game on them when I was here back then. I opted for the Parrot Burger which turned out to be a decent sized patty(I asked for medium rare, it was more medium) with bacon and cheddar and onion strings on a bun, plus the usual LTO. Their sandwiches usually come with kettle chips but one of my tablemates had the fries and they looked like the better choice. These were crunchy and a bit overdone. Not great. The burger was good and messy and tasty. Nice to see something«historic» still standing in this town that’s almost completely new and rebuilt.

Nice place about one block from beach. Happy hour Monday thru Friday $ 1 off. Live music on Patio on Fridays. Philly football bar on Sunday’s. Drink and foot prices average for the neighborhood. Good quality a bit below average and the menu is predictable. Service was efficient and friendly. Conch fritters torched on outside and a bit rare inside. Stick with fries and nachos.

I came to Fort Lauderdale for 6 days, and stayed right around the corner from The Parrot. I visited daily because I love really good beer. Each time I went, the bartender would introduce themselves, and for the remainder of the night, we’d be on a first name basis. That was awesome. The beer selection is top notch… lots of good, local craft brews, and a bottle list that will keep you busy for a while. The food is also good. It’s pub food, but it’s good pub food. Their fried gulf shrimp is to die for, as is their Mahi Mahi sandwich. Great little place for a tasty, fresh meal. Another positive is that they make drinks to go, which is convenient considering how close they are to the beach. I made a couple of piña colada trips, which were both pretty strong. This was a great restaurant to have in the neighborhood, and would often make it my first and last stop of the day. Great beer, and by far the friendliest atmosphere I encountered in south Florida.

I am a second generation drinker at the fine establishment known as The Parrot. I’ve long been regaled with tales of drinking and hitting on tourists at the beach by my Dad, so when we stopped in Ft Lauderdale on our way to Key West, I knew that we had to stop here. Luckily, we came here during South Florida Craft Beer week, so the Cigar City was flowing like wine. The prices were very competitive and they even offer flights just in case you want to taste everything(which you should.) After several of these, I went with the peel and eat shrimp so I had something in my belly. It’s just like back at home in the lowcountry. The prices on everything are competitive, and there is even a cooler with bombers of several rares you can partake in as well, in case you’re looking to get adventurous. If you’re looking for a laid back, craft beer bar near the beach, this is where you should go in town.

While visiting Fort Lauderdale for my cousin’s wedding, we had a free night to grab dinner before the big events of the follow day. Some of my extended family said they were heading to the World Famous bar behind our hotel, the Sonesta, and so we followed them to the Parrot Lounge. Inside the Parrot Lounge is very much a sports bar with TV’s covering nearly ever available space above the bar. There is also shuffleboard, darts, and a Wii console. They have an amazing selection of craft beer available, including Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA on tap during our visit. For dinner I ordered the chicken philly($ 8.99) and added onions, peppers, and mushrooms for $.50 each. The sandwich comes served with a bag of chips and fries were an additional $ 2. Phillys are served on Amoroso rolls and smothered in cheese. I really enjoyed the sandwich. My wife had the mahi-mahi sandwich(12.99) with sweet potato fries for $ 1 more. I didn’t try this sandwich as I’m not big on fish, but she seemed to enjoy it. The sweet potato fries were a little overdone for me, but still edible. I really enjoyed our visit to the Parrot Lounge. Some members of my family had so much fun there this night that they went back again after the wedding the following night.

Visited this bar twice while in Florida the week before Christmas 2014. We went there once on Wednesday or Thursday just for drinks. Service was slow, even though bar was not busy. I only order one drink. The boyfriend had a really good beer(Brewer Bus) and wanted another one, but based on the slow service, we decided to close out. Bar tender wad busy talking to some other folks all the way at the other end of the bar. Decent prices. We went again on Saturday night because it was of walking distance from our hotel. It was a little busier than the other day, but not too much. We went pretty late. Probably 8−930pm. Sever was very nice. Chicken quesadilla was really good. Then we had the Breaded shrimp. Breaded shrimp kind of all taste the same… So yeah lol the boyfriend had two more of the same beer. Due to location, and beer prices, I would recommend this place if you were staying at the Sonesta. Good prices on drinks, decent food. Quesadilla was actually pretty good. Lots of indoor seating. And some outdoor. Bathroom is small and janky, but whatever lol it’s a bar ish type restaurant.

Did you see Shawn of the dead? This is our Winchester. Lol. In our never ending quest to find places where we don’t feel on display(as badly-lol), this is our nearby go to place. Simple inexpensive comfort bar food menu, and a humongous selection of craft bottle and draft beers. And friendly staff and bartenders who seem to know everyone. They have events and a game area we haven’t scoped out yet, but will. The table settings always have the month calendared to list daily specials and events. Although we wouldn’t necessarily be deemed«regulars», staff here have always been friendly to us each time we’ve visited. I get my craft beer fix and its been great to take our friends here to chill and watch different sports on all the TV’s they have. We even have taken the little ones for a quick bite, particularly after a romp at the beach. The simple but very tasty funnel cake sticks are a blast, the funnel stick sundae with vanilla ice cream all swizzled with caramel is just cute tasty happy stuff. Overall, like another review mentioned this place is a rather unpretentious little neighborhood bar tucked right off the A1A and Sunrise.
