I had the opportunity to stay at the Rainier Inn on JBLM July 2015, November 2015 and February 2016. A total of about 4 – 5 weeks. Each time the staff was extremely friendly. The were courteous and helpful with any needs we had. The complimentary breakfast they offer each morning had a variety of breakfast food to choose from. The rooms were very clean. We stayed in both the main building and in 2111. Both were very clean, updated and very cozy. It made our stay very nice while away from home for so long.

Outstanding. When we were here we were very impressed!!! Looking forward to a return visit. We have nothing negative or bad to report. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and we were able to sleep like babies. They are at the top of the charts. Yes I would highly recommend this place.

Seriously. WHEN did Military Lodging look like the Marriott??? WOWWWW! Things have changed since I got out of the Army in 2006! hahaha My Mother In Law flew in for the week to be with her Grandkids during Spring Break so on Friday, the last night before her departure, I made reservations at the Rainier Inn on JBLM. It was only for 1 night so I figured, why spend $ 300.00 at some major hotel!!! Well, I was blown away when I found out that the Majority of military bases are converting to this Marriott styled accommodations. ***(Might I add, my wife WASPISSED when I told her we were lodging on Fort Lewis because as an Army spouse, she remembers military lodging– hahaha Boy was she surprised when we checked in and went up to our room).*** The Rooms were just like we are accustomed to while traveling in other states. Just like a Hotel you’d gladly spend upward of $ 180 — $ 200 a night. The room was immaculate, had WIFI and HBO on a 40″ Flat Screen. The room came with a Stove, microwave and mini fridge. There were also plates, glasses and utensils if needed. WOW!!! All that for $ 99.50 a night! Needless to say, I’d have NOISSUES whatsoever booking a weekend there again!!! Signed, Happy DOD Civilian and Wife!

We stayed for 10 days. When we arrived we were told of our room location which was in a separated building not located to the main building. Building 2111 which was part of the hotel. The room smelled like dog or animals and that smell was only trumped by the barking of dogs. I was unaware it was a pet friendly hotel but wish the reception would have stated that. On the plus side, they had a 2 free washers and dryers on my floor. Also, a large fridge/freezer and microwave combo in room.

Stayed there recently right before leaving JBLM with my husband, teenage daughter, and little dog. The room was very clean and the beds really comfortable. There was a table, desk, fridge, and microwave. Breakfast served every morning and the laundry room is free(not coin-operated). They have some pet-friendly rooms. The one negative is that there was no elevator in the building we stayed in.

This is military accommodations? I’ve been to enough temporary base housing and hotels to know this isn’t usually what you get ! This was exactly like staying in a brand new Fairfield Inn or Holiday Inn. We were about 40 minutes outside of Seattle and 10 minutes outside of Tacoma with no traffic and maybe a tad bit of speeding ! The rooms were large and our suite included a tiny kitchenette and living area. It was always so quit I felt like I should be tiptoeing up and down the hallways. IMMACULATE !! It’s so clean I may have been OK eating my breakfast off the floor ! Breakfast served in the morning is your basic continental breakfast with a toaster for bagels, toast, pastries, yogurt, cereals, hard boiled eggs, juices, milk and coffee. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat next time we’re in the area.

Great lodging one of the best I have stayed at in my 25 yrs 16 of which have been TDY to all branches and different lodging, rooms for 1 person are ample size and very clean. Kitchenette is your typical 2 burner with micro, sink, coffee pot. And utensils. Staff seem friendly and willing to answer your questions. No pets!

Thanks to my retired Military Dad we get to stay in this awesome Rainier Inn. Well, let me tell you after being on the road for couple of days and staying in some real dumps(places where they charge you up the wazoo and don’t even change their sheets) this place is like a dream come true. The fixtures are modern and in great condition. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is big. The place is really clean which is something I have not seen for a good while in hotel/motel accommodations. The WiFi works great too. I’ve enjoyed the breakfast here. It is simple but of good quality. There is just about every cereal you can imagine offered. And the hard boiled eggs in the containers are adorable! The hotel is situated in a nice area. Fort Lewis is a nice base in my opinion. I grew up on this base with Rainier in the background. I love it here. The only reason I don’t give this inn 5 stars is because we stayed at Travis Airforce Base in Fairfield California recently and that place is a palace. For about 50 something dollars a night we stayed in this mini apartment that had two bedrooms with King and Queen sized beds, two bathrooms, ample toiletries, a beautiful well stocked kitchen, Keurig coffee maker, washer and dryer, great WiFi, T.V.s, you name it, this place had it. And it was clean! For some reason Rainier Inn charges more. Must be for the view I guess! Still is considerably better than nearly any hotel outside of this particular military base.

Ok… I’m back into the lodging after being gone for the weekend. So when I check in, guess what, SURPRISE! We put you in Bronson Hall!(VIP and senior officers quarters) Pros: — Morning breakfast cooked to order based on the hangtag you put on the door. — Rooms are much more secluded and you get more privacy than at the other billeting which is definitely like a hotel. — Lounge areas are much more quiet complete with recliners and other big poofy furniture. Cons: — No AC in the rooms. Yeah, I’ve heard it before, «this is WA state. We don’t use AC.» Ever heard of global warming? — No utensils in the room. Yet, I have a large fridge for foodstuffs. Hrm… — Most of the cable channels don’t work. — Internet jack only works in the front lounge area — but not the one by the bed. Ugh…it’s almost tempting to ask for a downgrade in this place…
