This is definitely a local spot. The staff is very friendly though and the food is good(although quite unhealthy) haha.

Ate here twice and I didn’t like it but I’m not ready to count them out! My first time eating there I have the fish and chips ugh nasty it was a party I’m a country girl from Tennessee who is used to the fish in the Tennessee river, and since it’s in the country I assumed it would be fresh catfish from some river around here. My second time I ate the Philly cheese steak and that was not good the only thing I LOVED was the fresh cute potato fries YUM!

I have eaten here with the wife a half dozen times. It is very good and a solid destination. The food is home cooking, burger and fries, to meatloaf and chicken fried steak. It really is what your grandmother would cook. We have enjoyed every visit. The décor is kinda run down but the folks(both diners and owners) are good people, and the food is good.

Location: From Phenix City, AL and Columbus, GA take HWY1 or US431 south to HWY165 south just past 101st Airborne Division Rd and just before Co Rd 18. You will find yourself in the true southern countryside. Watch out for the logging trucks they have the right a way, unless you drive a rig of the same size. Plenty of parking on both sides of the HWY. There is an easier way to get there through Ft. Benning using the western AL gate, for those of you who live on base. Atmosphere/Ambiance: You’ll think you went back in time when it was a simple time. It’s a hole in the wall and off the beaten path. You can tell you’re in the heart of the south and this place has all the character and charm of what you would expect to find in a true southern smokehouse or what a true roadhouse is. This is not a chain restaurant and you may not want to eat off the floor but you’ll want to eat their food. Our service men and women from Ft. Benning frequent this place. So express your gratitude and thank them for their service. Service: True southern hospitality. Order before you sit and wait for your number to be called, quick and easy. Quality & Cost: Was there for lunch, and had one of the daily specials of BBQ pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad for $ 6.50WOW. Summary: 4 Stars. A place to impress that special someone but you’ll want to warn her first. With so many BBQ places to choose from in the area, this one rates high on my list for the atmosphere & ambiance but also for the great BBQ. Looking forward to going back again.
