The food here is always tremendous. Gotta try it if you are in the area. Just make it there before 7 and don’t try it on Sunday’s. They’re closed.

Greaaaaaaaaat Mexican food. Believe it or not, there’s some pretty da** good Mexican food out here and Los Portales is on the list. Reasonable prices, very big quantities, have yet to see any roaches crawling around on the walls or ceilings. Great place! Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, you name it whatever they have it’s definitely delicious.

Authentic Mexican food every time we come out here we stop at least once. Great enchiladas! Ask for the grilled jalapeños it makes the meal that much better

This was the only time we ate take out while we were in Fort Mohave. Laina and I wanted to pick up the tab for once (big spender that we are) and found this highly rated Mexican restaurant (
) on the handy Unilocal application.
We were greeted by a very nice staff member behind the counter when we entered the place. The menu (
) is on the wall to the right as you walk in and it is the standard Mexican fare. The interior is nondescript (
) and probably seats around twenty customers. There are also daily specials (
) on a dry erase board. If you are in Fort Mohave, keep in mind this is a retirement community and businesses close (
) very early cause no one is awake after 8:00 pm.
The better half and I took a few minutes to digest the menu before ordering. My lovely wife selected the Super Burrito (
), I chose the Taquitos with Shredded Beef (
), my father went with the 2 Enchilada Combination Plate with Chicken and my mother opted for the Taco Salad with Ground Beef. I didn’t want my parents to wait for me to Unilocal-​stalk there food, so I didn’t take pictures of their entrees.
I think the food was ready in around in 10 minutes and we were also given a large bag of chips (
) with salsa and pico de gallo in addition to our order. We loaded the food into our car and headed for home. The food was still nice and warm when we arrived home, but the food itself met with mixed reviews.
I think the biggest winner was the enchiladas. My father isn’t a big eater anymore, but he managed to eat both of his enchiladas with a little help from my mother. My parents both thought the enchiladas were very good. He didn’t try the beans and rice and saved them for another day. Laina’s burrito had plenty of carnitas … actually it had too much which made the burrito on the dry side. The other ingredients were lacking inside the burrito. She did say the carnitas was good, but the avocados they used for the guacamole was a more inferior variety (zutano maybe) to the haas avocado. I echoed these sentiments and found the guacamole on my taquitos on the disappointing side. The taquitos weren’t filled all the way through and when I cut off a piece for Laina to try, she just got fried tortilla and no shredded beef. The shredded beef was also overcooked, almost to the point of being burnt. I will give them credit for providing a good amount of cheese and guacamole on top of the taquitos. The worse entrée was definitely my mother’s taco salad. The ground beef had a really bad taste that didn’t agree with her palate and was a watery /​oily mess. If you have ever tried to cook ground beef that has been in the freezer for too long, this is what the beef looked, smelled and tasted like.
Rohlinism: The only thing worse than frozen beef is overly frozen beef!
She took three bites and stopped eating. The chips and salsa were pretty good and if not made fresh, they get them from a good supplier.
This might pass for five star Mexican in a Arizona retirement community, but this place would be mediocre at best in California!

Best Carne asada in the area, big portions, and quick service. They take care of you and make sure that you get what you want. Check it out for good mexican food.

We purposely went to this restaurant (and took friends) because of the 5-​Star reviews on Unilocal,which we do not understand now that we have been there. In our opinion the food can only be described as fast food eaten on paper plates with plastic tableware and disappointing. The restaurant consists of a few tables and chairs in a sparse room with no decorations and a counter where the customer orders.

The food is delicious and authentic. I am from Southern California and Mexican food doesn’t get much better than this.
I have had everything from the tacos to the burritos to sopes. I am never disappointed. The food is always super hot and fresh. The salsa is mild but has a great flavor. I love it. I love the carnitas and carne asada (personal preferences).
This is a great restaurant for takeout or to eat in. The family who owns it is very friendly.
I will definitely keep coming back for years to come. I try to make it here every time I visit Bullhead/​Laughlin.

The best Mexican food in town! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Every time I come to town, we always make a stop here.

Solid Mexican food and great service. Bean and cheese burrito was huge. I could barely finish half of it. The roasted peppers we’re great too. Not my favorite guac but I didn’t need it with how full I was from the giant burrito. The tortilla was my favorite part. I could just order tortillas next time and dip them in the hot sauce.

Best Mexican food in town. Everything is delicious, it’s very clean and very friendly employees. I highly recommend. Prices are just right.

I just had the enchiladas and are the best in town, great frendly place to eat, enchiladas and a soda was only $ 9.38.

My family moved from Flagstaff where we grew up with authentic Mexican food and were in need great food. After trying all the places people in town recommended, we found this place that has great service, friendly environment, AUTHENTIC Mexican food and fast/​delicious cooking staff. This is the place to go to if you love Mexican food! I will continue going to Los Portales and continue –Highly– recommending this place to any and everyone!

I have been coming to Los Potales for over 15 years. For the 9 years I lived in Bullhead City I would eat there 3 times a week. Since I moved anytime I am within a 3 hour radius I will drive to eat there. Everything on the menu is outstanding however my absolute favorite thing is their Carnitas burrito cover in their HOT sauce. I have been fortunate enough to travel the United States and to this day I have not found a better burrito. Try the carnitas burrito with rice beans cheese and pico. I promise you that you will NOT be disappointed. It’s a small quant little place but the food is the BEST !!!

Hands down the best Mexican food in BHC! Never had a bad meal here… just a little hole in the wall… but I am bummed they stopped doing breakfast…

I was pleasantly surprised. I saw the Unilocal reviews and figured what the heck. I ordered the carnitas, they were very good. Plenty of food. And it came out fast. Guess being the only group there helped. My only issue is no chips and salsa. A Mexican restaurant must have chips and salsa! So all in all worth the $ for a good quick bite.

Tried this for lunch. And was impressed by flavor and qty. Lots of Hispanic customers so you know it’s good!!! Will be back… still recommend a bigger store front with booze…

Los Portales is a local place, not readily visible or accessible to the wandering tourist. We found it here on Unilocal and decided to try it because of its 5 star rating.
We have to concur, that this place is a gem. No stars for décor or menu design, it was clean enough, and there is no wait staff to coddle you. The guy working the counter took care of us very we’ll. the food came fast and it was some of the best aMexican I’ve had in a very long time! I had the special three soft tacos for $ 3.99! My boys both loved their enchiladas plus tacos and my wife devoured her Sopes platter! If your heading north from Needles to Bullhead City, stop at Los Portales, you won’t be disappointed!

Finally found an amazing Mexican restaurant! The best Mexican food in town! My family loves this place! You really cant go wrong. ive been to a few Mexican places around here and they just couldn’t get the carne asada right this place is outstanding, perfect seasoning, perfect meat you won’t be disappointed.
