While in Fort Myers recently my wife and I went here after reading the reviews, very disappointed to say the least. We arrived to an empty restaurant but the waitress seemed to busy to deal with us. She was short and rude. My wife asked what was in one of the salads on the menu and she just looked at her in a way that stated, just read the menu. The menu states no substitutions because the food is made in such a way to get the best flavor. I had a shrimp and sausage dish over pasta and my wife had a shrimp and mushroom dish. Neither was that flavorful. To end the experience, when I paid the bill I needed change to leave a tip. In my change, I received a $ 10 bill and a $ 1 bill. I asked if I could have 2 $ 5’s so I can leave a tip. I was told they had no $ 5’s. When I asked how do I leave a tip, I was told it was up to me, but they could give me $ 1’s instead… duh. I was not leaving more than a 20% tip for bad service and average food. Seems simple to me, but just go ahead and bring me 10 $ 1’s to start, don’t expect a large tip. I am shortly moving to the area and this restaurant is one that I will not be returning too.

The service was good, until the waiter refused to let one of us order the cheese sticks(it was on the kids menu) as one of the appetizers. Not sure why they wouldn’t want the sale? The crabmeat soup was tasty and the best part of the meal. The grouper special– very dry. Overall, I gave 3 stars for the soup, but probably not worth a return to this restaurant.

Fort Myers hidden jewel! The food is fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. The veal Marsala is to die for. Tonight we also had the special soup which was roaster red pepper with crab. I don’t like crab but my boyfriend ordered this soup and it was phenomenal. All the meals we have had at Mina’s has been memorable. Yes, memorable. This is our favorite restaurant in Fort Myers! 5 stars, no questions asked!

Since we had just arrived in Fort Myers yesterday afternoon, my husband and I were looking for a good, casual restaurant right near our hotel. I had read a good number of reviews for Mina’s online and the place certainly did not disappoint. Pleasant surroundings, caring and concerned service and delicious food in generous portions at reasonable prices made for a wonderful experience. The warm bread coming right out of the oven was fresh and a good beginning to our meal. Although the menu is predominantly Italian it does have a few Latin American items. Since I hadn’t had plantains in quite a while I ordered them. They were delicious, really YUMMY. My husband had a cup of the soup of the day which was a somewhat creamy red pepper and crabmeat chowder. We both agreed that it was superior.. A bowl of it and the wonderful bread could have made a meal. For the main dish I had the spaghetti bolognese — the chef’s signature meat sauce served over the pasta with a touch of cream. We both agreed it was terrific and a very nice sized portion. My husband had the mar e monte dish which was shrimp with shiitake mushrooms with fresh tomatoes and spinach in a garlic wine sauce over capellini pasta. It was an excellent dish and a very large sized portion. We learned that this a family business and the owners take great pride. in their restaurant. We were only sorry that we did not have room for one of the homemade desserts. If time permits we would love to return.

Ate at Mina’s twice. First time food was good. Second time food still good but had a bottle of wine that was on the verge of going bad. Asked waiter for a different glass of wine n he didn’t even ask why we didn’t drink the rest of the bottle! My husband told him it was starting to turn n he didn’t even offer to replace or take it off bill! Sadly to say I won’t b dining there anymore

I went because of the good reviews on Unilocal and found them mostly justified. A welcome break from the cookie cutteries that abound down here. Whoever said Mina’s water tastes bad had it right, by the way. I got a table for one though it was nearly full on a Monday night. It’s hard to find… You can’t see it from the highway. I had the seafood salad special, not a very good value at $ 11.95. The ribeye with lentils, on the other hand was a good bargain at $ 17.95. Rare as ordered, decent sized and tender for a Latin place. Wine pour was skimpy. Whole bill with tax and tip(the waiter has you punch it into his computer table side, no increasing the take) came to $ 48. I’ve done a lot worse.

Highlights: Very attentive service. One of the co-owners took our orders and made good food and wine recommendations. I always let the waiter choose the wine, until it seems apparent that they don’t know how to choose wines. However, in this case, the waiter/owner had wine pairing skills and made good recommendations. The Seco de Lengua(Cow’s Tongue) was a good choice and way more delicious than it sounds. Plate presentation was expert. The outside is totally unremarkable, but the inside is decorated nicely, and you forget you’re in a strip mall. Lowlights: Not in a scenic area.

Went here for lunch and enjoyed the food. It was pipping hot and delicious. we chose our entrees from the Latin menu and both the dishes were very flavorful without being overpowering. Will definitely come back again and will recommend to friends.

Have driven by this place countless times and have never stopped. What a shame because it was a delicious lunch. From start to finish it was a wonderful meal. I ordered a cup of the quinoa soup and it was so fresh and tasty, the cilantro added such nice flavor I wish I had gotten a bowl of it(or 2) My husband and I ordered the quesadilla and the chicken parm sandwich our plan was to share with each other but after tasting my quesadilla there was no sharing to be had it was so good. The bacon was a perfect salty addition to the mushrooms and chicken. Served with fries, they were perfectly crisp not mushy or cold and delightfully seasoned. And then dessert… rice pudding and a cannoli oh my it was the perfect sweet touch to end the meal. Will definitely be back for dinner because lunch was so impressive. Job well done!

I have been here three times and I have consistently had a four star experience. The food is very good– had the salmon, a Mexican dish and the veal. Pleased but not«5 star excited». The service was very good and place is cute and cozy. The menu is varied and offers a variety of different Mediterranean and Latin dishes– recommend this place if craving something unique and flavorful– but can’t seem to honestly«rave» about the experience. The place is conveniently located, «reasonable» pricing(but to some may seem overpriced) I will return.

I sat down and ordered a glass of Malbec, which was delicious, and the waiter set down some bread and butter. «Psssht. Who needs bread with Latin food?,» I thought. Twenty minutes later I was sopping up the delicious Tequila Añejado sauce on my Mariachi Chicken with that entire loaf of bread and it all made sense. The rice served with my dish was perfectly cooked and may be the best rice I ever had. My Gorgonzola salad was also very well prepared with just the right amount of dressing and the coconut crème brûlée is a must-try dessert. This is a fantastic little restaurant. If you enjoy Latin food, it’s the place. I understand that they also have Italian food, but I didn’t try any.

BACKTOFAIRLYGOOD I had quite a good impression of this place. My last time here was lovely. I hadn’t been back here for a while, so I rather eagerly made the effort to stop in for lunch. I had a wildly overpriced glass of Pinot Grigio, an average Caesar Salad and an order of French fries. The fries were practically inedible, soggy and with way too much salt. The service was impersonal. This is a small place, both the service and the quality of the food need to improve for them to survive in the long run. There are just too many nice alternatives for lunch.

Overated! Unilocal let us down. This place is no 4.5 stars. Our 2 veal dishes were very thin and chewy(not good). Should have been tender. Caesar and spinich salads were good and very reasonably priced at 3.99. Plantains were good. Caprese appertizer was good. Service was decent. Veal with pasta had too much water and grease; splashed. Won’t go back.

A friendly family owned and operated Bistro. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable server, Andre. Bread came hot and homemade. Ordered the spaghetti pasta with Bolognese — Chef’s signature meat sauce. Perfect blend of flavors and the pasta served«Al Dente»(to the tooth). Served with a glass of chianti and finished with a macchiato. Food five stars, service five stars and atmosphere four stars.

My husband and I went here for lunch and we enjoyed our meal very much. I had chicken veggie pasta which was delicious and it had fresh veggies that were cooked beautifully. My husband had the chicken parmigiana which he enjoyed. He said that it tasted fresh and it was made with real stewed tomatoes. Then we finished our meal with a delicious rice pudding which was creamy with some crunch from the macadamia nuts and the broiled sugar topping. I also had a cappuccino which is the best cappuccino in Fort Myers! The restaurant is very clean and the service was great. We enjoyed our time at Mina’s and we recommend it for anyone.

Great job! Got the lamb special… Meat fell off the bone. Friend got the veal francese, fantastic, added capers with it but the Ecuadorian rice didn’t go with the dish… sub out pasta! Our waiter Andre was great. Also calamari was tasty but I think they need to work on the sauce! Great spot. Great food. Bravo Andre!
