I’m sorry to say this location has closed. My husband always liked their Pulled Pork sandwich an the BBQ half chicken was my favorite. The staff were wonderful, I wish them the best.

I thought this place was okay, as long as your order the ribs. We stopped here for lunch on our drive from Marco Island back to Tampa. I was excited to find a non-Chili’s sit-down restaurant option on that stretch of I75. Rib City has lunch specials for $ 7 – 9 that include one protein and two sides. My husband had the BBQ pork, which I found unremarkable. I had the ½ rack of baby back ribs, and they were indeed fall off the bone tender. The sauce was fine if not remarkable. The baked beans were okay. The fries were good, not soggy at all, but a little under-seasoned. The staff was polite and efficient(admittedly, the place was nearly empty when we were there). Décor is similar to a chain restaurant.

The DM left a message in regards to my experience. I spent the time to call him back. He agreed that the issue of hot sauce was not handled correctly and he would to talk to the owners. He told me he would send a gift card to comensate for the bad meal. Nothing recieved not a suprise. Don’t think the overall chain of restaurants is managed well.

My family took my friend there before we put her on her plane back to Indy and she loved it. We all loved what we ordered. My friend was very happy too. Everything was great.

Overall very good. Service was very good. Tried the ribs, don’t know why you would go to a place called Rib City and not. Served dry with sauce on the side. Good smokey flavor. Just a bit on the small side. I would go back.

Strip mall pit barbecue. Their specialty is ribs and they do them pretty well, in fact too well(done) for me. My full rack was tender and had a distinct hickory smoke flavor but they were a bit burnt on the ends for my taste. The baked beans were less than memorable, lacking that hearty flavor I like. The fries were generous but they should have been left in the fryer for another 30 seconds or so. They were a bit soggy and the color was bland and not golden like they should be. Overall the meal was so, so but when you want good southern style BBQ you don’t really expect much more from SW Florida.

2 ½ STARS We thought we should try out a Rib City sometime because it is founded and headquartered right in Fort Myers. This place has been open for a year or two and has a rather corporate/franchise feel to it on the inside. We ordered the«Pick Three» combo and split it. We had: 1) ½ Rack Baby Back Ribs, 2) ¼ BBQ Chicken, &3) ¼ lb smoked beef. The meal came with baked beans & cole slaw. Over-all the meal was decidedly average. By far the best part was the ribs, which were actually quite nice. The chicken had no flavor and the beef was nothing more than deli sliced beef. The baked beans were in a very sweet syrupy sauce and the slaw was ho-hum. There were three sauces on the table, but none of them were hot, or even spicy. You must ask for that if you want it. I was tempted to give them 2 stars, but bumped it to 3 because they are local.
