I think this is the best Walmart in DC in terms of organization and space. The weekends can be hectic but during the week it’s never really crowded. I actually live in the apartments above the Walmart so it is very convenient as well!

This Walmart is bigger than the H Street location. The food selection is large and varied. There are more clearance items at this location than the other DC Walmarts. The customer service desk staffers seem overworked and tired. They aren’t rude but they are barely polite. Smiles help. There is plenty of parking. Stay alert when leaving the store and entering the parking lot. I always have my car keys out. I am not impressed by the security team.

I like it! At least 5 staff members asked me if I needed help. The only down side is that it so large it hard to find anything. Beats H street and Ga Ave hands down

Brings commerce to an area with few other places to buy groceries. It is well lit, stocked, and has friendly service. Has just about anything you could need and all at reasonable prices. I appreciate this Walmart!

This place is a tad better than the Georgia ave location, but it reeks of the same bad reps of customer service as most of the Walmarts in DC. I wouldn’t call any within DC «super centers» like their Maryland and Virginia sibling stores. However, DC needed these convenient stores to invoke ppl to stay in the district. Back to the store. Produce: okay but where are the scales? Health and beauty: nice. Clothing: sufficient. Electronics: good. Market: good. Toys: blah. Home: good. And Checkout: pretty good. This place is solid. It’s not great but I think it’s worth being a home store for many in the upper NWDC area.

I just went to the Walmart for the first time earlier today and it was the worst experience ever. As I walked in, I asked the first associate where the baby formulas were located, she threw her apron over her shoulder and stated«nope, I’m off.» All I needed was a simple answer or directions to the isle, I didn’t need a rude response as to why you can’t point me in the right direction. As if that wasn’t enough, when I got in line to pay for my items, the cashier decides that she doesn’t want to take anymore costumers and claims that her register is closed. Another associate walks up to us and proceeds to ask the other cashier if she can take us before she closes. As I was turning my head to look at her answer, she makes the nastiest face and states no with a vulgar attitude so another cashier decides to take us. As we follow the cashier, the precious cashier who states she was closed says«I’ll take the next person in line». Are you kidding me? What happened to professionalism? A job is a job and it should be done to the best of your ability. This is by far the worst customer service ever. I don’t even know how this company hires people who clearly look/act like they don’t want to be there. I will never come back to this Walmart again. I recommend everyone to go to a different location.

Went to same store to check out electronics. Gal clerk very preoccupied with helping one "from the district." He just wanted to stand around and prove that. Many clerks at this store have this resentful look as if they believe only "district" people have the right to feel comfortable shopping there. So I dont care how cheap anything is, with an attitude like that no amount of cs training can cure.

I am so very happy to have the convenience of a Walmart in my neighborhood. Today 11AM the energy in the store was not good. At the customer service desk the hot headed, young male, Walmart Associate raised his voice and cursed at a customer, all as a result of waiting on a Manger. Then I purchased a gift card and got the run around about the gift card envelope which I never received. I asked the same hot head Associate if they had an envelope for the gift card he said he don’t know and walked away. Does Walmart have customer service training?

I have shopped at the new Walmart Fort Totten 3 times. It is the closest Walmart to my home. I do not like the customer experience in this store. I feel like I am in prison. My first sour experience was with the security officer who checks your receipt upon leaving her approach was too militaristic. Today as I passed through the security who was harassing a customer for not paying .05 for a grocer bag I noticed the security camera flashing to inform me I am being recorded as I leave the store. I find this a violation of my privacy and I will not shop this location. H St and Georgia Avenue do not make me feel this way. In a marketplace where there are so many alternatives I suggest this Walmart needs to think before throwing the proverbial baby out with the bath water.

This is easily the biggest walmart in the District and walking around it gives you the sensation of being out in the suburbs without the hassle of actually going to the suburbs. They have the standard tricked out electronics section that is pretty handy if you are not super picky. I use the straight talk phone service for my kids phone. The grocery section is really impressive and allows you to do a complete shopping trip without needing to visit the burbs. I still say support the little guys when you can for all retail but if you must visit a WalMart you could do worse than this location.

Wednesday, October 28th: The opening day of the Walmart Supercenter @ Fort Totten Square, located at 310 Riggs Road NE. The parking garage has Row A-U parking, more than enough for shoppers. The store hours are 6:00am to Midnight. The aisles were stocked to capacity. Employees were welcoming and ready to assist. I walked the entire store and decided there would be no need for me to shop at the Georgia Avenue and H Street locations starting today, this will be my Walmart.
