Joe & Eggs

This is rather embarrassing to admit, however, they have been open since February 2012, however, I didn’t stumble into their location until this morning. I did see them yesterday while I was working, dancing out by the street trying to attract business. Evidently the dancing worked as I stopped there today for breakfast. First off, I have to give them huge props for fighting it out in such a tough economy. Second, they seem to be the REAL DEAL when it comes to a homegrown eatery. Friendly service, from the top down and a genuine approach to customer satisfaction. NOW… the FOOD. Typically I order my eggs sunny side up, however, I feel that over easy eggs are much more difficult to prepare correctly thus I ordered over easy. I was completely blown away by two of the most perfectly cooked over easy eggs I’ve ever had the pleasure of cutting into. The coffee was above par for diner coffee… sometimes we all forget that STARBUCKS isn’t the only place to get a good cup of Java. After devouring my eggs and some ham and hash browns (I’ll ask them to crisp them up a bit more for my personal taste next week) I was treated to the most delightful homemade biscuit ever. Piping hot, freshly baked, perfectly cooked and the texture was a work of art. My next dinner there will simply be biscuits and gravy, perhaps some cheese grits… or the owner recommended burger, which I will simply ask for a double. My initial impression of this establishment and it’s hardworking owner and employees is simply this, «I don’t feel I’ll ever get anything less than perfection dining here»! My only complaint (which my companion decidedly contradicted me on) was that the air conditioning could have been set a few degrees cooler… Other than that… what a place to grab good old fashioned food at EXTREMELY reasonable prices!
