My group skipped a movie at our nearest theatre to go to a farther theatre because someone wanted to try out its new lounge chairs. Thirty minutes before our chosen movie’s start time, it was sold out. We wanted to stay on this side of town due to our next plans, so we drove farther still to the Carmike 20. Realizing our desired movie was in high demand, we bought tickets and waited the 90 minutes until the next showing. The cashier was smiling and courteous. The Carmike 20 is good for waiting with tables and chairs along both sides of the lobby. You can get a soda and refill it from the Coca Cola mixer machine. I can’t think of what it’s called exactly but the ones with hundreds of choices. I found it a little odd the popcorn was being popped from a second story and dropped down to the lobby via chutes. I buy popcorn based on if I see it being fresh popped. Prices are overpriced as they are everywhere. You’re paying for the classic experience so it is what it is. Concessions cashier guy was friendly enough. Bathrooms have only a few stalls. There are four times as many in the chain of theaters I usually frequent. So when a movie let out there were lines out the door and when one stall was ruined, that created additional delay. One star off for small and dirty bathrooms. Previews-minus one star because I’m trying to be fair. I went into the theatre 15 minutes before show time. Commercials played for an additional 30 minutes past the movie air time!!! Someone in my party kept track. I knew it felt long. When my soda was out and another party member went to refill drinks and the previews were still going, I knew something was up. Five minutes of previews past the published start time, to allow late arrivals a buffer zone, is normal. Going as long as the Carmike went is beyond! In summary, this is a fine theatre if it’s your local one or you’ve got limited options for showings but is nothing extraordinary and does require a bit of patience.

Nice enough theatre, but it is PRICEY! My husband and I had some time to kill before we checked into our hotel so we decided to see a movie. My husband saw the 1:00 showing of The Avengers and I hung out and then saw the 1:50 showing of Get Hard. Given it was a Saturday matinée before 5:00, I expected it to be somewhat reasonable, but I was wrong. $ 8.25 for a matinée? Yikes. In regards to concessions, they have your regular options(popcorn, nacho’s, candy), but the costs seemed really high to me. $ 6.00 for a medium soda? If you want to go often, they have a frequent buyer card… You can get discounts towards movies, drinks, and popcorn. The theatres were clean and the staff were nice, but I would prefer to go to somewhere less expensive…

We went to see Catching Fire here last night. Of course I knew it would be a full theatre. What I didn’t expect was about $ 20 for two tickets. I guess I should have consulted the Unilocal reviews before going and asking about a student discount.

we checked movie times online, got to the theater and it did in fact have an 1100 o’clock showing… showed up and the doors were locked, went inside, talked to a manager and she just said«i dont know why it says that»…as im staring at the board inside showing an 1100 showing… i asked about a coupon or something and she looked at me like i was an idiot… no «oh, we will fix that» instead just keep having people show up for a showtime that doesnt exist, thanks for making me waste my time and gas, never going back. Also, their toilet seats are broken in half the stalls. it should be noyed this was at the Jefferson Point location

GREENLIGHTGO: The movie theater was spacious and the popcorn was delicious. The staff are friendly and will gladly help you to your movie! Plenty of parking and the screens are nice and large! Sound system was perfect! Not too loud or soft. I would definitely recommend this theater!

Pretty good spot if you’re on the north side. The heater broke once and coincidentally the movie shut down for 15 minutes right in the middle of it. The manager was a jerk about the lousy experience. But that seems to have been a one-time problem.

I agree the popcorn mix is cool. You can get your own flavors and watch great movies here. Its smaller than the Rave. The screens are big and the surround sound is nice.

Like your 3D movies with tasty popcorn? Well, they are even better with Carmike’s gourmet popcorn! Ask them for a mix of a few flavors — it is the ultimate movie-going experience. This theater is always clean and the seats are so comfortable! We far prefer it over Rave.

I am not a fan of this theater at all. Their customer service is terrible, as they refused to refund my money when they could not show a movie because a bulb had burned out, and said I could just see a different movie or the one I wanted to see later that day. It feels like they are always trying to save money as the temperature is literally freezing in the winter(I have seen my breath and never take off my coat) and sweltering in the summer. They are supposed to have«gourmet» popcorn, with multiple flavors, but it all tastes terrible and stale. The only upside that gets them above a one is that they have enough screens that they have more movie time and show a couple of movies other places do not. If the same movie is playing at similar times, I will always go somewhere else.
