We love this place, kids and adults both enjoy the food and atmosphere! The pizza alone is worth a trip in for carry out.

We were told to wait to be seated, even though there were empty seats because they had just sat a table for 14 and we needed to wait. Okay, I can understand not slamming the kitchen with orders. But, when most people sat after us got their drinks and meals before us then it becomes an issue. Table after us received their drinks, got their order taken and basket of bread. Our table sat first and are the last being served. Service is terrible and there is no remorse in our wait staff. Haven’t even tried the meal but it is already ruined due to the extremely poor service. Oh, just got word they don’t know«what is happening» with our order. This has been a very disappointing meal experience. Our waiter disappears and doesn’t see if we need anything unless I flag him down or ask another server for assistance. I’m done(Mike drop) Update, food didn’t come out so we left. Waited for Paul, the manager, and he comped our drinks plus a discount for next visit. Claims it was the computer but who knows. Up in the air if we will take up Paul’s discount.

If I were simply going to review the Rueben or the chicken wings then I’d give them a 10! I’ve been into this restaurant several times. The menu is pretty large in its selection. This is a weird place though, it’s in a strip mall that’s kinda abandoned and the décor of the place isn’t cozy or welcoming. You can tell they did not put much money into switching it from a Chinese buffet to Dannys.(ex are drop ceiling, small space booths, bad lighting) however the prices are quite high for what you get, mostly on the entrée side. I’ve tried the chicken Marsala which is just served ONTOP of plain spaghetti, the eggplant parm(with spaghetti) the fettuccine Alfredo(pretty good) Hamburger and fries(pretty good) Rueben(perfect) Chicken wings(the best!) more of the cons are the awful salad bar, with dry iceberg lettuce. I did an upgrade to the Caesar Salad($ 4 up) The pizza is very good, a bit pricey $ 22 for a large 2 topping. I guess I compare the prices to that of Casa’s which has always dominated the area for Italian, the same Chicken Marsala at Casa’s comes with a loaded side salad and choice of pasta and BREAD at the table for the same price. My first visit shortly after they opened we ordered pizza and it came with bread? But it seems they’ve discontinued this practice. Some of the other pros are the friendly staff, everyone helps at the customers table, clearing plates, filling drinks etc. My recommendations to Paul the manager are… Warm the place up with better lighting, lower the«art work» on the walls, do something with that generic unattended to salad bar in the BRIGHTROOM, add bread to the tables, it’s too late to update the aesthetics of the place. The prices do not fit the restaurant. I DO hope this place makes it with a few tweaks it might stand a chance.

Received a coupon in the mail, was looking for someplace different, so we decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! Don’t discount this place just because the shopping center itself has seen better days… the restaurant was quite nice, the pizza was really good, and the service was excellent. I don’t really understand the bad reviews, as our experience was really good, and I cannot wait until the next time. We couldn’t decide which pizza to have(thick or thin), so we elected to have both. Unfortunately, having both did not help, as the flavors are so different… we really liked both styles. My suggestion is to try them both and see for yourself. In a town that is over-run with lousy chain pizza places, this was a great change of pace.

This place is not terrible but I was not impressed. For starters the sign says SPORTSBAR. I was expecting a much more casual sports bar atmosphere bar-like food. There did appear to be a separate bar room in the back of the restaurant but we chose to sit out in the main restaurant, which had a sort of upscale feel to it. THE $ 6 garlic parmesan onion rings were neither garlicky or parmesany. They tasted like any frozen onion rings you can buy at Walmart. The bacon cheddar burger was too thick and very blah. The patty melt was the best thing we ordered because it had a lot of cheese on it. Overall the food was way too mediocre for the price. Our total bill for 2 burgers, fries and onion rings(no drinks) was about $ 32. The owner and/or manager did come by to check on us once, which was nice. And I’ve heard several people recommended the pizza so I suppose if you’re going to eat here you should probably go with pizza.

Visited late lunch on a Saturday and we were not impressed for a variety of reasons. The atmosphere in the dining room is lacking. It is all hard surfaces, wide open like a cafeteria, and had a huge super bright area that had no tables but did have a huge sign that said«deli coming soon» and was the location of the small and unimpressive salad bar. The chairs are hardwood seats, the floor is a hard solid surface, the walls have paintings that are hung way high up on the wall, and to boot the music was too loud. Not at all intimate, inviting, or warm. Nice big picture window… that looks out onto a parking lot is another defining feature. Oh the food. Unlike every other Italian restaurant we frequent, Danny’s did not have a lunch menu(OK so it was Saturday but…) they also didn’t have any lower priced lunch features. Yes that’s right — unlike Casa’s, Zianos, or Salvarori’s — NO lunch specials. We were only able to order from their regular dinner menu. Noticed the Asian spring rolls on the appetizer menu and did a double-take. Raw spring rolls in an Italian place — yes that is correct. They were good with two large shrimp in each roll and they were very fresh. Only complaint is that the chef ground what appeared to be black pepper into the cabbage to give it a little kick. Would be better off using a flavor more traditionally Asian like ginger or similar. The spaghetti dinner comes with choice of salad bar or side and marinara sauce. If you want a meatball it is $ 2 extra. It also had a single very small piece of bread. It was just OK at best. I was disappointed that the meal did not come with any table side bread — which again is a staple at most other places. And for goodness sake if you are not going to do bread at the table at least give a few nice pieces with the meal. Very disappointed overall. Had an 8″ thin crust pizza and it too was just OK. The crust did not taste homemade, and it lacked any kind of unique authentic flavor. You can tell the quality of the pizza by ordering plain cheese, otherwise the flavor you are tasting is from the ingredients. The taste should shine through from the sauce, crust, and cheese blend. Again disappointed. Overall I will probably not visit this place again as there are just too many options in town with better Italian and better pizza pies. Oh and by the way the bill for two with tip for the above with one soda and one water was $ 35 — yikes.

The issues: 1.)it’s difficult to reach everything on the salad bar if you’re short. Things should be labelled on the salad bar as well 2.) the hostess and owner both interrupted us in the lobby when we ran into a friend. Nobody was behind us, why were they in a hurry to seat us? 3.) the waitress kept telling us that it wouldn’t be long before our food was done. She was making me anxious! I didn’t care! She told us this at least 4 times. So… The food was good. The décor is on the tacky side, the customer service seems okay but not the most professional, the restaurant is clean. Will I return? Probably if Casa’s and Ziano’s are packed.

Saw reviews and pictures of food. The«Award winning» prime rib looked amazing. The picture I’m referring to is here in Unilocal. So, we go there on a Saturday night and we already know what we want. That prime rib! Go to order and the waitress says they don’t have prime rib and doesn’t think they have ever had prime rib. Umm wth? So, ended up settling on something that I really didn’t want. I went there for one reason. What I had was good. But, the reason for the 3 star rating instead of 4 star rating is either because of Falsely advertising a product you don’t even serve or the waitress not being educated enough on the menu. Either way. that was really disappointing. I will gladly change my rating to a 4 star rating once the picture of the prime rib and the picture of the menu showing you guys having prime rib is taken down.

Danny’s has some of the best pizza I’ve had in the Fort Wayne area. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing and modern. I will definitely be back to try all their other great dishes!

2nd visit. Sat in the dining room on the first. Sat in the sports bar the second. Had the feature which was roasted chicken with veggies in the dining room. Food was good and plentiful.. Waiter was alright but a lot to learn about the finer points of serving. As to the salad bar, it needs work. It is far to bright in the large room designated for the salad bar/deli. Also the selections are limited(no croutons, peas, mushrooms, nuts or sunflower seeds, tomatoes, etc) All in all, the food was alright but they need to work on the atmosphere if they want to be successful.

My daughter and her fiancé have been telling me how good the pizza is at Danny’s. I am VERY particular about pizza and take it serious. I’ve tried pizza all over North America and have only found a few I would really recommend. Danny’s has taken a close 2nd place. It is VERY good. If you haven’t tried it… you should. We ordered a thin crust with pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and pepperoncini. The thin crust has a good neutral flavor and is crispy all the way to center. To get this crust is not an easy feat, but Danny’s has it mastered. The sauce is tomato based and not overpowering. The sausage — is superbly spiced and is topped in generous amounts. The pepperoni is good, but I will leave it off next time … only because I add pepperoni as a life line — it can save a bad pizza. This is not a pizza that needs saving. I highly recommend this Italian Grill. Fort Wayne is fortunate to have such a place.

Stopped in for the first time today during the lunch hour and were seated fairly quickly. Our server came to the table right away and was fairly attentive throughout our visit. His friendly attitude helped make the dining experience nice. We started off with the Italian salad which we enjoyed. The salad included pepperoni, olives, Italian dressing, and cheese. It was pretty good! For the main course, I opted for the chicken Parmesan and my wife enjoyed a small portion of the 10 inch Chicago deep dish… Which was a monster —and delicious. The chicken Parmesan was really good. The chicken was juicy and tender and the breading on the outside helped give nice flavor to the dish. In addition, the chicken Parmesan included a side of spaghetti — also good. Garlic cheese bread was served at an additional cost and included a side of marinara. The verdict is in: We will be returning to Danny’s to enjoy more from the menu! Can’t wait to return.

First thing priced to high for what it is, at least the deep dish pizza. I had heard the guys are from Chicago so I had dreams of a girodanos style pizza, instead I got dominos with a better sauce with a burnt crust and I couldn’t taste the garlic at all. Second I ordered garlic cheese bread instead I came home with the goat cheese and marinara. Oh well.

We went today on a whim after reading the JG review. Don’t let the drab shopping center it is located at stop you from going in. The servers and the manager were very friendly and attentive. The place was clean and had a new interior with a tan and green color scheme. There is a stone arch near the entrance that will be part of a deli in the future. The pictures and décor are sparse, and just your generic décor you buy at Wal-Mart. Since the owner is from Chicago, I suggest a vintage collection of Chicago photographs along with authentic decorations. The big window in the dining room needs softened with simple curtains made of cotton or linen or some woven wood shades. We ordered goat cheese dip, eggplant parmigiana, and an Italian salad. The dip was very tasty with a smooth complex marinara base. The crostini were very flavorful and complimented the dip. Just put more of them on the plate. It could have been served warmer. The eggplant parmigiana was delicious with a flavorful eggplant and breading that was just right. There was Plenty of cheese and sauce to absorb the flavors. The Italian salad cost more but was worth it. The Italian dressing was tasty without overwhelming the other flavors of the peppers, olives and pepperoni, and mozzarella. All in all a great experience!

Going to have to start this one off with the bad. When I say bad, I truly mean bad. The pizza I had here was down right terrible. I’m sure this crust was bought in frozen crust, and was not hand made. My god if this crust is hand made then FIRE the chef and hire a new one. Any grocery store bought pizza is better than this one. The sauce was bland and the tomato slices were uneven thick cut tomato steaks. By far the worst pizza I have ever had. Plus for $ 17 I should have been paid to eat it. Over priced crap. Now the good. Server was nice and attentive, good beer selection. The fried calamari was good, not the best I had but good The goat cheese dip was good. But for $ 9 it was over priced. That being said it was 25% off pizza night here, and thank god for that because even with the discount, 1 medium pizza, 3 drinks and 2 small sized apps after tip was $ 53. For a small Italian sports bar, located in a trifling location I promise this place won’t last. Seriously, though if that’s the best they can do with that pizza, somebody needs fired or the whole damn place is going under. Will most definitely not return. 1 star goes to the server, the other star to the damn squid.

Nice clean atmosphere. Many beers on tap and many in bottles. We got a spinach salad – nothing too fancy but everything was fresh. The blue cheese dressing was great! Also ordered a cup of the gnocchi soup. It was good as well! Pizza is on special tonight. We got pepperoni and green olive. Tons of cheese and came out piping hot. So good! The manager was great. Very friendly and chatted with us for awhile. Bartender was attentive and helpful! We will definitely be back! 10÷26÷15 we went back! I got the same salad… love that blue cheese dressing! Tried the pork belly burger and it was good – crisp bacon on top and a delicious bun. Also ordered the butternut squash ravioli. It was very rich, but good! Spaghetti and meatballs was another great option! We may be their new«regulars»!

The Fettuccini Alfredo was so creamy, by far the best we have found in town so far. The pasta was perfect and the sauce stayed creamy, seems like everywhere else in town the sauce tends to get lumpy after sitting a bit. The pizza had a super crisp crust and was very tasty. The feta cheese appetizer needs more bread with it, our son liked it and really loved the the vegetable soup. Also tried the veal parmesan on a bed of pasta and it was okay, not as good a my wife’s home made and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The service from Heath our server was excellent, we had full drinks all the time and he did a great job.

We saw it on Tuesday on Facebook so we tried it on a whim. We had the Cheese fries and Goat Cheese spread. They were good. The sour cream was very Chive tasting. Outstanding. The deep dish takes 30 minutes and they let us know so we got it ordered right away. The place is so new it was not very full but the room was nicely Italian. The bottle beer was cold and the staff was very interactive and kept the soda’s full for the kids. Pizza came out nice and hot. It was really tasty and not super soggy. We added there meats and it was really fresh. I will say that the food and staff exceeded my expectations. And the bill for 4 adults with 2 apps, 4 beers, 2 sodas and a designer Deep Dish was under $ 80 with a tip was a great thing. Welcome to Ft Wayne!
