My lifetime crafting highlights are: 1. A burlap/yarn based hooking rug kit, which I am not sure I ever finished. 2. A homemade lamp that almost burned the house down. 3. A stuffed bear, that ended up looking more like a stuffed dog. So, based on the above track record and 4 kids on 6 different sports teams at the moment, work, house, my sports, school events, etc, etc, etc… it should be easy to see how I see«waste of time» floating above almost each row in this«larger than it looks from the outside» store. Maybe when I retire I will pickup some hobbies to occupy my time. In the meantime, here are some things I love about the store that actually saves me some time. 1. Christmas ornaments and artificial trees. Bigger selection here than in most big box stores. 2. Picture frames. Lots of selections, and pretty inexpensive. 3. Pinewood derby supplies… not so helpful for me now, but definitely good beginner stuff. 4. Small boxes or crates. My wife loves this place, but she has even less time than I do for hobbies. I have a feeling we will be going here a lot in about 20 years.

I got some framing done here. They did a really nice job and staff was very professional. The matting on one was darker than the sample at the store, but not a big deal. I hadn’t been to a Hobby Lobby in years and so I didn’t realize: they have a HUGESELECTIONOFCLOCKS. Aisles of clocks. That is aisles plural, OK? Everywhere we went had maybe 5 – 10 different styles of clocks and they all looked the same. Hobby Lobby had clocks in every size and style. Both my mother and I spent a month shopping for clocks and it never even occurred to us to check out Hobby Lobby. The next time I need a clock, I’ll be back here for sure.
