Ziffle’s Rib Bar

Zero stars. Horrible chemical smell permeates the walls that nauseates and burns the throat. Couldn’t even stomach taking a sip of my water. I’m sure the food might be good though. Give the establishment a good run-​through by the hazmat squad and I might be back.

The first time I went to ziffles I had a sausage roll and it was pretty okay-​ish, nothing exciting. Hubby had ribs and was very pleased. Tonight, however is another story. We both ordered ribs and… oh…mah…gawd…unbelievably dry. I couldn’t even tear the bones away from each other because the meat was so tough! Incredibly dissapointing, it’s certainly not living up to the hype. St. Louis style ribs definitely aren’t my fave anyways, but I definitely don’t prefer my ribs the texture of a hockey puck. Get it together Ziffles!

Well, whatever problem I used to have with them forgetting to put in my massive orders of food has been fixed. I would like to think it is because they got 4 stars from me on Unilocal and wanted to earn that 5^th star. My dad and I were coming about every Saturday for lunch during the college football season (yeah, they are open on Saturday’s now. They’d probably like you to know this so you can frequent them during Saturday afternoon’s as well) and the waitresses were ALWAYS fantastic and friendly. They now seem to know our order before we even sit down. I’m nothing if not predictable. Anyway, this place still has the best ribs, it is still just about as physically far from my house as another place in Fort Wayne could possibly get, and it is still the mayor of Ribleyville (baseball season just started, so sue me). As my hero Guy Fieri would say, «Hey now, you’re an all-​star!»

I don’t really like ribs but theirs are great. You get so much food it’s crazy. I love this place.

The food and service were both awesome! DO NOT order the Barnyard as a table of two… it’s so much food. So. Much. Food.

Our family loves to gather. Usually 20 people at a time.
We had started meeting up at Ziffles. The first time the youngest hosts weren’t very cordial. but we over looked it.
The servers were alright.
The next few times were better. We were lucky and had a very nice young lady named Tiffany as our server.
Sadly we gathered to celebrate a family birthday. And the woman who attended to us setting up tables for our large party was in no way pleased with our presents. She was rude. and to
off. The birthday lady was served raw chicken after being the last person served quite some time after the rest of our party. Thank you Tiffany for your great service. Unfortunately we will not be returning! :/

First time I went in I loved it! Service, food and atmosphere was great! Second time the food was awful. My wings only had sauce on the top of them. The service was extremely rude and the workers were so unprofessional. I drive 27 minutes for this place and expect it to me worth every minute, after this time I don’t see myself making the drive again. Very sad but it’s just not worth the money.

I wasn’t really pleased with the rib tips too much fat. The only reason why I ordered the tips because people stated that they were delicious.

Just not impressed. I really need to start sticking with, i’ve not been there in 15+ years, don’t necessarily remember why, oh that’s why, UCK.
Pulled pork, the flavor was just off and this is another restaurant that bc I ask for no bun gives me WAY more meat than any bun could hold. This is not impressive to me. Reasonable Portions Please.

Excellent ribs. I was in Fort Wayne for work this place had good reviews.
I had the fried mac and cheese as an appetizer, which were nothing to write home about… but the ribs and fries were great! Service gets a 10. Friendly staff.

Always good food. Great selection. The Hog Trough is delicious. The bbq is always good. The rest of the menu has always been spot on.
Great lunch place for meetings too.

What can I say about Ziffle’s that hasn’t been said??? I worked there for almost 5 years and loved every minute. The family that owns it, The Dennis family is by far the nicest family you’ll meet in town and they’ll go the distance to make sure you’re happy:)
If you’re wanting ribs… Go for the half slab! You can’t go wrong and you can take some home:) if you don’t like spicy stick with mild, you have to try their medium at least once… Once you do… You’ll never go back, unless you’re into hot, go for the cayenne pepper HOT. The rib tips are meaty and hearty and yummy. I personally loved to mix my fries with rib tip meet and that made an awesome forkful. If you want a sandwich you really can’t go wrong with anything! The pulled pork is huge and you’ll end up using a fork. The roast pork is awesome and is my boyfriends personal favorite. The ham and cheese is amazing and light… Ask them to put medium sauce on it for the perfect kick and the veggieboli and it’s amazing feta cheese is the next best thing to a salad ;) oh their salads! The house salad dressing is flavorful and I crave it even after all these years, make sure they mix it up for you or if you take it for carry out put the dressing on and shake it in the box. The appetizers are amazing, yes all of them. The bruschetta pizza will never let you down as well as the cheese fries and pickles.
I’m not a big sausage lover but the rolls that come out of that oven are hugeeee! Even the half rolls are monstrous. My favorite roll was a pepperoni roll with mozzarella and onions and green peppers. It was so greasy but it was my go to after many hot nights working in that kitchen.
This place has been around for a while and people still keep coming back… As do I! If you need a little piece to take home… Ask for a pint of sauce and stick it in your fridge… That sauce is addicting and you will never get the recipe so don’t ask! :) love my Ziffles

The BEST ribs in Fort Wayne! Hands down! Again, it is cramped in here, but it doesn’t bother you when you get your delicious baby backs!

Haven’t been back there in a while because the food was so inconsistent but last night we were in the area and decided to give it another try. the bar was full but there were three empty tables in the dining room when we got Sat. it took a solid 10 minutes for us to even get greeted by a server. Then when she took our order she laughed when I asked for a water. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad and my boyfriend ordered the ribs. His ribs were alright they weren’t very warm and my salad was iceberg lettuce mix out of a bag with one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato and two tiny little rings of onion and some cheese. Then they gave me a warm packet of ranch like it had been sitting in the food window. $ 7 for a barbecue chicken salad with three little fried chicken strips on it and it was packed of iceberg lettuce and the only thing good about it was the barbecue sauce. it probably cost under $ 1 to make that salad. I think Ziffles has gone way downhill over the years and they’re cutting back and skimping on the food to try and make an extra buck. Won’t be back for their cheap salads or microwaved ribs.

My husband and I have frequented Ziffles for years and have never been disappointed! Excellent in all respects!

Pretty disappointing to say the least. They have gone down hill. The other person in my party ordered the rib tip basket and it was inedible. There were dried up bones in the basket and a fist sized ball of fat in the rib tips. We told our waitress who was unapologetic and did not tell a manager because no one came to our table. To top it off they left the food on the bill that he didn’t eat. We won’t be coming back.

Portion size is good, price is good, & staff was friendly. I stopped in on my way to South Bend. I had ordered the combo basket (¼ ribs & ¼ chicken), my better half ordered the zifboli, & my uncle ordered the pulled pork. My meal was bbq in the terms it had bbq sauce on it. There was no smoke flavor, meat had an ok taste. My better half barely ate hers, she said the sausage was like dog food. My uncle finished his meal, but said it was lackluster. This place was ok, but there are other options.

Great ribs and BBQ. Price and portions are killer. My only complaint which I’m can respect so I will not reduce a star is that they’re not open on Sundays which I’m free to go to on that day. Oh well. Great yummy food.

Getting good BBQ is rare, it’s either really dry or has no flavor but Ziffle’s blew my mind. It’s a small place in a strip mall next to Kroger in Georgetown square.
I ordered the fried pickle spears to start with and they were so good! They didn’t fall apart when you cut them or bit into them.
They have $ 1.00 bud light, Budweiser and amber bock, that’s right I said $ 1.00! There smaller glasses but a pint is available for $ 3.
For dinner I got the rib basket that comes with fries and garlic bread. I got my fries with cheese on them which had cheddar, mozzarella and Parmesan and was given ranch to dip them in! It was enough food for an army.
The service was excellent and had great conversation with our waitress who suggested items on the menu.
If your in Fort Wayne, stop by this bargain gem. Friendly, everything was made to order, local and I left so full I had to be rolled out the door.

We were home for the holidays and my parents wanted to take us to «The Best BBQ in Ft. Wayne» as they had been told. We arrived on a Saturday night and the place appeared rather busy. The 5 of us were promptly seated at a round table near the front of the restaurant. We immediately noticed how cold it was in the restaurant. We all put our coats back on and left them on! As we looked around, many other tables also had their coats on.
The menu consists of many options that are all rather reasonable. All the men at my table were able to get the special of rib tips for $ 5! That is a really good deal! My mom and I split the Combo Basket and we had PLENTY of food. The Chicken was my favorite.
Here is the good and bad of the overall meal.
The good:
— Chicken was super moist and tasty
— Ribs had good BBQ sauce
— Tasty BBQ sauce
— Reasonable prices
The bad:
— Freezing cold in the restaurant
— Slow to get our food
— Fries were rubbery and cold
— Wish there would have been BBQ sauce at the table
I would come back but would bundle up for the cold atmosphere.
