Ha! NEVER let a girl pick a venue. I was surprised to find that the reservation was taken at the last minute without a problem. Then we realised why when we arrived: the restaurant was closed! Although I felt a little bad, I felt worse for the next guys who rolled up after us: they had their anniversary dinner booked there!

Large group showed up on a Saturday night with no reservation. I figured we were in trouble when they could seat us immediately. Short staffed but they did a great job with service. No complaints as our waitress worked hard and was organized. The food however was under whelming. If you want a $ 28 ribeye that might be thicker than a steak-umm — this is your place. Nobody in our party left saying it was a good meal.

I’ve been to Brownstone a few times and have always had great food. For brunch I’ve had the frittata, the veggie omelet, the fried okra, etc. They have bottomless mimosas(or I got a poinsettia) for $ 10. They also have a great build-your-own mimosa or bloody mary deal. SO many options to rev up your plain BM or Mim. Check out their great HH specials! That being said, every single time I’ve gone the service has been terrible, consistently awful. Our waitstaff has not been attentive, will leave for long periods of time, forget orders… ugh. Hence the three stars. Great brunch, terrible service.

It’s a game of hide and seek that only the most experienced Fort Worth socialites can handle. The short staffed bartenders hide when you need a drink, and seek you in attempt to double charge your(already closed out) tab. Note: Keep your receipt handy and be ready to negotiate with the staff. If you can put up with the bull shit service and mediocre brunch food this place is actually kind of legit if you’re a 19 year old TCU girl looking for an easy entry on a Thursday night. Thursdays are ladies nights, so if you want to take advantage of the $ 1 champ make sure you get there before they run out, because trust me, THEYWILL! This place has potential: crisp menus and better service would really class this establishment up. Great spot for happy hour, chill patio, and make sure to say«brownstone» at the parking attendant no matter where you go on 7th if you want to take advantage of the free parking. Note: 0−3hrs=free, 3−6hrs =free, 6−9hrs … Get the pattern? NO! This doesn’t extend to overnight guests, so if you get too drunk and leave your car in the garage make sure to sneak back in before noon — you can work the system and avoid a $ 40 fee if you tag team it with a friend and drive fast by the gate.

I ate brunch before I came here for brunch, so I was too full to actually enjoy my meal. However, their BYOBM was delicious. Thanks, me, for my excellent taste in breakfast alcohol. Good thing I paid for it at the bar then the waiter chased me across the restaurant accusing me of not paying because I closed out with another waitress. But really, this place should have bottomless Bloody Mary’s.

I came here for brunch with a friend and had a lovely time catching up in such a beautiful and classy restaurant. I love the brown décor and lighting in here… I’m sure it’s even more beautiful at night. We started out with a couple of orders of bottomless mimosas. Unfortunately, the mimosas were not good. There was hardly any champagne to accompany the dark, thick orange juice. I would never recommend anyone ordering mimosas from here. For an appetizer, we order the Crab Cakes, and they were wonderful. The cakes were cooked just right and had the best dipping sauce that gave the plate more character. I would definitely order these again. I had the Belgian Waffle without any toppings, and it was one of the best waffles I’ve had in the DFW metroplex. If my stomach would have had room for a second waffle, it would have been ordered on the spot. Give this place a try!

Went with a group of 4, our server was Sam and he was super friendly and fast. We started with the Crab cakes, Tempura Mushrooms, and Steak Quesadillas all of which were amazing. For entrees we all ordered something different so we could share Ribeye, Pan seared salmon, and two pasta dishes. also had to have a side of that crawfish mac, because come on, its crawfish mac. everything was great really good food, fast and friendly service, what more could you ask for?

Honestly, it was just OK. I bought a burger because all they had was their brunch menu at 12:30 p.m. so it was that or eggs benedict. It tasted frozen. Like it had been frozen for a year. It was so terrible. I did like their drinks, the build your own Mimosa and Bloody Marys are really cool… that’s really all I have to say. I’ve come here for drinks at night too, when it turns into a bar. It’s pretty trashy, and you can’t reach the bar, and there’s no where to move.

Meh… Mediocre American food located in a nice area of Fort Worth. That is all I have to say.

«Dude, that place was foul.» — my brother Easily the worst food I have had in recent memory. Went for a happy hour last week. Of a table of 6 people, no one thought the food was good. My calamari was undercooked and had to be sent back because it still had raw batter on the inside of some of the rings. The quesadilla had no flavor at first but finished with a slight hint of dog food. The margherita pizza had cheddar on it. Cheddar. At least the fries weren’t effed up. Atmosphere is kinda cool, except that a ceiling panel fell while I was in the bathroom and a huge amount of water ended up all over the floor somehow. I dunno. Ish happens. But you don’t really have room for ish to happen when your food sucks. I give it 6 months, charitably. Update: On a positive note, if you sit on the patio you can watch the steady stream of bros from the LA Fitness. Dinner and a show!

Had the shrimp and grits on the lunch special. Pretty good, although really salty. Interested to see how their other dishes turn out. Next time I’ll go for dinner or maybe a girl’s night out on a Thursday. Waiter was nice and there wasn’t much of a wait, although it was on a Monday at lunch.

Came here to dinner with my parents to show them around West/7th and although the area is very nice as well as the restaurant’s appearance, food is over priced and mediocre. I ordered the«fan favorite’s» Sea Scallops and found little to no taste. My mom had the pomegranate beer can chicken which had good flavor but a little too dry for me. Dad had the shrimp po boy and said if it wasn’t for the sauce there would be nothing extraordinary about this sandwich. For appetizer we had steak quesadillas which definitely didn’t deserve the $ 10 price tag as there, once again, was nothing special about it. Crème brûlée was OK but I will admit the banana pudding was quite delicious. However this place is wonderful at night to hang out with friends and have some tasty drinks, the Basil Gimlet being one of my favorites. Food wise I think you would save more money going elsewhere. Maybe just a bad first dining experience, or maybe was just expecting too much. Either way, eh.

The place looks nice and its in a great location in Fort Worth. However, the food was just okay for me. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish poboy. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. The shrimp and crawfish were kind of sparse in my opinion. My friends ordered the chicken fried steak and it was too bland for their liking. I want to point out that even though my review seems pretty bad, I will probably give this place another try the next time I’m in Fort Worth. It might have been that we were all drunk and the early onset of a hangover was kicking in from our 5 hour daytime drinking binge at the beer festival earlier that day… Come to think of it, we really shouldn’t have been out that night… So in closing, I will definitely give Brownstone the benefit of the doubt!

I felt like a major d-bag after my visit here. It was Easter Sunday night and my bff and I wanted to a nice meal with some delicious wine, so Brownstone was on the table, especially after we saw people dining on the patio. We walked right in and told the hostess two for dinner. Without hesitation, she sat us. Halfway through our delectable evening, we found out that they closed at 9pm(a few minutes before we walked in), but we never would have known. Their staff handled it wonderfully, including our server who never rushed us. We sipped on a lovely pinot, and went a little crazy with the menu ordering the crawfish mac and cheese, make your own bruschetta, fried crawfish and onion rings, and a balsamic flatbread. Most memorable, hands down the crawfish mac and cheese. The make your own bruschetta concept was cool — goat cheese, tomatoes, and balsamic served in individual tiny jars that you spooned onto the toast yourself. The true standout of the evening was the hatch chile berry tart that we finished with. It blew the subpar peach cobbler out of the water. We enjoyed the patio as it was a more casual option than the upscale interior, what with the romantic lounge area and banquette-style dining area. As long as you’re okay with the occasional bumping of 90’s country or R&B as the super cool downtown Fort Worth scenesters drive by, it’s a lovely setting.

This is my first sub-par review of an establishment. And it’s for a reason. We walked in at 12:30 and were immediately seated, which was a plus. Our brunch went downhill quickly after that. It took them a full 30 minutes to even take our appetizer orders, another 40 minutes before our food was delivered to our table. And our appetizer was delivered after our entrees came, a full hour before the main course So let’s talk about the food now. The streak quesadillas are absolutely delicious. I had a bite of a friend’s and immediately ordered the same. I wish they had arrived before the entrée, but I digress. I had ordered the farmer’s omelette, and a friend ordered the Texas Omelette. Both of our eggs were burnt. Her steak was overlooked as well and haphazardly thrown into the middle. While my omelette was trying to be something it clearly wasn’t destined to be. I chose this restaurant because the reviews were middle-of-the-road and I figured that people were biased, and I should take the critique with a grain of salt. But after spending my Sunday afternoon here, I have come to the realization that the reviews were factual and well-grounded. I can assure you that I will not be here again. I gave this establishment two stars only because of the steak quesadillas. And nothing else. If it weren’t for that. I would’ve given them one star. I had high hopes for Brownstone, I really did. But they have miles of rough road ahead of them unless they change their operating and implementing style.

This is a convenient place to grab a quick drink or something to eat if you’re in this shopping center, but it’s not my favorite. It’s definitely a trendy spot with decent food(I’ve tried their shrimp po’boy and it was really good!) and drinks(their frozen cucumber cocktail is quite tasty), but their service is a turn off. The last time I was here, the hostess was rude and our server was not attentive. We were originally going to order something to drink and eat, but she assumed we were only there for a drink and never asked us for our food order. We decided to take that as a major hint to get food somewhere more affordable and with better service. I would recommend that if you’re in the area, try this spot for yourself, but if you’re a stickler about bad service like me, you’ve been fair warned!

I’ve been many times for many reasons and each experience can be summed up overall with pretty good, yet over-priced food with mediocre service in a great location that’s not too bad, but not your first choice either. Ha. That makes sense, doesn’t it? If it doesn’t, continue reading… I recommend the ‘build your own bruschetta’ and crab cakes as appetizers.(And as of recently, check in on Unilocal and get ½ off an app!) As for entrees, I have actually had a dream about the Seafood Pasta. That pappardalle pasta marries beautifully with the sauce made of roasted tomatoes, chorizo, shrimp, crab and crawfish. Clearly, that’s my go-to dish. If you’re looking for snacky things while hanging out and drinking, go for the flatbreads and a side of the crawfish mac and cheese. Thursday night is ladies night, meaning $ 1 champagne and free appetizers for groups of 4 or more unescorted ladies. Brunch is ok, but not the greatest. The build-your-own-bloody mary has a million options, but isn’t really worth it. Go for the $ 7 bottomless mimosa but don’t bank on finding outstanding breakfast food. Also, don’t expect big portions, but do expect big prices. Sometimes they’re worth it, but there are so many other options around the area that you don’t have to give in.

Brownstone is a place you enjoy on a lazy Saturday afternoon when you have 2 – 3 hours to kill and maybe those 2 – 3 hours would be better with some booze. Well, in our case anyway, this was the case. We were lollygagging around Ft. Worth and had a significant amount of time to kill between our excellent visit to the Kimbell and and our even better experience at Lonesome Dove. Through of the fog, appeared Brownstone — A chic exterior and interior with a sleek design and comfortable feel. It boasts an elegant bar with an adjacent living room area. That’s right a living room area. Couches yield a comfy zone with flat screen TVs imbedded into a sophisticated bookcase. The remaining design of the restaurant is what I like to call industrial loft meets trendy: A lot of exposed brick, linear lines, beams and and pillars, yet with a touch of whimsical color and design seen in the minor details. We enjoyed a delicious spinach and artichoke dip. Uh Muh Gawd — it was unlike any run-of-the-mill spinach and artichoke dip I had had before. It was almost mac and cheese with artichoke — my kind of meal.

The Brownstone was a nice surprise. It is located in a trendy part of town. We actually came upon this restaurant accidentally since we originally wanted to check out Fred’s, but they were packed. The interior of the restaurant is really quite chic, with a wonderful open sofa seating area in front of a very inviting fireplace. We took our usual seat up at the bar and perused the menu. They had lot’s of great looking dishes. We were just going to have a few bites since we had dinner plans to eat at Bob’s Chop House in the Omni where we were staying. Josh, the bartender suggested a couple of appetizers and we settled on the Buffalo Wing Hummus and the Bacon, Spinach, Artichoke Spread. I opted for a Rahr beer, awesome and Suzie got a dark stout which was also equally as tasty. Our appetizers arrived, and the Buffalo Hummus was really very good! Spicy and smooth at the same time. The Spread was also tasty. We kicked back in the laid back atmosphere finished our apps and had another round before we headed out. Price point seemed right and we will hook up with them again when we are back in Fort Worth.

Wooooooo! I get it. I really really get it. This place is fantastic. We stopped by for brunch on a Sunday morning. The restaurant is gorgeous. It’s clearly in a new development but definitely had a homey feel on the inside. We were sat in a great table and ordered a round of $ 5 bottomless mimosas. The brunch menu includes breakfast items and lunch’ish items. I ordered the Grandmother’s Biscuit Pan(fire roasted biscuits, farm fresh eggs, pork sausage). OMG amazing. The biscuits actually came to me in a little cast iron skillet with my own individual jelly jar and spoon. My eggs(which were allegedly going to be over easy but turned into sunny side up), were a little less cooked than I like but overall were fine. We looked for salt and pepper at the table(none, of course) but once we tasted the eggs, they had been salted juuuuuust right in the kitchen and it wasn’t needed after all. Our server was just okay. When we asked her for suggestions she(of course) suggested the most expensive item on the menu. She was slow with the refills on the«bottomless» mimosas. We were dining with my mother in law! Keep ‘em coming sister! Sheesh! She also dropped off the check before everyone had finished eating. The restaurant was mostly empty… it wasn’t like they were waiting for the table. Whatever. This is one of those restaurants where you overlook imperfect service for amazing food. I can’t wait to go back for dinner.
