Tried to go there tonight, was informed by the garage attendant that Lucky Strike has been closed for about 2 weeks now :(

The patio overlooking W 7th St obviously makes this a prime happy hour location. I’ve eaten a couple of appetizers here along with the veggie tacos and they’ve been great, however, the service can be slow at times.

The place has character. They play fun hip hop music which is the only place I know of in the area to do so– thumbs up. First time here not all impressions were positive. Let me just preface by saying we came to bowl. HOWEVER, this place is much more then just a bowling alley(how come nobody told me :/)! Having been a restaurant/bar GM and now a consultant, I felt sorry for the owners of this place. The staff is as apathetic as they come. No morale present and a lack of pride in their workplace. Obvious absence of any leadership. If I was to give owners a report, it would read like this. ~Not serving, only cleaning from 12 am forward ~Saran Wrap on bar taps 12am on ~Drinks empty for 10 minutes while sitting AT bar! ~Bowling alley: @ 1130 lanes open no ringing on the pager we were given and we are on wait list for over an hour ~Did I mention no asking if we need drinks when they go empty wtf! ~Very impersonal– no greetings, no small talk no service to be seen at all ~No management present until the end of the night when they show up at 130 for a brief second just to disappear again until close Now let me just say nobody likes closing duties. We all want to get home after 2am. But to sabotage your shift and future shifts by not RUNNING your bar business only ruins your tips kids! Make the most out of it and focus on the job at hand until 2. I imagine the managers-young and dressed casual– do not know how to run the place and probably do not care. I really don’t know how to sum it up so I’ll let you decide based on the observations. I really feel like the place has great potential… As it is this place was a «strike» out. I’ll give it another shot… Maybe they can pull out a spare. :))

We should have turned around when we saw that there was only one other group bowling-Granted it was a Monday night. For 40 an hour(that doesn’t include shoes) I would expect exceptional customer service. Our lane was not working for more than 10 mins and our time was wasting away. We asked for it be fixed and have our time re-set for the unused 10 – 15 mins, management VERY reluctantly gave us our time back. If I am paying close to 75 cents a minute I want make sure that every minute counts. Let’s just say that I’m sticking with main event from now on.

I went for a date night and we had an hour of bowling, dinner, and drinks. I had a chicken sandwich of some sort, which was ok. The bowling was fun, more upscale than your average place and it was sort of fun sharing a space with another group. Where we were you basically share a giant coffee table with the people across from you. We were thinking about having one more drink at the bar but when we went to pay our tab from the ‘bowling-side’ we were shocked and decided we’d had enough to drink :) Nice place, probably a once or twice a year spot for us. Too expensive to be regulars.

Pros — Nice lanes, modern stiing. Decent music and a good happy hour. Cons — Expensive, pushy waitresses, terrible food. Ordered three different things and could not eat any. Pizza had canned chicken on top.

Had a surprise party for my x here. It was super fun! Crowd loved bowling in such a cool atmosphere. Also got the continuous service food, it was as promised. We had as much as we could eat. Only issue was that you can’t go up to the lanes and decorate early because they book parties so close together… So plan ahead with plenty of hands to help!

I think Lucky Strike works better as a bar than a bowling alley. If you approach it as a bar with a few lanes on the side, you’re in a good position to enjoy your visit. If you’re a serious bowler, you’re probably better off elsewhere. I came with a few friends two weeks back, and we had mixed reactions. Walking in, you notice the nice atmosphere — like others have mentioned, Lucky Strike is inviting and well-appointed. It’s easy to imagine yourself settling into the comfortable seats, having a few beers, and having fun playing a set of games. Unfortunately, you might run into a snag here or there — and if you do, the service may not be all that helpful or accommodating. In our case, something in the computer scoring system was busted. If I knocked down nine pins, it would register six or seven. We were reasonably casual players, and so we ignored it until larger malfunctions appeared: pins wouldn’t appear when they were supposed to, and the lane would just randomly shut off. (We had paid by the hour, and so the lane being inoperative for a few minutes was a pretty big deal.) Our server had been coming by our table quite often, asking me if I wanted another beer. It wasn’t a busy night, and we were one of only two or three other tables. We brought up the issues with the lane with him, and he said«Oh, yeah, that happens sometimes.» Um — that was it. He didn’t posit a solution, and he just kind of left us hanging there. When he came back another minute or two later, we asked whether or not we could be moved to another lane. He agreed, and had a co-worker come by to troubleshoot our lane. We moved to the lane immediately next to us, while his co-worker played a full game on our former lane. I honestly didn’t mind having him play next to us, but my friends were a bit taken aback. It made things *much* louder, and we were in a rush trying to get our game done in the time we had left. We ran out just before finishing, and a friend went to flag down a server and ask if we could have a ten-minute extension, owing to the lane issues. That was granted. Again, it was a mixed bag. Lucky Strike isn’t cheap. For the price, we expected a better product and significantly better support. The minute we ran into issues, an «I’m sorry, we’ll move you to another lane immediately and extend your time by a few minutes» would have been nice. As is, no one seemed particularly fussed about our problems or whether or not we were enjoying ourselves. Pros: — The ambiance is nice. Lighting is pleasantly low, but with a lot of color around. — Our nachos and spinach dip were great, and we ended up ordering an encore. — Bowling is fun. Right before leaving, I bowled two strikes! Cons: — Limited beer selection. I wasn’t really feeling the IPA I ordered, but our server *constantly* asked whether I wanted another one. — If you run into an issue, you’ll have to flag down a server and then very clearly delineate exactly what you want. I can’t imagine how frustrated we’d have been if we’d come in on a busy day! I had decided that this was going to be a three-star review. Looking over what I’ve written, a two-star seems more appropriate. That said, I’m willing to give Lucky Strike the benefit of the doubt — we may have been in on an off day, gotten a new server, or gotten a bum lane.

I booked 2 lanes for a birthday party over the weekend. I heard good things about this place so we decided to have a birthday party here. It sounded like such a great idea having a adult bowling/bar in one place! The atmosphere was great… dim and very bar like. The reason I rated it 2 stars was because I am not very happy with their reservation rules. I wanted to book 2 lanes ahead of time since it was going to be a planned birthday event. Even though it was a little more expensive(+$ 10/lane) to reserve lanes rather than if you just showed up, I though it was fine just to avoid any potential wait we might have on a Friday night. The problem is that if you reserve lanes ahead of time, you are required to purchase a party platter per lane. Their platters range from $ 16-$ 30. Our plan was to go to dinner and then go straight to bowling after starting at 10pm. I knew we wouldn’t be hungry, so I was irritated that I was required to order 2 platters for us to bowl for an hour. When we arrived to our reservation, probably 7 of 10 lanes were open. We checked in and quickly started bowling. The service was great and quick. After we got our drinks, the platters came out soon after. We all tried the food even though we were full just so we could try it. The $ 17 spinach and artichoke dip was fine, but nothing to brag about. The $ 16 quesadillas were pretty bad. Not one person in the group liked them so we barely even touched it. Overall, the food we were required to purchase was pretty much a complete waste of food and $ 30+. It was just frustrating that I was required to purchase so much food when I knew ahead of time we weren’t going to need it. There were a few people in the lane next to us that I assume were just walk ins and they weren’t required to purchase anything. It would make more sense to me if they made you spend $XX amount on drinks or food if you made a reservation. Not just make you buy food. My other frustration was that they make you prepay for the shoe rentals. I had planned on possibly 12 people coming to the event. I said I wasn’t sure how many could actually make it. Since I booked 2 lanes, they required me to reserve 5 pairs of shoes per lane(so total of 10 shoes in my case). Only 9 people showed up, but I still had to pay for 10. It’s just a few dollars, but since I felt like I was overpaying for everything else this just topped it off. After this experience, I’d consider just walking in with a few people, but I’ll never reserve or recommend anyone to reserve lanes here again.

So upscale, so LA, so happy about the late hours yet, so noisy, so dark, so expensive.

On my birthday and on a whim, my husband and I stopped in here for a couple of rounds of bowling after dinner. We were slightly dressed up but not overly fancy and felt perfectly comfortable here throwing on some bowling shoes with our somewhat dressy clothes. And if you are like me and wearing heels, you can buy a pair of socks. Lucky Strike encourages sophistication with the low lights and strict dress code. Unfortunately for us, they do not encourage proper bowling etiquette. Whoever shares the lane next to you can totally make or break your night. Upon arrival the group next to us was also celebrating a birthday. And like us, they leisurely took in a few games and sipped beers and cocktails in between their turns. Once they left, a group of aging«frat bros» took over and crowded around the ball return, which infringed on our space and they threw the balls down the lane as fast as they could as if to see how many games they could get in before their hour was up(I’m assuming they paid by the hour, because they were playing as if they were rushed). Not giving us the proper space to play our game, we wrapped things up early and moved on to another bar, which is unfortunate, because I really liked what Lucky Strike had going on, but not enough to deal with the party next to us.

I think there are a number of things that they do very well at Lucky Strike Lanes, from the inviting and reasonably hip accoutrements to the decent(but not spectacular) soundtrack to the lane service. It’s a model borne on the idea that groups will congregate over a cool bowling outing, and this was my second Lucky Strike appearance, after my first in Denver a few years back. The good news? Pretty similar net-net in ambiance, actually. The more mixed news means that your experience mileage(so to speak) varies greatly on who occupies the lane next to you, and given the fact that the venue encourages both per game and per hour bowling(vastly different scenarios), you never know who just might line up opposite your approach, or, as was recently proved, who might just be part of a group on a junket to fling the ball as fast as they might with little to no concern as to the etiquette involved traditionally. Those kind of things make this place seem turn key, which I’m sure is the exact opposite of what they’re after, especially given the specific attire restrictions you note upon entry. You do lots right, Lucky Strike. But probably not an ideal move to assume that one blanket attire suggestions make sense in each metro without local vetting. And a small amount of oversight among the goofballs might make an aesthetically sharp room an even more desirable one.

A great spot for occasions. Drinks and food are over priced and average tasting. Bowling was $ 40 for I believe an hour or per game. Good music and vibe however for casual bowling go somewhere else.

Came here for a birthday party. I was impressed by the design, but disappointed by the service. We had a reservation for one lane for an hour. As a preliminary matter, I think that Lucky Strike is a little too proud of its bowling: $ 133(including tax and incidentals) for an hour? When you consider that everyone is drinking and ordering food, that seems a little steep. The moment our time was up, we were informed by an employee that the manager had asked us to leave. They were in a hurry to turn over the lane, which I appreciate, but they certainly could have handled it more professionally. After bowling, we hung out in the bar for a couple of hours. The music was great(Top 40, make-you-want-to dance tunes), and the drinks were good. If I come back, I’ll just come to hang out in the bar and skip the bowling.

We went on a Thursday night recently so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. There’s only about 12 lanes, so don’t go on a Friday or Saturday and expect to bowl. The bar area is huge, lots of tvs, and a really nice patio area. Our main complaint about the place was the price of the drinks. We ordered a makers on the rocks and they charged $ 8 for the shot of makers and $ 4 for it being on the rocks. So $ 12 for a shot. Yipes! We asked why and they said because when they put ice in the glass it causes them to pour a little more alcohol into the glass. So Lucky Strike Lanes has the most expensive ice in town.

I recently returned to Lucky Strike with Mrs. B and some other folks. I’m glad we went back. First, let me say that if you expect to bowl on a Friday or Saturday night, you better either get there early or plan to wait for a long time. Luckily, we just wanted to catch some of the NFL playoff games over a couple beers with friends. A couple drafts that may be considered craft beers will cost you about $ 10. I guess that is about right for this development, but I think you can find cheaper if you really look. Also, our group was fragmented, and people had arrived and left at various times, so we couldn’t really get reliable bar service from the waitress, so I did not mind walking to the bar to get my own beers. I do think their patio overlooking 7th Street is spectacular for an afternoon when the weather is nice. There is also a good amount of room for standing around the bar. Other than that, it is a great place to watch a game.

Lucky Strike is one of the better night life experiences in Fort worth. The indoor/outdoor patio is one of the best bars in town, and the bowling lanes are in outstanding shape. There is plenty of room for as many as 10 people to occupy one lane, as each lane has a lounge area behind it. I recently visited for my birthday and initially had some trouble getting a lane for our party of 15 people. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday, and put our name on the waiting list. The wait was very pleasant; there is a large bar and cocktail area with many large HDTVs. After waiting in line a few hours, we were finally told that we would only be able to rent a lane for just 30 minutes due to an incoming party’s prior reservation. Frustrated, I asked to speak to the manager. Travis Cormier, the assistant general manager, was very friendly and made sure our party got a lane for the next couple of hours. He also bought a round of drinks for our party. I was ready to write off the entire company for making us wait hours with almost nothing to show for it. Travis single-handedly saved Lucky Strike’s reputation, and many people in our party were pleasantly surprised at his commitment to getting us what we needed the entire night. The experience was great, and one I will certainly be repeating soon.
