Fincher’s White Front Western Store

I was in Fort Worth for work and as a spur of the moment moment decided to buy my first pair of cowboy boots!
After checking out all of the stores in the stockyards I decided Finchers had the best deals. The salesman (who I gathered was the owner) was very friendly. Told me everything to look for in a boot and checked to make sure they fit good. He was not pressuring and as he said, «I’m not here to pressure you, just make sure your boots fit.» He was also very funny with a dry wit.
I love the boots I picked out. I felt comfortable purchasing them from this store mainly because the salesman was very nice and welcoming.

If i could give negative stars, I would. The woman behind the counter was rude, even rolling her eyes when asked a question. If felt like any other over-​priced trinket and souvenir shop, just with rude employees. I certainly won’t go again, and I’ll be sure to advise my friends not to as well.

Great western store in the Stockyards. Great selection of everything. Grandpa wanted a new hat and found it here. Great customer service.

Know your prices before you go.
On one hand, Fincher’s has been in business for over a hundred years selling real cowboy gear and hats. On the other hand, there’s more tourists than actual cowboys in the store more days and if you are a silly tourist you may pay too much for those boots.
Fincher’s is one of the very best places, if not the best, to buy a cowboy hat in Fort Worth. They will custom steam and block it for you on the spot. There’s an art to blocking a hat and these guys are artists at hat blocking.
If you need boots, go to Shepler’s.

Its is easy (and fun!) to get swept up in the spirit of the stockyards. A main attraction for tourists, but also a fun place to walk around as a local. Wanting to dress the part, I’ve found Fincher’s to be one of the better western wear stores with prices that are not outrageous.
For my daughter’s 2^nd birthday we got her outfitted in a fabulous pink and white pearl snap shirt and pink cowgirl boots. A few months later I found myself in the market for some authentic cowgirl boots. After much shopping and jaw dropping at prices from other stores, I took myself back to Finchers to pick out my own pair. The staff was super helpful and taught me a thing or two about fit. The next thing I knew I was strolling around the stockyards in some to-​die-​for brown boots!

Whoa there, pardner. Just hold on. You may have been moseying your way along Exchange, perhaps in anticipation of the four minute cattle drive that happens on time every time most afternoons, or just maybe you’re ambling toward a giant steak dinner or some live music out. They do each of those things around here, but not at Fincher’s. Fincher’s has it’s own thing going down, and like some other parts of the Stockyards area, appearances, at first, may prove deceiving.
Worth noting that there’s a pretty thorough inventory at the ready, and should you find yourself with a hankering for a pearl snap shirt, some on genre gear, or an exceptional (but actually somewhat affordable) pair of boots, they can likely get you to the finish line. I entered thinking we might get the customary price bump associated with staples of the tourist trade, but this spot didn’t end up feeling that way to me at all. Plenty of mens, womens, and some fun surprises in the kids section as well.
So amble in. There’s a decent chance your treasure awaits.

Neat store in the Stockyards. Whether you are doing some serious buying of jeans, boots, a hat or new buckle, or just browsing for some cute souvenirs, chances are Fincher’s will have it. And even if they don’t you can still buy a cold beer for $ 2 (at the bar at the back of the store).
