Beautiful area with many walking trails for your favorite outdoor cardio activities. The area winds along the Trinity River and plays well to families looking for a nice place to relax, have a picnic and enjoy the weather(when the weather is enjoyable, of course). There’s a neat little miniature train that has two depots in Forest Park– the ride is $ 4 for adults and a bit less for the kids. The track winds through several bridges and underneath overpasses for a 45-minute ride. There’s one stop where you can stretch your legs, buy some popcorn or just stay put. It’s a great ride for the kids(and others of all ages really). We spent some time visiting the park in mid-April and the weather was beautiful. Low 70 degree weather with a slight breeze, and the sun poking out of some clouds. The grounds were preparing for MayFest sometime later in April. Overall, this is just a great place with picnic areas, rolling grass areas, endless treelines, and several playground areas. There’s ample parking but it can get a little ugly driving in or out of the area on certain times of the weekend, especially if there are events going on. You’re really close to the Fort Worth Zoo as well– one of the best zoos I’ve attended. Have fun!

Very nice park! Neighborhoods around it use it for neighborhood events, it is regularly used in birthday parties, holidays, or just hanging out. There is a nice mixture of forested paths(hard to find in Fort Worth), picnic areas, playgrounds, and fields to play in.

Heavily treed park with a running trail, varied terrain, a river and a train to ride, not to mention playgrounds and picnic tables. Large park, bring a picnic and a frisbee and figure the rest out when you get there.
