We came here for a birthday dinner, Hibachi, table of 7. Rami was our waitress. Some ordered soft drinks, tea and 2 beers during the course of the meal. Towards the end of our dinner, instead of asking how the bill was split, Rami, said, who is going to pay the bar tab? I said, i had a beer with my meal, i dont understand the question. She raised her voice and rudely said, all drinks are paid from a bar tab. I said that doesn’t make sense, our drinks should be paid with our meal and your tone of voice is insulting me. She gave me a look and apologized. Brighter side of the story, I complained to the female manager, she aplogized several times on 3 different occasions and took care of the beverage tab. I recommend Bennihana next time.

Very good sushi, and a fun hibachi. It’s crowded, in a funky location that’s dimly lit with tiny walkways. Waited at the bar for over an hour to finally get a hibachi table. Service wasn’t the best, since the waitstaff were really busy. It seems like the service suffers because of the small building. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 4 is the price. Over $ 180 for 2 beers, 2 drinks, 2 rolls, 2 sushi, and 2 entrees. Most expensive meal I’ve ever paid for in my life.

Good place and fun atmosphere. The service was very good. The food was great as with all of these type of places. No complaints. The kids always like the show and the fire. They do put on a good performance. But that’s why you come here. If we are in this side of town I would come back, but wouldn’t drive out of my way to eat here again.

Really nice Hibachi grille. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. My Salmon was cooked perfect and it was just $ 19 and wife ordered the seafood platter for $ 35 and she loved it. Beer was $ 4 – 5. Very reasonable and for sure will go back again.

My husband, son and I decided to try this restaurant after hearing positive reviews. To start, we were seated very promptly and got our drinks just as quick. Then we looked at the menu, it was the most expensive prices for hibachi I have ever witnessed. The average cost a plate was 25 – 30 dollars. The servers were aggressive when it came to drinks. Before my wine glass was half drank I was asked if I wanted another. I wasn’t in the mood to double fist so I continued to decline. Our chef came over and he was very friendly and put on a good show, my son really enjoyed it. The salad was a huge disappointment, instead of my favorite ginger dressing the salad is dressed with a sesame vinegar. Also the soup was good but had a very strong unpleasant odor. The veggies you get are a major disappointment; onion, zucchini, green peppers, and the portion is very tiny. The best part is you have to pay an extra $ 4 dollars for fried rice?! Apparently the 30 dollars you pay for chicken doesn’t cover fried rice that comes with every other restaurant I have ever been to. Then the bill comes, all the bill has on it is our drinks. We hand the waitress our money and try to explain there is no food on the bill. A couple minutes later we get a bill from another waitress with our food on it. Apparently you also have to pay separately for food and drink. I suggest you spend your hard earned money somewhere that doesn’t overcharge for such a small amount. I go to hibachi to have a fun night with my family and leave with an assortment of leftovers for lunch the next day. Instead, we left feeling somewhat harassed and very disappointed.

First visit, big disappointment. Having said that, first impression was fine as far lobby area. Could use some updating in décor. Staff was friendly. The disappoint was in regard to food. Everything was drenched in oil and butter, thus making food taste greasy. Also, we were asked how we wanted our cut of meat to be prepared and we indicated medium rare. All meat for everyone at our table turned out well done! My husband had one glass of red house wine, for which they charged $ 8. In our opinion, the price was definitely out of line with the quality of the food. Perhaps this place is good enough for first time experience. However, I have eaten at hibachi style restaurants in several major cities in other states and the quality of food and preparation was much better.

I can’t believe how cheap this place became:-/ USEDTO be great&fun back in the days… Now portions are smaller, ice cream dessert is NOT included as it use to be, they used to give you steamed rice even if you choose fried rice: no more, they push you out by bringing you the bill when you are in the middle of your meal… After coming on and off for 17 years, i say good bye … We used to go to Japanese Palace for each special occasions in our life, even selected this place for friends and family visiting from overseas! But the Japanese Palace has become a FASTFOOD, so now we have been going to the Japanese place on Bryan Irvin across Lowe’s and it’s MUCH better food & service: they never rush you out like Japanese«fast food» Palace does!!!

I went with a friend and had dinner here last night. She’s a regular, but it was my first time. The interior was nice and clean, although it had an outdated vibe to it. Looking at the menu, I was a little taken aback by the price but yolo ha! My dinner consisting of an adult beverage, a sushi roll, and hibachi dinner which included soup and salad came out to $ 54, not including tip. The good thing is it came with a LOT of food so I had plenty of leftovers. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and, of course, was so tender. Our chef was entertaining and very engaging. He was great with the kids who were sitting with us. My friend celebrated a belated dinner and they added a sparkler to her sorbet. Waitresses were attentive and friendly. It’s a place I would consider taking a group for a special occasion.

Fresh food and hibachi tables keep you entertained while you enjoy a meal. For over twenty years, this restaurant has been a family favorite with the Texas Twins Events/Pawning Planners Team

There goes 57 $. If you like hibachi stay away from this place. This is not Hanabi. The price was as expected. We ordered filet /chicken combo. Filet is the reason for the one star. It was best part of meal. The veggies were sad. Onion /zucchini and the portion was very small. The chicken was over cooked. We were offered a free appetizer from their website. Some sort of glazed chicken nugget. Pass on them. Sad place. Will not return. If you have never been to hibachi don’t make this your first.

A great place to celebrate your birthday with family. The dinner table show is fun, interactive and funny! The dinner no matter which one you order is huge, yummy and so filling! We had a blast as a family. Finished the dinner off with birthday cake and sparklers!

Great food and awesome atmosphere for night out celebrating a birthday! Totally entertaining as the chefs grill the food in front of you. They put on an entrancing show with billowing onion volcanoes and egg tossing tricks. They took a group picture and gifted the birthday girl with the photo at the end of the night, she was thrilled.

I LOVE this place, we used to go at least once a month before we moved. Now we only go like once or twice a year. VERY expensive but drinks are strong and priced fairly. I love to watch them cook, the chefs are very entertaining(although they use the same tired jokes every time!) One chef allows me to blow his whistle during the onion train. HEY-OOO! I am pretty sure this was some sort of gentleman’s club at some point, the bar has 1970’s BUSHY porn shellaced into it! Makes for a good time!

The wife and I absolutely love this place, and we eat here often. We have never had a bad meal here. Most of the servers recognize us, but we have been coming here for more than 30 years so that might help. If you like teppanyaki type food, you are not going to get any better than this in Fort Worth Texas. Service is typically above average and occasionally excellent. They can be a little slow on the sake refills. Charlie is our favorite teppanyaki chef and you can ask for him by name when you come in. He is the BEST! Japanese Palace also has a «Sushi Bar» that I am told is excellent. We have a saying west of Dallas…“In Dallas they call it sushi… In Fort Worth, we call it bait.“ Only one complaint… it’s really annoying that just recently, if someone has a birthday, one of the hostesses leads the birthday cake procession and is banging a gong. Really??? Must you??? For some reason they have stopped automatically serving the orange sherbet as a final«palette cleanser» course. Pity. It’s absolutely worth the money and your time. Consider it «Dinner and a show.»

We come here mostly on special occasions. It is pricey anywhere from $ 20 — $ 35 a plate and if you order from the bar it is a separate ticket and tip. I come several times a year and not every chef puts on the same show. It is a hit or miss. The food is great definitely worth it and lots of it. We ordered a bday cake for $ 5.95 so that was nice. Sushi can be ordered in the hibachi area as well although it comes out way ahead. We waited 20 minutes on a Tuesday so I can only imagine on the weekends how it may be.

Great sushi but this place is just to expensive. My son and I shared a sushi plate and shrimp hibachi and my daughter had the teriyaki chicken. We all had soft drink and the bill was over $ 100. The salad dressings was more Italian than the typical ginger dressing that other Japans restaurants serve. I also didn’t care for the dipping sauces. If you want great sushi then this place will work but if you want a great hibachi dinner I suggest going elsewhere

Let me start by saying I have lived in 4 states and have been to a wide variety of hibachi places. I absolutely love hibachi and Japanese food. I heard from many people in Fort Worth that this was«THEPLACE» to check out for hibachi. A couple friends and I ate here last night. The first off putting thing was the fact that we had a «bar waitress» and a regular table waitress. Yes — this meant we had 2 separate checks and had to pay 2 people and tips at the end of the night. Maybe not a big deal to some. I think it’s ridiculous and stupid. Then the hibachi. I have NEVER been to a hibachi place where they charge you $ 4 extra to have«fried rice» AKA hibachi rice — versus steamed rice. I didn’t know this when I ordered so when I was served a bowl of steamed rice and never given the chance to get the normal fried rice, I was not happy. The fried hibachi rice is my favorite part of the meal! I’ve been to tons of these places and this is the first one that didn’t come with fried rice as the norm. I got the steak and chicken combo. The chef never asked how I wanted my beef cooked. Again, that’s a first! It was very chewy, over cooked and tough(I like mine medium rare. It was well done). Beef is my favorite protein and it was my least favorite part of the meal. Everything had a «burnt» taste to it. And the chef barely spoke the whole time. Overall I would easily say this was my least favorite hibachi experience I have EVER had. I would never go back here.

Having returned from a 4-year stint living in Japan about six months ago, my family was really craving some good Japanese food and the Japanese Palace didn’t fail to deliver. The food was delicious and very comparable to what we enjoyed so many times in Japan. The service was prompt and the portions generous. My only complaints are the price(a little over $ 100 including a 20% gratuity for a family of four, and we did not consume any alcohol which is roughly twice what we paid for a comparable meal in Japan), and the fact that you had to pay for drinks separately from dinner — very bizarre. All that aside, give it a shot for a great night out!

So to start, this review will probably only really matter to people with allergies… We just got done eating here tonight, Saturday. We got there at 7p and had to wait an hour to get sat, however it is Saturday night and they sit on a first come first served basis so it is what it is. Once sat they were pretty quick about getting our drink order. Then when the waitress came by asking about our entrees we notified her that my wife is allergic to shellfish. She seemed to not really understand so we repeated it a few times and explained that it was an allergy to seafood. After a minute she seemed to understand. After waiting at the table for about 25 minutes the raw food and the chef came out. Well both plates of raw food had seafood on them. The shrimp were mixed with the veggies and the lobster was sitting together with the steaks. Now if you have allergies you understand you can’t do this. My wife and I have hibachi quite often. We’ve been to Ed Ohana, Benniehana, and another place a few times each. Each time when my wife tells the waitress she has an allergy they say ok and when they bring the food out with the seafood it’s on it’s own plate. Here everything was mixed so we told the chef that my wife was allergic to shellfish. He said he was sorry and that no one told him. Ok, honest mistake however he didn’t seem to understand that the mixed raw foods he had on the plates needed to be replaced so the seafood and juices weren’t mixing. After a bit of time and breaking it down for him he finally got the message and went to the back to get some different food. This is where it starts to get really odd. He comes back out with my wife’s entire meal on it’s own plate(veggies, meat, rice, everything). On other plates he had the rest of the food. Ok, at this point we’re just thinking he is going to cook my wife’s on one side of the cook-top and everyone elses on the other. This is not how places normally do it but whatever. Nope… the cook starts to cook my wife’s food only just like you would normally do with everyone’s. My wife was so embarrassed. Our table was packed full of about 10 or 11 people all hungry and waiting for their food and everyone has to watch the cook prepare my wife’s food first. He first starts with the rice, then the veggies, then the chicken, then the steak, and on and on. 25 minutes passes and he’s finally done with my wife’s food and only her food. WOW… she was so embarrassed, I’m really surprised she didn’t cry. Also while this is all happening we have staff hovering from a distance just standing watching the entire event in amusement. As the cook was cooking my wife’s food the«Host» or at least the person that sat us came to the table and told us that we would have avoided this entire event had we told her in the beginning that she had an allergy and she would have sat us at our own table. WHAT!!! First off why do I need to tell the host, or maybe she was the manager, the person that sat us that my wife has an allergy. She did not take our order or even get our drinks. Second, my wife does not have Ebola, we do not need to be quarantined to our own table! Just in case you’re curious the way places normally do it is we tell the waitress that we have an allergy and she relays it to the cook. The cook brings out the mixed raw food with the seafood on a different plate. The cook then cooks everyone’s food together like normal saving the seafood for last. The seafood cooks fast so this makes total since. This has happened this way at every other place we have gone to. So after my wife gets her food… roughly 50 minutes after we all originally sat at the table, the cook starts the show and preparing everyone elses food from the rice to the veggies, to the meats. So by the time everyone elses food is done my wife is done eating. She is still completely embarrassed and still we have staff hovering over us watching. To end the evening the girl that has been refilling our drinks brings out the checks. Everyone’s check is small and only has drinks on it. I was shocked, we didn’t go to the bar when we were waiting to get sat so it wasn’t a bar tab. At this point I’m thinking the restaurant has been incredibly generous and comped everyone’s food for the problem. WOW, that would have been something but no that was not the case. We all give the woman our cards and pay that small bill. She brings back receipts with a spot to tip and sign. OK. Then another woman brings out another bill, the food bill. What in the heck??? Keep in mind this is everyone at the table, not just us. OK, so the restaurant was not generous and did not comp anything. Why in the world do we have two separate bills, one for drinks and one for food, it makes no since. So my debit card got swiped twice with both people getting tips. In the end, the food was good but slow. My wife could never be more embarrassed than she was that night. We won’t be back.
