I cam across this place the day I turned 21 doing a pub crawl for celebration. From the things I remember I knew I really liked this bar. I have come back to this place many times, as visiting this place became more of a tradition. the past 6 years have been celebrating Thanks giving here to escape from family for a bit. The staff is well trained and very friendly. The indoor atmosphere is very friendly and cheery(though cheery can depend on the people around.) The Jukebox is usually playing some good music. The drink prices are great for being in downtown Fort Worth. It is a smoking facility inside so if you are bothered by smoke this is not a place for you. The men’s bathroom is always clean, I don’t know about the women’s one. I’ve lived in Ireland before and this place gives me the feel of the old country road side bars that are common over there. Divey and friendly.

I’ve got a list of places that I would hang at a whole heck of a lot more if only I weren’t an allergic mess and could tolerate a room full of cigarette smoke for any length of time at all, and this place is somewhere near the top. In case there’s any question, I do mean that as a compliment. I used to hang out at this spot a whole lot many moons ago when Yon Black Dog Tavern was located here, and not gonna lie, I still see the drab walls and couch that nobody wants to sit on and poetry slammers and open mics back in the corner every time I go in. But somehow, there’s also still that really cool vibe, and bar family thing going on, and people who just want to chat, and it’s always happy to be there independent of my old person-colored glasses. Smoky, though. A-choo!

Nice spot to shoot pool and play Ms. Pacman. I enjoyed the drinks I got. I didn’t know they allowed indoor smoking though and left smelling like an ashtray. One trip to this dive bar was enough for me.

If they still had the shuffle board table ide give them a 5. Nothing was as good as going to paddy reds and getting a couple car bombs and shooting shuffle. The place has changed a little but its still the shitty irish bar we all know and love. Nothing more than a guiness and a jameson for me when i come here, car bombs at the ready and youll have an awesome night here.

When I first told my best friend that I was going to this bar, right away she went«I loveeeeee this place!», and started describing its quirk of being underground, how easy it would be to miss it if you don’t pay attention to the sign, so on and so on, I was already intrigued at that point. It took me a while to find free parking at 10pm on a Saturday night, it’s go figures being in downtown on the weekend after all. I did get super lucky and found a spot right next to the building. Just like my best friend said, I almost walked pass it cuz I didn’t notice the somewhat conservative sign that they have right outside. Unlike most bars, with this one you have to follow a stair case to go downstairs into the bar. It’s a small, cute, little dive bar with a decent crowd ranging from mid 20s to late 30s. They have live music on Friday and Saturday. People would get up and start dancing to the music in front of the performers, it did get pretty interesting to watch. All the bartenders there were super friendly, but the person I was with knows all of them, so we did get the special treatment: D. Overall, a pretty nice dive bar to go have a few drinks with your friends and catch up. I’d definitely come back here again if I ever found myself in fort worth.

One summer, when I had a bit of a party phase going on, I would stumble into Paddy Reds mainly so I can throw sharp objects at a cork board. It gets smokey, but I’m used to it being in Fort Worth bars. As far as dive bars go, I think I’m the most comfortable at Paddy Reds. The staff is really nice, it’s well lit, the juke box has a variety of music, they have games to play and there is always someone to meet. It’s an underground bar with a bit of a patio area. Walk-in and your ID is checked by the super friendly door guy. If I go on a consistent basis, I always see the same faces at the bar or groups stumbling in for a night out in Fort Worth. The selection of beer is nice; nothing crazy but you’ll find something for your palette. Sutter Home wine for you wineos and a decent liquor selection. Only complaint is parking but it’s downtown. That’s expected.

A spacious basement pub with a mellow feel? Who wouldn’t love it? I loved the bartender’s bad ass beard and the him and his fellow Irishman handled the full bar. My vodka soda was spot on and kept me feeling great. Music selection was standard jukebox. I liked that Paddy Reds isn’t in the middle of downtown. Seemingly only the ones that know will go. Great place, great atmosphere, will go back again.

Oh Paddy Reds, you did me real good. Sure, you’re a bit of a dive but there was no shortage of fun that Friday night inside of your hallowed walls. Yes, you may have made your drinks too delicious leading to a painful Saturday, but dammit, it was worth every sip of that Irish Car Bomb and several Texas beers. My only complaint, which honestly isn’t my own, but from a disgruntled friend who drinks wine at places like these, is the wine selection is limited, hot, and not served in a wine glass. If I could make a suggestion — eliminate the wine altogether. I love it just as much as the next wino, but your basement bar Irish pub is not the place to imbibe such refreshments.

New ownership and there’s complaints on here? waaahhh. I went for St Paddys Day and it was the same door guy and almost all the same bartenders. Same feel. Clean. Smoking. Good music. Pool table. Darts. Huge bar. Restroom is clean. What’s not to like? I remember when this was the Black Dog. This place isn’t going anywhere. Owners change. Don’t knock it.

I went into Paddys on Tuesday. It was locked up. Went in after work last night. The greasy-haired boy behind the bar didn’t even look up when I came in. NOT impressed with the«new look» of Paddy Reds. My favorite bar is going down fast! ‚( If Ryan Crosley, Jack Burnett, Zach Peterson, Spencer Melton or Taylor(geeze I don’t know his last name!!) are there I will be there in an instant and stay all night. Ask anyone, it’s what I do. But this new crew, this new attitude. I don’t think so!

Came at the request of another. Had never been so was curious. What’s not to love about a basement bar? Of course, since it’s a bar, it’s filled with smoke… But, as a respite, there is a small outdoor area where you can take your drink and get a breath of fresh air. I liked it as a bar and perhaps being slightly off the beaten path(i.e. a few blocks from Sundance Square) means it has a definite local feel to it. I seem to recall a pool table and darts, but I did spend most my time outside, as did the others I was with.

For a city that doesn’t particularly play so much above ground vs. below ground, I’m kind of getting a kick out of the fact that Funkytown has a number of subterranean offerings at the ready: case in point, my stop at Paddy Reds. I can kind of guess based on a number of inadvertent happenings that perhaps this spot may, well, see a little of a less discerning crowd in the busy hours. I can’t corroborate that for sure, and I’m totally open to my mind being changed, but that was the impression I got from being here and keeping my ear to the ground. And I was rewarded in beer, which, frankly, goes a long way to my little hops soaked heart. There’s a juke at the ready, but know that it’s one of those mafioso numbers that double-charges you to hear anything familiar: that said, great tunes are available when you find em. In the end, super friendly and only too happy to make all that happen.

We stopped by Paddy Red’s early one Friday night(around 8:30 — 9:00) and had a good time. The four of us made up about half of the patrons for the first while and we got to tie on a nice sampling of bartender recommendations. I can’t recall his name, but his suggestions were spot on. There was a feel in the place of a good«American» Irish bar. You don’t feel like you’ve just stepped into Dublin, but at the same time you definitely don’t feel like you’ve stepped into a college bar with an Irish name. The place had a good jukebox, a couple of decent dart boards and shuffleboard. As the night went on and the place filled up, it didn’t catch a douchy vibe, which was nice. We’ll be back.

One of my weekday happy hour spots. Great beer selection, inventive bartenders and friendly atmosphere. Always see a friend when I go in, and it is in such a convenient location. The TUNES are unmatched — fancy jukebox. *EDIT* When the bartenders are awesome, it makes or breaks the experience! Jack was really intelligent and funny. Ryan is dry, so so hilariously dry, and he introduced me to my new Drink of Choice! For a long time I’ve been into the White Russian — classic and deadly. But Mr. Ryan said«oh no, you’ve got to try thiiiiissss…» and whipped up a BLUEBERRY White Russian. Best mixed drink I have ever tasted. Love ‘em, go there.

I like this bar for several reasons: its off the beaten path, great array of beers(one of the few places that has Fosters Oil Cans), and or course dart boards, golf game, internet jukebox, and best of all, Shuffleboard… Not many of those around town. The staff is always very down to earth, the crowd is ultra relaxed, and its a little off the beaten path, so there is less chance of running into obnoxious tourists.

First real gripe about Fort Worth being the lack of convenience stores downtown. I asked around since we didn’t have a car where would the closest beer and gas station you could find? A marathon runner could get there and back in about 20. I didn’t find that option very appealing. First night the wife didn’t feel that well. I was directed to go have a few drinks and come back. I strolled downstairs leaving the hotel headed for the streets passing a few pricey bars including Del Frisco. I ended up at Paddy Reds. I’ve haven’t been to an Irish pub since that Elite event @ Fado. The bartender was friendly as was the clientele. Met a guy named Boston, had a few beers and headed back to check on my wife. The next morning the wife seemed to have kicked her ailing tummy, headed out on the town with a flea market being the first stop. I can count on one hand where folks were friendly and when it just sucked. Paddy Reds received me with open arms; for its hospitality earns it four star rating.

Just happened to run into PRIP with a couple of friends. The place for the Super Bowl weekend was full of visitors. Everyone was loud and excited about the big game. The bartenders were very nice, staying on point with every yelling request. Didn’t try any food but maybe, just maybe on the next visit to this little Irish Pub. :()

Our second and, as it turns out, final bar of the evening was Paddy Red’s. Not very easy to find as it is downstairs but there is a big sign out on the street. If the weather is nice you can choose to sit on the nice patio in front but it was freezing the night we were there so we marched right in. I was a little surprised to see that it was pretty packed with only a couple of tables and one bar stool available. The one available bar stool turned out to be occupied though… by a big black dog! It was quite entertaining when the dog lost his balance and knocked himself and the barstool over in the floor. We sat and drank at a table until 2 bar stools opened up and then we moved to the bar. Our bartender was cool and he even took a pic for us. And his drinks were made the way I like them — strong. Darts and pool are available if you want and the music was good. Oh and smoke em if you got em… if you don’t got em, you can get em there! Paddy Red’s was a solid pub that I would totally frequent if I lived in Ft Worth. A-OK!
