This is the best place for breakfast on a Saturday morning with the grand kids. Never been disappointed once.

I have been eating at Paris Coffee Shop my entire life and will never get tired of it! Mike and his crew are top notch and I never miss Chicken and Dumplings on Thursdays. If you are from Fort Worth and don’t love Paris Coffee Shop then you are not FROM Ft. Worth!

Horrible service, food is all from cans and/or frozen and the service matched. No stars here at all.

This is a tradition for us. We live in New Jersey, but the family is from all around the panhandle. This place brings me back to eating at my aunt & uncle’s as a child at their house. Stick to the chicken fried steak with lots of fresh cornbread & the pie afterwards can’t be beat. Super friendly… Yum!!!

I was early to an appointment and wondered in for a cup of coffee to wait. Boy am I glad I did. Fabulous local joint. The staff was super friendly, calling customers by name. I sat at the counter in front of the pie case. Big mistake! Good thing it was early in the morning or I would have had a piece. Can’t wait to visit again to sample the sweets.

As a Fort Worth institution among with other attributes Paris Coffee Shop is definitely 5 stars. Now, with this said keep in mind that no establishment is perfect, unless you want it to be. I just enjoy history and character, and this place definitely represents Old Fort Worth… so when in town try it. Depending on the day this place can get pack; it is advisable to get here before 9:30 am on Saturdays. Besides that I think it’s fairly easy to have breakfast any day of week, of course except Sunday-closed. The service here is quick and fast. I mean as soon as I ordered two eggs with sausage, coffee and water-it was already on my table. My server was«on the ball,» mentally sharp as for me I was still waking up. I asked for water she says, «do you not want any more coffee?» I replied, «I mean more coffee and water.» So, the service was excellent. I enjoy breakfast in general: the eggs were scrambled, the sausage was juicy, and the waffle was sweet… no complaints here. Last, I know the price is a little high, but understand the area and service which comes with it.

A FW tradition. Nothing fancy about this place. Just good old fashioned breakfast at a cheap price.

I went in today(10/30/2015) and expected to order biscuits and gravy because apparently they serve a great breakfast, little did I know«It’s no longer breakfast so I can’t order biscuits and gravy…» Although I overheard a patron order her meal with a side of GRAVY, so I was very confused about that, considering they give you the option to order biscuits… I decided to order a grilled cheese and fries because I am vegetarian. I get a plate with one grilled sandwich and scraps of fries with a side salad. I can’t wrap my head around the fact of my meal being 10.99. Waitresses were okay, no complaints about them. Unfortunately I don’t I’ll ever go back to that place. Bai.

The service would be the reason I would return. I think 4 different people talked to or checked on us during our visit. The biscuits were fine, my corned beef hash was different — it was only the corned beef, no other fillers that I could see and had the texture of dog food but tasty — and my well done hash browns were ½ and ½ — half crusty overdone and half soft. My friend declared the cheese grits amazing, and ate all of her cheese omelet. Lots of other things on the menu to try, so not ruling it out; will return if in downtown FTW again around breakfast.

Best breakfast place on the planet. This place blows Olé’ South out of the water. Try the biscuits and gravy, corn beef hash and cheese grits. Breakfast ends at 11am with lunch served until close. Lunch is great too. Fantastic chicken fried steak. Daily specials always hit the spot. Don’t forget to add a slice of their made from scratch pies or cobblers.

3 stars for Paris Coffee Shop? Or 4? Well, I’ll go with 4 since it’s a Fort Worth institution and I don’t want to get rocks thrown at me ;). It’s been around since 1926. They serve up good ol home cooking. The kids had pancakes and bacon. I liked theirs. I didn’t really like the corned beef and eggs. I told my husband that the biscuits and gravy were supposed to be the best around, so he got that. Growing up in the south, I know B&G(haha, Reno’s post). The gravy had no flavor, with no hint of sausage or bacon in it. Service was good and our waitress didn’t let our coffee get even half way empty. I’d be back for the pancakes, coffee, and to try pie!

Paris Coffee Shop is an institution in Fort Worth. They have been doing what they are doing, largely unchanged, since 1926 or so. The side of the long building has a fantastic mural. The inside is old, speaks almost of the classic dinner look from day way past. Little red stools lining down the side of the long bar on one side, a few booths in the middle, and lots of small simple tables rather crammed as best they can in the remainder of the place. Be sure to take your time and look around at the pictures. Their walls tell stories of days gone past for Fort Worth. There are also occasional pics of interesting characters who came to eat there. Their strength food wise is as follows: pies. It is that simple folks. They make a mean chocolate meringue pie that is as fine as my moms. I tell you what, my mom make the single best chocolate meringue pie ever and Paris Coffee Shop is right next to hers. At Christmas time, they sell hundreds and hundreds of pies. Most years, I see a news cast, almost a tradition, to go to Paris to see all the stacks and racks of pies they are rushing to make to keep up with the insane number of orders. Now, what about the rest of their food? I haven’t found much else besides the coffee and pie that I like. Their food is rather blah if you ask me. They serve them in small trays and dishes that are very old, like I remember from 3rd grade back in the early 70’s. Some of their food comes across as Sysco type food. Not saying it is, as they seem like the kind of place that would be making things homemade. But the basic sandwiches, chicken dumpling soup, it all leaves a bit to be desired unfortunately. The man who runs the place is frequently near the front door being cantankerous, mostly in a good way. He is a personality for sure. A bit crusty and quick with an opinion, almost like someone from Jersey or NYC. I shared my opinion back once and he wasn’t too thrilled with it made some defensive comment(nothing bad), and shuffled off like he was now upset. Oh well. He’s part of the fabric of all this interesting pieces that make up Paris Coffee Shop. Recommended for coffee and pie, watch out for anything else. Can’t beat the history.

Wow! Loved this place. Located in the hospital area of south ft worth, I’m sure they get lots of business from hospital visitors. We got there about 12:45 and I swear I was the youngest customer in the place. Really popular with the older crowd. Several lunch specials every day. I got the ribs and glen got the chicken and dumplings. Both were really good and plenty of food. So much, we had to skip dessert. If you want some home cooking, I recommend this place.

I went back with a friend of mine. He had the corned beef hash, eggs, and hashbrowns. He seemed to like everything he had. He said the corned beef hash seemed to be homemade, was ground instead of chunky, and was a little crispy, just the way he likes it. I had pancakes and sausage. The pancakes were good, but not the thick, fluffy type I was hoping for. The sausage was good, but a little more spice to offset /go with the pancake syrup would’ve been welcome. I followed that up a breakfast taco. Sausage, egg, cheese, and potato. It was MUCH bigger than I was expecting. VERY filling and it had a good flavor, especially with the salsa that came out with it.

My breakfast–«French» Toast with Bacon was much better than the eggs I had last time. Price $ 6.25. Community Coffee stays filled and hot. Price $ 2.15. Made with thick sliced bread. Great way to keep it from being soggy. Is there a name for French Toast served on Texas Toast? If not, I need to invent a clever name. Tony Parker Toast?

Paris Coffee Shop is definitely a better breakfast choice than lunch. I’d give it 4 stars for breakfast and 2 for lunch. I got the marinated chicken plate, which came with some very good mashed potatoes and some very bland canned cut green beans that were cooked mushy. The chicken was overcooked, good flavor but very dried out. My date had a club sandwich. It had plain white bread, plain ham, iceberg, tomatoes, good bacon and some dried out beef. Meh. The chocolate pie however was very very good. And the service here is really great. Friendly, fast and accurate. Never harassing but very attentive. Again, I recommend you eat here for breakfast.

I drove up the two lane road and turned in to the parking lot. I was surprised by how full the lot was. No way all these cars are coming to the Paris Coffee Shop for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Parked and walked in. I got the small town diner vibe right away… except this small town diner was big. Real big. Michael Jackson. Since I was with my lonesome, the woman guided me towards the counter, where the loners sit. Wolf pack of one. And this wolf wants bacon. Bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, toast, coffee. Black. An older gentleman sat immediately next to me. He wanted a to-go order. Half an order of french toast, bacon, two eggs, cheese grits(small or regular or whatever you have), coffee. Decaf. I wanted to make conversation, but I’m new to town… I held my bacon between my left index finger and thumb. Squeezed. Fat oozed out. Yum. — «Where would we be without Paris Coffee Shop.» «I’m sorry?» — «Where would we be without Paris Coffee shop?» «Oh, yea, this is my first time, but this place is great.» He talked to me. He really talked to me. We discussed the history of the restaurant for a little, then he told me about another restaurant that was also a staple of the area that had shut down. I told him about how I was new to town and just starting to try things out. He told me I made a good choice, grabbed his food, and left. I like this place. Simple, delicious, friendly.

Check the website for their hours of operation. I think this is a great spot for breakfast so long as you’re dining alone or with one person because you may walk in and sit down in the counter seats. The wait for a table or booth exceeds thirty minutes. I had bacon, eggs, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, and coffee. Everything was delicious. I really liked the gravy because it was seasoned well, and the hash browns were unique – more of a hybrid between diced potatoes and shredded. The counter-top waitress kept everyone’s coffee refilled – she probably topped me off four times which was AMAZING because every blessed sip was hot and fresh. I loved sitting at the counter. Plus, I didn’t have to wait.
