Schakolad Chocolate Factory

Not great and not terrible. The service however was pretty bad. The employees just stare at you and shrug their shoulders as if you should already know the answers to the questions you’re asking. Sees is a much better option for me as far as taste but if I’m ever in the area and craving chocolate I’m not opposed to stopping in again.

Well, hooray! This was a nice find — I didn’t expect to find Schakolad Chocolate Factory in North Texas, and this happens to be the only one in the region. This Florida-​based chain that is first set up by a Jewish Argentine chocolatier, Baruch Schaked, isn’t really the best chocolate shop over there in Florida and it may not even be the best here, for all that I know, but they may have been seen as pioneers in that state. And yes, upon coming into the store, you’ll find that strong smell of sweet chocolate (which might be a little too much maybe).
But when I saw this place here, I had my hope somewhat high for a reason — hot chocolate. You see, South Florida chocolate shops DO make hot chocolates, and it’s perfect for a cold winter day. But every chocolate shop I searched in Dallas do not make them in store, even the locally popular Dude, Sweet Chocolate, much to my surprise. Thankfully Schakolad is here to right that wrong.
Thank you Schakolad. I would only suggest you to add tables and chairs by the sidewalk (no space indoors), but thankfully Sundance Square provides seating and is just right by there.

I went here for Valentine’s Day just to see what all they offered because I had discovered chocolate paint the year before that lol. Anyway, I went in and asked about different things I should get my significant other for Valentine’s Day and she pointed me to something so amazing and heavenly chocolate covered red velvet cake balls!
Let’s just say he loved it and I will be back.
I really liked the fact that she knew all of the products in the store and explained them to me she was really nice. This store has something for everyone (that likes chocolate) lol

It’s tasty, but we mostly go here for the experience of letting my son see chocolates being made/​picking his own. For what I’m spending you’d think the staff could be a little friendlier but I almost felt as if I was annoyance stopping them from doing other things.

Like any specialty chocolate shop I have been into, this place drives me nuts! I walk in and have to hold a napkin under my chin to contain all of the salivation. Always a beautiful display of chocolate of every intensity, graduation of color, and variation of flavor.
Also like every other specialty chocolate shop I have ever been into, it is expensive. I suppose the finer things in life do not come cheap. I surmise this keeps it from being a common quick cheap place to go to. That makes it more special in some ways.
One of the things I enjoy about this particular chocolate shop is the chocolates are not overly super rich sweet, at least not the ones I selected. I like that. I tend toward darker deep complex chocolates. Well, if you look at my wife, you might think I like super sweet white chocolates. Ha ha!

This is a great little chocolate shop right on Sundance Square. We ducked in here on a warm Saturday afternoon after lunch, looking for a sweet treat. They have a great selection of different chocolates and chocolate covered sweets, all on display in their glass counter.
We decided to split a piece of dark chocolate almond bark. One square of almond bark (a little smaller than my palm) was a little over $ 3, which seemed a bit pricey, but the chocolate was good quality and we enjoyed it quite a bit. Service was polite if not overly friendly, and we appreciated that they accepted our credit card for the $ 3 tab, since we didn’t have any cash on us.
Ultimately, it’s a cute little shop with some good options for a yummy dessert.

The chocolate is good but it’s not worth the price. The staff was friendly and helpful but I mean it’s chocolate u got like 3 options milk dark or nuts. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to help u figure that out. It’s located in downtown Fort Worth sun dance square to be exact so they automatically gonna charge u out the ass for their product. It’s good but not worth the 7 bucks I spent save your money n buy a Hershey bar.

Tasty little chocolate shop. More like 3.5 stars. I’m always quite happy with my selections (you can walk away with a variety box of 18 or so truffles for about $ 20 – they do it by weight though, so bear that in mind) and the cost is pretty fair. I admit I am used to a few of the chocolate shops in Dallas, however, which are far superior in quality (Chocolate Secrets, Kate Weiser) although are also far more expensive.
The key lime and red velvet are pleasant surprises, most everything else is tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. Service has always been really hit or miss for me. Often pleasant but somewhat begrudging as well.

The way to win my heart is with a little salted caramel! If you want a sweet delight and you are a chocolate lover like myself come here. Their selection of truffles is ridiculous! Order a bunch of things or just 1 if you are trying to be good but still a little naughty if you know what I’m sayin’!? They also have some delicious peanut butter fudge! It’s fairly cheap if you are just getting a few things but I can imagine the price racks up quickly. They also have the chocolates in gift form if you are purchasing for a loved one! I’ll definitely have to come back. Just walk it off after… there’s lots more to do around here!

So good! My husband brings me home treats from here often. They come in a beautiful box even. I won’t eat any other chocolate!

This came up on my Unilocal as a place I should go try! So naturally, I went here with my GF to try some chocolate.
They have many different types of chocolate and fudge to order. What really caught my eye was the chocolate covered bannana. So I ordered one of these, and it was heavenly. The chocolate was very smooth and creamy at the same time. I decided to get milk chocolate and nuts on mine.
My GF ordered the chocolate covered cheesecake and it was delectible also! I would come here again to try some more of the different chocolates!

We stopped by here after lunch today since we had some extra time before we had to head back to work. I really wanted some chocolate! Since it was lunchtime, there wasn’t anyone else in there other than us. They had a huge selection of chocolates to choose from — I didn’t know what to pick! I let the lady at the counter know that I’m lactose intolerant and she was so helpful in showing me all of the non-​dairy items they had available… most of the dark chocolate treats. Dark chocolate can be hit or miss and their dark chocolate was a hit! The dark chocolate pistachio cluster melted in your mouth just like you were eating milk chocolate — and the slight saltiness of the pistachios enhanced the sweetness. But my favorite treat of the day would have to be the triple dark chocolate cake truffle — it wasn’t overly sweet and the cake in the middle was so moist! It is kind of pricey — I paid $ 2.50 for two small pieces of chocolate but a nice treat every once in a while won’t break the bank. I’ll definitely come back later for some more!

As soon as you walk in, the smell of rich creamy chocolate hits you. I was craving hot chocolate so she whipped one up for me from scratch… freshly melted chocolate and rich warm milk. It was the best hot cocoa I’ve ever had, hands down.

Not everything here is great but I am a fan of the milk chocolate apricots. The raspberry truffles are pretty decent and the mint truffles are also good. I wouldn’t make a special trip here but i would stop in if I happened to be in the neighborhood.

Yay for a chocolate shop mere blocks from my hotel. It seemed very corporate oriented mostly… branded boxes of candy that sort of thing. But it did have case goods, no chocolate covered orange peel, but I was able to buy the last couple of dark chocolate covered orange slices and prices were a bit high.
There also seemed to be Texas themed gifts to bring home. Unfortunately I was mostly looking for chocolate to get me through the conference.
The staff was polite and store was clean despite the insane construction outside.

Waited at the counter before anyone noticed I was there. The three ladies working obviously were really into their work, but at a place that doesn’t seem to get much traffic since there is currently construction right in front of their shop, it might behoove them to pay more attention. Once I was finally greeted, I ordered 3 truffles. I wasn’t offered a bag or anything so I just wrapped them into the napkin they gave me and stuffed them into my purse. While walking out I tried the toffee crunch. The chocolate was extremely hard and the toffee tasted old. I don’t even remember what kind the other two were, since they were also of sub par quality. If the chocolate were better I was going to purchase the groupon and gotten more, but looks like I will be passing on that offer.

This place seems pretty good. It’s a little pricey, but overall a nice little stop if you want a chocolate covered oreo or nutter butter. I believe it’s $ 16/​lbs so it isn’t cheap, but isn’t terrible.

I would have been tempted to give 4 stars here but to be honest the service wasn’t very friendly. Since we had just enjoyed some beer across the street at Flying Saucer (my kind of place), we wanted to pick up some chocolates to smuggle into the U2 concert here (my wife’s kind of place). It would have been nice if someone had paid more attention to us, told us anything at all about the store or food, but we did fine on our own. There were only two ladies there, either packing some boxes or unpacking some boxes, not sure which and that had their undivided attention.
When someone finally took a break and came over to help us, we picked a few items like the peanut butter cups, dark as they were out of milk, and some chocolate covered pretzels in several types. Needless to say, this bag of candy didn’t make it all the want to the concert as intended as we ate it all in the car and hotel on the way there. Good stuff, just room for improvement in customer service.
