Cute little gem! The owner is super helpful and attentive. They had a different selection of sushi here, and apparently their menu changes frequently, so there are always new things to try! We ordered the –Calamari: panko crusted I found that I prefer the batter fried calamari over panko crusted, but it wasn’t bad. It came with both a sweet sauce and a savory one. –Forbidden salmon: black rice, salmon, avocado Don’t be intimidated by the black rice. It was my first time too, but it was just like a normal salmon roll with avocado. –White dragon: shrimp tempura, avocado, asparagus, escolar It’s your usual shrimp tempura roll but topped with a nice piece of escolar. –Spicy ricetta: spicy tuna and escolar, seared nori rice Never had seared nori rice on my sushi, but this was my favorite roll of the night! It was different. The rice was crispy, and the fish tasted fresh! –Tempura ice cream: vanilla and brownie This was the highlight of the night! I’ve never had fried ice cream like this! It was a tempura covered brownie ball filled with vanilla ice cream! It’s brilliant! They even split it in the back for us. Apparently they change the cake/brownie flavors from time to time, so ask your server which one they’re currently serving! We were too full to try the other delicious desserts but the guests at the other tables seemed to really enjoy their french macrons(with actual fruit) and mochi ice cream! These flavors change all the time too! So many items I still want to try! I’ll definitely be back(:

Best restaurant on Magnolia. Tons of creative, delicious(and accidentally healthy) vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Our whole family(two adults & two preschoolers) loves it. Succinct but well done wine list — and fun, beautifully presented desserts that delight the minions while we enjoy our last glass of wine in semi-peace. Also, we feel special because the owners have remembered our orders ever since our first visit… I want to believe it’s because our family is so remarkable(noisy) and entertaining(messy) but I think it’s just because the owners care about their customers… which honestly is shocking given the temperament of most of the restaurants on this street. Also, it doesn’t compare to Shinjuku at all… this place has true creative culinary talent… oh and doesn’t smell weird, which is always a plus!

Went here Wednesday night with a friend. The restaurant isn’t large but the atmosphere is nice and intimate. I had the lemon snapper roll, which had a surprisingly delicious crunch! My friend ordered the ramen which didn’t have the broth she was expecting but it turned out that wasn’t the negative we thought it would be. When we paid I ended up getting charged twice, but the food was good enough to overlook that… I’ll bring cash next time!

My first review is down below and that was years ago. We went again today and it was amazing! Every time we come they have new things to try and it’s always perfect! The owners are kind and friendly, the place is immaculately clean! My kids love to eat here and so do we! The best! Nice décor, super friendly staff! California roll was a touch salty for me, but to be fair I am pregnant and wonky about smells and food. Shrimp spring roll was very nice. Tempura was fabulous and cheap, We ate 3 orders of it between 2 adults and a toddler. My husband had the tuna and eel, he liked it very much. Seems cheap but we ended up ordering so much that it was not so cheap, but we ate it all. Very yummy, great that it’s near us in biking/walking distance.

I do not know why it took me so long to try this place out, and that’s sad to say because I HAVE been missing out! This place is a gem on Magnolia. The sushi roll combinations are fantastic! Plating was decadent and the service top notch. And then the bill came … And it left $ in my wallet for coffee afterwards! I have about 10 more visits ahead of me to get it all in!

Oh how I love this sweet little restaurant! Erin and Alex are the sweetest couple and the most attentive owners I have ever met! The menu always has something new to try and the sushi is authentic and soooo good. The place is always clean and welcoming even in a dinner rush. I’m not exaggerating when I say I could probably eat here everyday.

Go eat here! You won’t regret it! One of the best sushi restaurants in Fort Worth! Delicious, fresh-tasting sushi, excellent service and a clean, modern Asian ambiance. My husband and I especially loved the kushiage calamari for an appetizer. We’ll definitely be dining again here soon!

Absolutely a neighborhood gem, incredible vibe and food. The kushiage is amazing and the«rice-cetti» roll is hands down the best roll I’ve ever had in a Japanese restaurant. Honestly can say I can’t wait to come back.

Very impressive both in quality of the food and impeccable service. Everything we’ve tried so far has been super good. The atmosphere has a relaxed vibe which we truly enjoy. It’s so nice to be able to conversation without having talk over a loud restaurant.

Tamaki is by far my favorite sushi place in crazy Fort Worth. The fish tank and cayenne rolls are my favorite, but everything I’ve had has been very tasty. Great drink/beer prices as well. I never understand why Tamaki isn’t more crowded(not that I’m complaining.)

Went here for the valentines 7 course meal and we we very very happy with the meal that we received. The starter salad was spicy but fresh and had a nice blend of flavours. The second course was tuna sashimi with plums and this was my favourite course of the meal. The third course was the seared scallops. This was then followed by some assorted sashimi and rolls of beef and other rolls of king crab. By the time the last course of tempura ice cream arrived I was so full but of course with everything else being so good I indulged and kept eating! I’m from Vancouver where fabulous Japanese food is plentiful, so I was so very happy to see the restaurant decorated with Japanese ambience to compliment the delicious food. Thank you Temaki, we will be back next time we are in ft worth! I’ve attached some pics taken with my iPhone if some of the food.

Hello, this place is awesome. Came here for lunch today with my sister-in-law and we were both very pleased. The interior is cute, it reminds me a lot of a frozen yogurt shop. Modern furniture complimented by a pastel palette, like friendly minimalism. The whole restaurant(including the bathroom) was exceptionally clean, and I really enjoyed the music. Now, FOOD! The food was great. We each got miso soup(a little blander than some miso soups I’ve had, but still a classic), and tried three rolls: Fish Tank, Philly, and Crispy Melt. The Philly was as it always is everywhere, the Fish Tank was so fresh(the pieces were large, but soft enough to eat in two bites), and the Crispy Melt(tempura) was my fave. Everything we had was so soft and fresh, no yucky pieces. Definitely will re-visit, especially since it is so close to my house!

This was our first time to eat here and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing and quiet and I loved the music selection playing in the background. The sushi was excellent! Very fresh fish! Try the lemon wasabi tuna, excellent but different. We tried three different roles and all were great! We will be back!

In loooooove with this place! So many creative items! I’m a sushi fanatic and there is nothing on the menu I dislike. The cute and friendly atmosphere makes it even better. I’ve only been here a few times, but expect to see me more often! I love the orange zest salmon sashimi, as well as the red snapper w/Asian pears. This restaurant needs more people to know about it!

Excellent lunch. The waiter(felt like he might have been the owner) made us feel warm and welcome. I was surprised how hot the spicy stuff was(this is a good thing) and how good the basics were(miso soup and side salad). Very fresh, clean, and the sushi was a high quality. We had just visited the Samurai Collection over at the Kimbell, so sushi seemed appropriate. My only reservation was the art on the walls, which felt dated and. well, it’s just not my favorite. An upgrade on the art might be in order. but hey, whatever. Overall, would definitely come back on our next trip to the Museum

Jonesing for a good japanese lunch, I decided to venture away from 7th street to try Temaki on Magnolia. After sitting down in the(empty) restaurant, I ordered a sashimi bento box, and chose the veggie dumplings, tempura vegetables as sides. While waiting, I munched on some thoughtfully provided prawn crackers. Once the box arrived, I was somewhat disappointed at the size of the sashimi. I understand keeping things spare, but my goodness, it was the same size as a slice of fish on a nigiri(hand roll)! And only three pieces. Quite a shame, considering the Bento is $ 12. The vegetable dumplings were decent, but had an overwhelming flavor of water chestnut. The tempura vegetables were standard… didn’t really jump out in any particular way. The requisite california roll was ok. Considering the price, and comparing to the other japanese restaurants in the area, and the size of sashimi provided at those other locations, I doubt I would return to Temaki. Perhaps lunch is not their strong suit?
