We had a Groupon to this place a while back, as we love to try new spots. It was horrid. I cannot imagine why they are still in business. The food was dry and tasteless, and some of the vegetables were inedible. It was so awful that we actually were laughing about it. I’m sure they are good people, and we wish them well, but they need help. If it had been just okay, we would probably give them another shot based on some of the better reviews here. But it was bad, and we do not plan to ever go back unless we hear about a major improvement in their food quality.

I was expecting a half pound Catfish fillet. I received bite size chunks added together I don’t think its half lb. Catfish is OK I had better. Service is slow. Price is ridiculous for the amount if food you get. Definitely wont recommend it to anyone… :-(

We went there for breakfast and after we sat down and looked around it wasn’t hard to see that this place is Filthy. The carpet was littered with things from the night before or forty so. My eggs were good and my hash browns were OK. My wife’s toast had a hint of fish flavor added to it which doesn’t go great with jelly. I tasted a hint of fish on mine also. Must be from the Catfish special the night before. They get you with the prices because if you want hash browns with your eggs it is a side order extra.

We love Texas Grill! The service is always great, the atmosphere is authentic and the food is wonderful. I always get the queso chicken and Windy gets the chicken fried steak. Highly recommended when you’re looking for Texas home cooking on the west side.

This is a great grill place — reasonable prices and absolutely scrumptious food! Found it while visiting Fort Worth last week and went back twice. The burgers, chicken kebobs and sweet potato fries were fabulous — as were the pies — our trio tried their trio — YUM! :) It’s counter service with great people — an involved owner and employees who genuinely seem to care if you are satisfied and if you return. We were acknowledged and welcomed back immediately on our second visit — a couple days after the first visit.

Like grilled food? Then you’ll likely enjoy the food at the Texas Grill.(I mean, it’s in the name) When I’m in the area, I try to visit this place when I feel like having some good old fashioned slightly charcoaled backyard home style food(That was a mouthful). Since I wanted their best, I asked the friendly cashier what dinners were popular(I had a coupon for the dinners only). He said that people love the Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Kebobs and he recommended the Catfish Fillets. Since I dislike CFS, I chose the Catfish, and my girlfriend got the Kebobs. The Catfish was fried well with a nice cornmeal coating, and the sides tasted nice and fresh.(I really liked the mustard-ish tarter sauce). As far as grilled meat goes, these people have it right. The Chicken Kebobs are grilled to the point of almost… being cooked too dry. But wonderfully, it’s still moist enough to be enjoyable(and I’m picky about dried out food). I don’t know if the associates /owners knew that I was reviewing the restaurant or not(I was taking photos of my food) but they were all genuinely nice and attentive to us. Oh, and as far as a musical place to go, this might be an option for you. According to the owners, The Fort Worth Songwriters’ Association meet here every Monday from 7PM to 10PM and they say the place is usually packed during those times. Also, they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 6PM to 9PM. The music is not tied down to one type, Elvis could visit or it could be Country music. I would call ahead since they told me that there was not going to be any music this week so…(subject to change). I enjoy this place and I’ll continue to come by for my long winded cravings when I’m in the area again.

Local grill in the corner of a strip center off of Camp Bowie(accompanying Google map is way off). Look for the Taco Cabana; this place is just behind it. Typical local grill fare: CFS, various burgers, hot sandwiches. hot plates, sides, pies. Had the cheeseburger, good but nothing special. Hand-formed patties, equivalent to what you’d make in a backyard cookout. But the selling point here are the sweet potato fries, hand-cut and crispy outside, fluffy inside. I’d go back just for these. Counter service only, lots of space inside. Room for sidewalk seating when the weather permits.
