What a cute little place! I love their courtyard patio and colorful décor. The pimento cheese and chicken salad are awesome! It’s a great spot for lunch with your girlfriends or a quick, satisfying lunch during the work week.

Location is kind of hard to find. The front door is in the middle of the larger building, accessed from outside. There is a sign that points to the direction of the restuarant, but you’ll need to know that you won’t actually see the restaurant until you walk by the shoe store window. Or at least I think it’s a shoe store, not sure the name either. The restaurant is smokey from poor ventilation. It was weird getting used to breathing that kind of air, once seated. You’ll notice this as soon as you walk in. The restaurant itself, is not aesthetically pleasing. It seems they did not put much work into it. The flooring looks like they decided to enclose a patio and the result was the restaurant. Ek harsh.(Sorry.) First off, I used to like this place. Notice the USEDTO part. I had never been to the location, only had it through catering at work actually… until my last two visits. They changed their recipe for their chicken salad sandwich it seems and I no longer like it. They have a great poppy seed dressing though. The last time I went to this place, THEREWAS A HAIRINMYBREAKFAST! Bleh! This translates to me never coming here again. Other than that, a positive thing about this place is that their portions are huge. Still not enough to make me give this place another try.

Yum, yet another win with the Lunch Box. I ordered a mix-n-match Lunch Box, which includes a sandwich(I chose ½ Pimento, ½ Egg Salad), fruit cup, cookie, and a bag of chips… quite a meal for $ 10. The sandwiches are always overstuffed with the options you chose, so you finish off your meal feeling incredibly full. The fruit cup is a great highlight, as the poppyseed dressing that’s included makes the fruit really pop. I’m planning to come here again with a larger group of people, especially since the setting has a cozy, welcoming feel.

Had my first chicken salad sandwich from here today. There is a good reason I have read it is the«best chicken salad in Fort Worth», because it is! Not fancy with nuts and fruit, just really delicious and flavorful! Waitstaff at the counter was friendly and helpful and I was in and out for a to-go in less than 5! Décor is so cute! Hidden gem in an alley between old Camp Bowie Jakes and Stanley Eisenmann shoes. Look for the cheery green and yellow entrance!

I had the lunchbox egg salad sandwich and the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. The atmosphere was great and that of a ladies lunch.

I don’t get why people like this place. I just had their quiche and it tasted like it was cooked in the microwave. The sandwich my husband ordered was mediocre at best. Will not be returning! Yuck.

Went here cause of all the good reviews. I don’t think I’ll be back. New to Fort Worth and I’m all about local(yummy) food joints. Got the boxed lunch to go, as I was in my lunch break. Was ready really fast and came in a cute box with a ribbon wrapped around it. When I got back to my office, I found out why it came so fast. Was a pre wrapped sandwich, bag of lays and some fruit. Sandwich looked like something I could’ve made at home. Got the chicken salad(again cause of all the awesome reviews)…was pretty disappointed. You could’ve made two or three sandwiches with all the chicken salad they put. But it just wasn’t very good. To me, it didn’t really taste like chicken salad. Needless to say, overall it was just ok. Definitely notworth $ 10. :(

I can honestly say that I have never had better service anywhere. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, it will not disappoint.

The Lunch Box is a goofy little restaurant, tucked back in a corner off of Camp Bowie. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an elementary school classroom, bright colors but institutional at the same time. The chicken salad sandwich is above average, pepper forward on the flavor. A simple, quality lunch that really did remind me of the lunches my mom used to pack for me. Service was great, I felt well attended to throughout the meal and staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall: The Lunch Box will not disappoint as long as you are not expecting anything fancy. Just a good, basic sandwich.

Atmosphere: small and cheap. Clean and tidy, just nothing impressive. Drink: they took away mimosas :/just normal drink menus, no alcohol. Food: yum! This is why they get four stars. I love the sandwiches, I’ve been eating them for about a year! The best sandwiches in Fort Worth without a doubt. Possibly the best chicken salad sandwich ever made! *try it on the marble bread, which I can’t remember the name. Lol Price: pretty inexpensive. I pay about 7 – 10 for lunch, and about the same for breakfast. Service: the waitresses have been working here a while and they are great at what they do.

The food was great here!!! Delicious sandwiches and great atmosphere. The only reason I wouldn’t rate it 5 starts is because of the service! Our waitress wasn’t very attentive and was very forgetful. She forgot our waters several times and we had to sit there thirsty. My daughter ordered a salad with ranch and she brought a different salad dressing. Other than the service the food was great and we will be back! Hopefully we can get a different waitress and have a great experience!

The Lunch Box is like a top secret restaurant off of Camp Bowie. It’s pretty much hidden down a small alley next to Jakes. That’s how I feel anyway walking to the Lunchbox. My husband and I used to eat here all the time for lunch! The inside is cute and the staff is really friendly. All I ever had from here is the chicken salad sandwich. The best chicken salad sandwich you will ever eat. My only complaint is that I don’t eat here often enough!

My wife and I stopped in on Sunday to see what all of the hype was about. The Lunch Box is nestled down a small alleyway on Camp Bowie, next to Jakes. You’ll know you’ve found the place when you’re greeted with a random green door. It’s actually quite«cute» to be honest. We were seated promptly by our waitress who took our drink orders almost immediately. My wife had a water and I decided on their unsweet tea. Instead I received a peach mango tea, I would have asked for the order to be corrected had it not tasted so good. I ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich with avocado, onions, tomatoes and american cheese, while my wife order the Stuffed Avocado with Chicken Salad. Our food was out pretty quick and we were stunned by how«fresh» everything was. The food was both tasty and filling. We both decided that it would likely become a spot we’d return to often. The service was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu. My order was actually exactly what our waitress recommended. My wife’s order was one of the many gluten-free options they have, so we loved that. They do free mimosas on Sunday, so my wife and I might take advantage of that next time. I’d certainly suggest this place for anyone whose looking for a cheap, healthy and fresh meal.

This newly refurnished classic salad and sandwich shop has some of the best lunch food in Texas. The ham and avocado and chicken salad sandwiches are my favorites. I suggest getting the namesake«lunchbox» which let’s you mix two different halves with fruit, chips and cookie for under $ 9. Yum.

Delicious!!! This place has been a Ridglea institution for many years. The ambience and food menu is similar to an old school tea room but there’s nothing antique about the food quality and the great flavor. If it is your first time, you might want to split the Combination Salad with someone so you can save room for one of their amazing pies. The Combination Salad comes with a generous portion of both chicken and tuna salad with mixed fruit down the middle all served on a bed of shredded lettuce. Don’t forget the homemade poppyseed dressing. It is so good I think it could make cardboard taste yummy. Also, if you want to make sure you receive great service, ask for Erma. She’s a sweetie! They are now open on Sunday for brunch and serve Mimosas.

A solid 4 ½ stars. What a great time to enjoy fine company, a nice Mimosa, and delicious food. Tried the majority of the sandwich offering’s and here are my reviews. 1. Reuben. 5 stars. Perfect balance of ingredients on a nice warm Marble Rye. My favorite. 2. Pimiento Cheese. 5 stars. Homemade and delicious. I want this recipe… 3. Club. 4 stars. Solid and satisfying. 4. Ham and Avocado. 4 stars. Fresh avocado was the stand out. Part of the Holy Trinity. Bacon, Cheese, and Avocado. 5. Tuna Salad. 3 stars. Fresh but for me was just OK. 6. Chicken Salad. 2 ½ stars. I love Chicken Salad and by far my favorite sandwich ingredient. For me, it tasted like chicken and mayo, with no added crunch(apples, grapes, or walnuts) that I like in a solid Chicken Salad. The Salad, solid 5 stars, and with the added Poppy Seed Dressing, this may be my favorite salad combo of all time. Potato salad. Solid 4 stars. Very homemade and very, very good. Thanks Lunch Box for a great meal and allowing us Unilocalers to enjoy your great restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Today was an awesome brunch. Kendall, as usual, and The Lunch Box out did themselves. The sandwiches were soooo good! The salad, homemade dressings and fresh fruit were right on! The only thing we had to wash all of this greatness down with was bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, screwdrivers, water, soda, and tea. mmmm… mmm… ahhhh… I enjoyed visiting with Ted and Denise, along with all of the other Unilocalers that were there. As if this experience couldn’t get any better, I won a bottle of Deep Eddies grapefruit vodka. Thanks again to Kendall and the entire staff at the lunch box for a great time. We will definitely be back soon!

It feels so homey here at The Lunch Box. It’s bright, cool, and cheery inside; painted with greens and yellows and staffed with smiling, friendly, non-hovering staff. Original Spanish tiles(still holding strong for over 40 years) cover the floors, complete with an adorable pair of puppy footprints in the back corner. I know it’s a bit hard to find the entrance, but just follow the green and yellow signs! I had the honor of talking with the new owner, Imran, who told me a bit about The Lunch Box’s history and future. He and his family haven’t removed anything from this locally-loved restaurant’s menu: they’re still serving the classics; chicken, tuna, pimento, and egg salad, simple sandwiches, soups, fruit salad, and homemade ice-box pies. They’ve added just a few things, like vegetarian, gluten-free(GF bread), and dairy-free options! Plus, they’re open 7 days a week now instead of 6. Try the stuffed avocado for $ 9.25! A scoop of your choice(tuna, chicken, pimento, and egg) on top of a whole avocado. I couldn’t make a decision, so I had a tiny scoop of each salad. Now I know the chicken salad is famous around these parts, and it was dang good, but I loved the egg salad the most. It was just so simple, clean, and perfect. The pimento may take second place… I know it’s a weird shade of orange, but this cheese is delicious! The tuna and chicken salad were equally grand; moist, seasoned beautifully, and dotted with the tiniest diced veggies. My avocado was fantastic and it sat on a bed of lettuce, decorated with baby carrots, olives, strawberries, and a pickle! I loved having a little bit of everything :) This isn’t the cheapest menu around town, especially for soup and sandwiches, but you won’t spend over $ 10-$ 12(most sandwiches with chips and a pickle are $ 7.25). The soup of the day and quiche are constantly rotating, so check their website(which is so fantastically up-to-date)! The Lunch Box is definitely a Fort Worth destination café. People drive in from surrounding cities just to eat here! If you come in on the weekend, you’ll probably see a fair mix of brand new patrons who live outside Fort Worth and local old-timers who have been dining here since the 70s. The Lunch Box isn’t a rowdy spot, but it’s not a dainty tea-house either. Why not give it a shot and become part of this local restaurant’s awesome history?
