Pretty good food. Pork chop and brisket taco were really good. Always packed, so very tight fit on seating. Waitresses all dress sexy. Ex. Bra only, schoolgirl, etc. Stupid app wants a longer review, don’t really know what else to say so now I’m just writing whatever comes to mind in order to make this review long enough.

Fantastic BBQ. Ribs and turkey were very tasty. Neat atmosphere of a down home BBQ restaurant. Waitresses dress like Hooters. Classy. Not distasteful. About like Bone Daddy’s.

The wait staff is probably what keeps people coming back(see pictures), because the food isn’t fantastic. A buddy and I had the hot link sandwich which was pretty good. Cole slaw was super watered-down, as in, soaked my plate when I put it on there. Barbecue sauce tasted like Kraft or some store bought-sauce as far as I can remember. Another friend had the brisket tacos, which were too small. Jalapeño poppers, although good, were just your run-of-the-mill fake cheese frozen appetizers tossed in the fryer. The building is all beat to hell with patchwork repairs along the entire ceiling and there isn’t a sink in the men’s room, which I’m sure is against health code or something. A patron there suggested we try the jalapeño ranch next time we come in, but we probably won’t get the chance.

Good BBQ, friendly service and cold beer. Couldn’t ask for anything more. The sides aren’t my favorites, but I love the ribs and brisket. Great for a dinner with friends.

Sadly I was disappointed with this place. For a group of three we ordered sausage, turkey, ribs, chopped beef with sides of coleslaw, potato salad, beans. The ribs and sausage were average and literally everything else was below average. We spent $ 40 without tip and I would definitely recommend somewhere else for that price. Coleslaw and the beans were watery and lacked flavor! The potato salad was very blah as well. I recommend Popeyes sides over this place! The waitresses were nice but did not make the food taste any better. They wear small bikini tops with short shorts. They do keep it cold in here as well. Overall, I will not be back and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

So underwhelmed by the bbq from The Smoke Pit. Brisket — no smoke ring, no smoky taste to really talk about, the fat was not rendered in the pound of beef i received. whats worse is that the brisket was bland throughout, not much taste in the bark whatsoever. Sausage — i’m sorry, but I am one of those people who thinks a legitimate bbq place will make their own sausage. i’m 100% sure that the sausage links used here are just packs purchased from a wholesale company, likely eckrich brand. hot links — pretty sure these are just those earl campbell hot links. while there is no wrong way to cook a hot link(in my opinion), i just couldn’t get over the fact that these did not take on any flavor from a smoker or grill… it was as if they just came out of a steamer basket. chopped brisket — definitely on the dry side potato salad — plain jane beans — extremely bland and watery the only positive i took away from the place is the very friendly service by the woman who took my order. she even went out of her way to provide me with a pack of ice to keep my potato salad cold for the short trip back to dallas.

This was my first visit to the Smoke Pit and probably my last. The waiters was very nice and attentive, that’s the upside of my visit. I had the Wednesday special the Double Meet hamburger, it’s only $ 2.00 and honesty that’s is not a bad price. The burger is two thin patties that actually equal one normal patty. Honestly the burger was decent. I also ordered ¼ lb of ribs, this is where my visit goes south very quickly. The ribs were tough, greasy, and we’re very chewy, like they were yesterdays left overs and microwaved. I tried to put some of the BBQ sauce from the table on them and boy was that a mistake. The sauce was almost like I picked up a bottle of liquid smoke and started drinking it. Well if you looking for a cheep burger on a Wednesday then this is your place, but if you looking for good ribs, well you might want to rethink coming to the Smoke Pit

Went for the first time last week for lunch on a Friday. By far the best lunch special day to go too. On Friday they have a massive 2 ½″ pork chop for $ 14.99, it comes with a side of beans and french fries. When I said massive above I wasn’t kidding, this thing was so big that I was able to easily make three meals out of it. Damn! It was tender and juicy, seasoned perfectly and oh so delicious! If you go on a Friday don’t even bother looking at the menu, don’t even bother getting anything else, and don’t even bother wasting time, becuase once they are sold out that is it. They have daily lunch specials that run the gambit. Another good one is on Wednesday’s they have a $ 2 double cheese burger.

Note: This is a dive BBQ joint with scantily clad women as your servers. If you want pristine conditions go somewhere else. We stopped in one day for lunch after reviewing on Unilocal.I have to admit I thought I might be only woman in the joint(besides the staff) and I was close. I think there were three of us ;) So, lunch hour, lots and lots of men. I like men so I’m good. We sat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. Ordered the combo platter, brisket & ribs. Ribs were great, fall of the bone and flavorful. The brisket was tough and dry that day, so I passed the brisket to my boyfriend and I ate the ribs. Potato salad was good flavor but mainly mashed potatoes(few pieces). Beans were good as well but could have used a bit more pork/meat/spice flavoring. Love the ice cold draft beer.

Being from California, my group of 4 stuck out like a sore thumb. But service was awesome & very welcoming. The food was tasted very authentic, especially the home made bbq sauce.

Was going to try this place out a few Friday’s ago, but got there a little too late and didn’t want to wait in the line. Friday is the pork chop special I found out and it’s very popular. We arrive at 11:08 and there was a line out the door. First, as I’ve written in many of my BBQ place reviews, I’m a BBQ snob. I’ve traveled all over TX to some of the best places so I like to think I know what I’m talking about in this category. Today, my dad and I showed up 5 minutes before 10:30 to make sure we would get in without waiting too long and also missing the pork chop because they sell out. Pork Chop: At first I was a little pissed the thing was $ 14.95…then it came out. This thing(including bone) has to weigh at least 3 lbs. It’s massive. It was moist in the middle and cooked perfectly. The smoke flavor was perfect… hickory is my guess. The dry rub was great too. Good pepper flavor. Fries: Perfectly cooked hand-cut fries. Crispy. Great. Beans: These were good, not great. Would have been great with some ham/bacon in them and maybe some jalapeño. Good though. Girls: There is some nice eye candy to look at in this place. Not sure if it’s like that every day but thoroughly enjoyed the scantily clad waitresses.

I’m not sure about the other reviewers here on Unilocal… there’s a lot of photos of their food. Dudes, the food is fine, but you’re coming here for the scenery, which by the way is OUTSTANDING! Laid back, friendly and bikini-topped, the ladies of the Smoke Pit are the main attraction, period, end of story. They love chatting you up, and are the perfect mix of cool and aloof combined with friendly and charming. Good peeps here, and the food is solid as well. Go there, get yourself a pulled pork and fries plate and a coke or a beer, and your day will get a hell of a lot better.

Words cannot express how much I loved this place. I cannot recommend a BBQ joint any more that I can of this wonderful smoke house. The place will hook you when you hit the door. I am not going to write much because there is too much to write. Food: Excellent– Order the beef and get the potato salad Service: Excellent– Waitresses are beautiful in and out Ambiance: Excellent– Everything that you would want, take a tour before you eat. I will be back if ever I am back in Fort Worth. Need to know more, the pictures are worth a thousand words.

Good BBQ. The service was very good and as advertised the view was pleasant. I had the ribs and brisket basket, so it came with fries. Good beer selection and the BBQ menu is simple but complete. We were in and out in about 30 minutes even though the place was completely full during the lunch rush.

Friday lunch pork chop special — amazing. Ribs — awesome Wings — best I have ever had(weird for a bbq joint, but trust me). I dream about the wings. Cold beer. Nice waitresses, but don’t take the kids on bikini/bra top day unless you want them to get an up close lesson on boobs. Hole in the wall supreme. Location not in the best part of town. Owners are awesome.

Do you like Texas BBQ? Do you like hole in the wall dive bars? Do you like dive bars that serve amazing food? Do you like attractive waitresses? If you answered three out of four with a «yes»! Then The Smoke Pit is right for you! Heck who am I kidding if you just love BBQ this is the right place to chow down Texas BBQ goodness. The outside is totally close to dilapidation but don’t let it fool you. Once you walk in you will see that it’s a BBQ restaurant that happens to be a dive bar. The waitresses are very friendly and quick to take your drink or meal order while wearing cowboy boots and shorts. I highly recommend going for the special of the day. So far I have had a ribs basket, two inch thick pork chop, brisket, pulled pork taco, onion rings, and french fries. My favorites are the AMAZING two inch pork chops. OMG! It’s spectacular. My next fav are the ribs. Sweet Christmas they give you plenty and each chomp of rib meat is good from the first bite to the last. The BBQ sauce is vinegary-sweet tasting which is ok if you are into that but the meat r you can eat as is with out the sauce. The onion rings are huge and crunchy, the fries remind me of fair fries and they always give you plenty. Lastly the beer is cold and hits the spot. All in all the Smoke Pit is a BBQ joint dive bar with lots of locals, cheap drinks and attractive waitresses and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t wait ti go back!
