I didn’t give five stars because I only had a Burrito but it was very good. Nice thick fluffy tortilla and the fajita steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would come back.

I use to like the previous owners, the food still taste the sme bt the new wAiters suck! They brought our plates out 1 by 1; 5−10min apart! It felt as if we all ate alone instead of as a family, and they charge burrito prices for TACOS! Thats not right! $ 5 for a simple taco, NOTHANKYOU!

I’ve been here twice in the last two weeks. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa. Their’s is great! There was this little mom and pop Mexican place back home I used to eat at all the time as a kid and their salsa/food reminds me of it. Food comes out hot. I mean those plates will burn you if you touch them kind of hot. 1st time I came here, I got the taco plate. Rice and beans are some of the best I’ve ever had. Today I got the chimichanga. It was huge. Topped with queso that was surprisingly good! Most impressive of all, there’s a server who works there who actually remembered me from last week. He wasn’t even my server then! This is a great place. It isn’t all dressed up and ready to go out to a black tie event kind of food establishment but hey, sometimes this down home kind of cooking is exactly what I’m looking for.

I had heard about this little«hole in the wall» from Bud Kennedy and have always wanted to try it. I was driving my wife down to Austin for a company conference and we need to stop for lunch on the way down. I told her I had a surprise for her and she was very skeptical when I pulled into the Regency Inn on the access road of Interstate 35. She asked, «Where are you taking me?» I told her, wait, this is supposed to be REAL good, the restaurant comes highly recommended. We were greeted warmly, told to sit wherever we wanted, took our seats, handed menus and had our drink order taken. Shortly homemade salsa and a hot basket of crisp chips were delivered. One of my wife’s benchmarks of a good TexMex restaurant is the salsa. She dipped and then SMILED! I knew I had partially won the battle with her skepticism. Oh my, what an incredible salsa! My wife order the lunch taco special and I ordered the chicken enchilada special. Our entrees were soon delivered. Our next benchmark of a good Tex Mex restaurant are the refried beans, and how they’re seasoned, and the rice. Just to note, I spent 6 years working in a noted Mexican restaurant in Dallas, so I know the inner workings of TexMex food and entrees. When we’re out I rarely EVER finish my rice and beans. Normally they’re just not that outstanding. At Tino’s this was not the case. The refried bean were incredible and seasoned perfectly. The rice was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Let’s move on to my chicken enchilada. After just one bite, I knew Tino’s had gotten it «right». The chicken inside was so flavorful and perfectly prepared. One of my main complaints about chicken enchiladas is the meat. Unless you’re careful, you can dry out the white me and it doesn’t have much flavor to start with. At Tino’s they’re using dark meat in their enchiladas which has all the flavor. They melted in my mouth. I almost wanted to order another plate. My wife’s beef taco was also wonderful. Again, she is very critical about the flavoring in her taco meat. Tino’s filling met with her approval! We walked out of the restaurant with very happy tummies! She looked over at me and said, «OK, you’ve got me hooked on another new place we’ll have to come back to real soon!» Tino’s may be a little hard to get to if you’re heading south on I35, but it’s worth the effort. Get off on the Seminary Drive exit, head north on the access road and the restaurant is located off the lobby of the Regency Inn. You won’t be sorry!
