Just to trendy for me, they should have never got rid of the poor house. Not my favorite place to go but they do have a decent beer selection so i cant complain to much. West 7th is just to overwhelming at times so you really gotta be in a good mood to go out there but if you want to go listen to music and drink beers, this place will do if you dont want to be at a club environment. A bar is a bar is a bar this one took the turn of chain style feel to me. No uniqueness and they seem to just be riding the popularity trend till its dead and they move on to something else.

It’s a nice spot to go to catch a game or a beer. They have some things they can improve on, but overall, the experience is good and I go about once a month. The bar is typically full, but it’s not hard to get a table. You have the option of sitting inside or outside and they allow dogs on their patio. They have a good selection of beers and I love the cheeseburger sliders! They have a nice selection of games, pool, shuffleboard, and darts. Would love to see them get a trivia system with all the TVs they have in place. I’d love to see them improve their serving staff and speed. This is my biggest complaint with this place. I typically wait a long time for my drinks, to be asked if I need another drink, and to get served unless I’m sitting at the bar. They are also not very accommodating. I went in for a football game on a Thursday night and requested for them to turn the sound on. They said they wouldn’t be turning the sound on and instead they played music. Ummm… you are a sports bar. They do have a brunch menu for Saturday and Sunday mornings with mimosa specials which is a nice switch up. They could improve their drink specials, they have them, but they’re very limited or they don’t really feel like a deal.

Service is the worst part about this place our cocky waiter had very little information about landing my guest on the right beer. He basically mocked them as he stroked his beard with their inquiries. It also took 20 minutes before he tried to take a drink order. Although my «waiter» paused his stride 3 times to tell me he would be right with me. I’ve been in the weeds before but this guy just did not care about me or my 4 other guest. Being a long time patron I ignored most of this and since I’ve waited I tipped him over 20% but he was so worthless it made me grit my teeth. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the selection of beers on tap but their customer service is so sad that they will now be my last resort on 7th street.

I’d rate this place 6 stars if I could. If you like interesting beer(or good ol’ fashioned millers) and good conversation this place is awesome. Bartenders are great, food is great. I stop in at any whim of an excuse when I’m in FW.

I’m 51, don’t go to bars much if ever. Happily married. 21 year old daughter tonight really wanted to go out and do something, all her friends were not available on a Friday night. She works hard and wanted to have some safe sane fun. We weren’t sure of specific plans, so we drove downtown, around Sundance Square, through the Stockyards, and wound up at West 7th area. She hasn’t been here before, so we decide to park and walk. We randomly chose the Trinity River Tap House. We got there about 10:40pm on a Friday, they were moderately busy, but not too bad. Big place, darts to one side, TV’s everywhere, pool tables, shuffle board, and the ambience was sufficient. The kitchen closed at 11, so we first tackled the food deprivation issue we were suffering. We decided to share one appetizer and two main courses. We ordered the Queso Fundido with chorizo as our appetizer. It came with chips, salsa, and miniature tortillas. We ordered the Grilled Cheese with bacon and the Acapulco Chicken wrap, both of these came with fries. See pics I uploaded of all. The presentation on all were fun and appealing. The Queso fundido unfortunately was overcooked and the cheese had turned to stone underneath. Despite the colorful presentation, it really had little flavor. Cheese was bland and the chorizo had no spice at all. The chips were a bit stale in my estimation and the salsa, well it was more of a tomato based item, almost a sauce that had been slightly dressed. The tortillas were decently fresh and warm. Putting the cheese in the tortillas wasn’t bad, just bland. The chips and salsa we didn’t eat, only sampled. The grilled cheese sandwich was a great idea, but somehow it just didn’t come through. The flavor of the cheese, much like the appetizer, was so … um non-flavorful, that it was disappointing. I was cross bred with a rat somewhere in my evolutionary chain, so I love me some cheese. All the cheese on all items were nearly perfect in texture but literally no flavor. Disappointing for sure. The bacon was decent, the avocado on the grilled cheese sandwich sounds nice, but it is a slimy texture on a cheesy texture, so somehow it wasn’t complimentary. One of those great ideas that doesn’t really come across in the execution. The fries my daughter liked, I thought they were undercooked a bit. The wrap was the best part. I could order it again. Stuffed full of fresh greens, avocado, chicken stuff, and who knows what else. It was good. Again, the fries to me were a bit undercooked and thicker than I like. I’m older school and when I went out in my young days, there were 3 – 4 American beers and maybe 1 – 3 imports to choose from. That was it. The selection of beers was nearly overwhelming. The line of taps on the wall was mesmerizing, nearly a siren song. Well, I got over my culture shock and naiveté and decided to jump in with both feet. The waitress, while a bit slow to approach our table initially(about 10 minutes), was great once the service started. She knew enough about the extensive selection of beers to help me unravel the mystery behind the names and meanings. We choose to order two«flights» of beer. Each ‘flight’ is 4 smaller samples for $ 12 each. We tried 8 beers total, a variety of styles, seeing as we didn’t even know where to begin with such a selection of craft beers. We found some we liked, some that we weren’t as fond of. The clear winner was a grapefruit beer, believe it or not. It was out of this world delicious. Just stunning. We enjoyed every sip and found ourselves a bit silly. We finished off the night with a game of darts and a round of pool. I won one game, lost in the other. I went to pay my water bill before I left. I have to say, the men’s bathroom was flat out disgusting, one of the worst more gross I’ve ever been into in my life. Just nasty and there was no reason for it. It has been allowed to run down and doesn’t match the rest of the place by way of standards. Gross. We had fun and decided we could do this again. I might eat next time before we go as the price wasn’t worth the food, rather ‘meh’ bar food. The beers are outstanding. The service good once it got started. Don’t need to go to the bathroom, nasty. We’ll go back, just for beer and fun.

We’re pretty obsessed with this place. Living near TCU makes it hard to find a bar with a good atmosphere and not drenched in frat boys. this place is just what the west 7th area needed. SOMANYBEERS. They have everything from the IPA side that my boyfriend likes, to the lighter or fun flavors that I like. We can go here on the weekend or on a random day of the week and we never have a bad experience. We’ll order a few options to munch on while we drink and play pool or darts. The bathrooms are never gross(which is so much more than i can say about other west 7th bars) and the patio is roomy. while there are TV’s everywhere to watch any sport you could think of, it doesn’t have that douchey sports bar vibe. also the hard root beer float is awesome(made with not your father’s root beer) and will help any hangover.

Trinity tap house(previously pour house) is an upscale sports bar. It’s a great place to watch the game: large beer selection, good food, and a ton of TVs. First, let’s talk food: the West 7th burger is delicious. With many of the entrees, you get your choice of sweet potato fries, waffle fries, or regular fries. The waffle fries are where it’s at. Their brunch menu also has a ton of yummy selections including breakfast sliders and a breakfast scramble. Okay, now moving onto booze: they have a TON of beer as well as a full bar. At brunch, they offer $ 1 mimosas and $ 2 MANmosas — same situation with poinsettias. Staff is very attentive, even during busy times. It does get quite crowded during game time or brunch. Usually, it’s seat yourself: I.e. Sometimes, you’ll need to shed some blood for a table; one of the few downsides to this place. Parking can also be a downside because there isn’t enough of it and the lot is not easy to peruse for spots. You can park in Backwoods after 8pm and there’s also a garage across the street if you’re really out of options. All in all: great food and great service once find a place to park your car/backside.

I am updating my original review as it was from 2012 when it was still the Pour House and hadn’t been renovated yet. All in all, this place used to suck: it smelt of wet cigarettes and 9 times out of 10 the food gave me the runs. Idk why I gave it 9 chances. Now since they have renovated they have tons of beer, awesome happy hour and lunch specials, nice wait staff, and it doesn’t smell like shit. The patio is also awesome. What else could you ask for? Disclaimer: I’m just a guy, man.

I went with a friend to watch some football and eat dinner. We chose a seat at the end of a long table and waited for a while for a waitress to come. We had to track one down and tell her that we were ready. I don’t hold that against her though because it was busy and we looked like part of another group. Pros: Good beer selection Waitress seemed to know the beers well and had a good suggestion Lots of TVs and seating for watching the game The chicken dish was really good Cons: The queso is actually terrible. It’s a very small layer of white tasteless cheese at the bottom of a cast iron pot. It was hard to eat and it was barely queso. The smoking situation is terrible. I hate smoke and I wanted to enjoy the fall air but several people smoked on the patio and near our table.

I enjoyed this bar. The atmosphere is great and there are plenty of televisions in order to watch your favorite games! I’m from Colorado, so I’m not used to people being able to smoke on the patios, so that’s a downer. This place has a great happy hour, but the servers don’t seem to engaged with their guests and don’t have the best knowledge of their beers. I heard they are closing or moving, but I’m not sure if there is any truth to that rumor.

Holy Happy Hour Tapman –unbeatable price & selection –tasty filling food options & some healthy options too.(For $ 12 I like the 2 servings of protein: chicken, burger, turkey or black bean patty, and salad or veggie of the day) –nice bar area to loiter solo(friendly regulars) or amongst buddies.

After reading some Unilocal reviews, I went in expecting the worst with their service but my whole experience was a pleasant surprise. First of all, it was football Sunday, the Cowboys were playing, and I walked in right at noon. Even though it was just my boyfriend and I, they listened to us and gave us a big table ahead of time because our friends were coming later. Our waitress handled all of our needs, checking up on us often, and took care of our whole party as people trickled in. Great service! The manmosas here are delicious, I would definitely pick them over the mansettia which tasted like watered down cranberry juice. The breakfast scramble was good but it was very heavy on the onions so avoid if you do not enjoy them. The kitchen was nice enough to do one of each(ham, sausage, bacon) of the breakfast sliders for me instead of making me choose just one type. DONOT order the bacon! They were puny little over cooked pieces, it was like eating a cheese and egg slider with no bacon. The sausage was delicious and so was the ham so if you’re getting the sliders get these two. We also got a side of gravy and it was delicious, very similar to whataburger gravy which is a great thing. In all, between my boyfriend and I, we ordered two brunch plates, 3 manmosas, 1 mansettia, and 2 beers and our total was only $ 35 before tip! But they need to do something about the flies. It reminded me of sitting outside eating street food in Asia, it was so bad.

I went to Trinity River Tap House for Saturday brunch. First of all, I love that they are dog friendly! I was able to walk around the park nearby and then enjoy food with my husband and pup, without any guilt of leaving her at home as usually happens on weekends. Go for the«Manmosa» without a doubt! $ 2 for a pint of mimosas? I am so on board with that! And they are a perfect balance of OJ and sparkling wine. The food was very delicious. We started with the Queso Fundido with chorizo. This is like queso flamado, a skillet of hot melty cheese with fixins all on top. It was so good! Then my husband enjoyed his Mac Dog(didn’t have a bite) and I devoured the County Style Eggs Benedict. I highly recommend them for brunch!

Arrived for lunch w/sister and friend around noon. Service was a bit slow, but friendly. Food took a bit longer than we would have liked, especially since it wasn’t super busy, but not a deal breaker. Loaded fries were good, though I definitely did not care for the waffle fries they used — cooled too quickly and were overwhelming for the toppings. Needed less potato and more«stuff.» Turkey reubens… sorry, did not like at all. Way too much slaw. I scraped off the slaw, left the buns and basically ate just the turkey & cheese. Friend liked her burger, sister loved the buffalo wings, though she said the blue cheese dressing was runny and I agree. I ate the wings as leftovers the next night and they still had good buffalo flavor. I’d go back again for the wings and try a few other things. Definitely nothing on this first visit to put me off forever.

Terrible service. My friend and I didn’t even order, we left after being there about 15 — 20 minutes. We walk in — were ignored by the hostess. Saw a sign to sit anywhere, so we sat outside. We waited several minutes for a waitress. One never came outside. We weren’t sure if we had service outside or if we had to order at the bar. I get up and ask the hostess. Several minutes later a waitress finally came out. She asked what we wanted to drink. I get that’s a normal question, but we were never given menus. Had no idea what their beer menu was. She gets us menus. Then she blatantly ignores the table next to us when a guy tried to get her attention to get another drink. We waited several minutes — she never came back to take our order, so we left. Seriously need more/better waitstaff. Not coming back.

After a walk in the park, to check out the aftermath of Mayfest, my first choice for a cold beer was closed on Monday(Fred’s). As I walked back to my car, I passed the Pour House. I have not been to the Pour House since it was in the downtown location. I walked in, with a particular beer choice in mind(Rabbit Hole), but after seeing the special board, opted for a Real Ale that was only $ 3 for a pint. Very cozy place to chill. Impressive wall of over 70 beers on draft. Good happy hour specials too(dollars off regular prices of food and beer). The food I saw looked, and smelled, pretty good. Next time I’m on West 7th, I’ll definitely keep the Pour House in mind, hopefully to score a Rabbit Hole at happy hour prices.

They have a GREATGREAT beer selection BUT the service is consistently horrible. I’ve been week nights, weekend nights and brunch hours. It is always a long wait for your first contact with a server and it always takes forever for the food to come out but I go back because the beer selection.

Pour House is a pretty neat place — especially for med school students who want to celebrate after weekday tests. They have drink specials every night and have great indoor and outdoor options for hanging out. It’s really spacious on the inside, and whenever I have gone we have never had trouble finding seating for a large group of people. They also have pool and darts inside if that’s your thing. Their music is pretty good and they have karaōke nights there as well! I have never been on the weekends, unfortunately, so I can’t speak about their live music or dancing, but I am sure that would live up to standards as well if they are a fun place to hang out during the week! Check them out!

Merry Christmas! Out tonight in search of a «polar beer» with my future wife. Polar beer is patent pending by me so nobody steal it! Detour from the Flying Saucer(our usual haunt) because there were literally 40 police cars parked downtown.(Police convention?) I decided it was not worth the risk of being racially profiled. I have not been to the Pour House in 6 years. The old bar was one of the main TCU hangouts. I was turned off by the cliché club music, the limited Miller Coors beer selection, young crowd, and valet parking. I was floored(pun!) by how different the interior. I swear somehow they added to the square footage. 75ish beers. I drank my whiskey barrel winter warmer to Beyoncé «Drunk in Love.» Did anyone else in this place realize how damn ironic that is? I know for sure the four people to my right had no idea. They were drinking Coors Light.
