Elizabeth is a wonderful piano teacher and friend. She’s very nice and professional, and is willing to make a plan very tailored to your needs as an individual. As an adult student, this was particularly important for me, since I don’t have the same goals as younger players, nor the same amount of practice time. She also made me feel confident and encouraged me to play at the recitals she holds. The recitals were very fun, as I got to see all of the other steady students she’s had since they were children. Elizabeth has a great ability to focus on expression, she taught me to do more than just play the appropriate notes of particular songs, but to teach me to appreciate and perform music with emotions and rich expressions. Also, she doesn’t give students a lot of boring, dry, technique practice. Instead, she merges it with song repertoire practice so that it feels more natural, and to me, approachable.

We have been with Ms. Elizabeth for six years now and our son has had ane excellent experience. It is not just the outstanding technical expertise that she brings but the strong desire she has for her students to succeed not just in piano but in academics and in their life. I would highly recommend whether you are a child or an adult.

It’s rare to find a decent musical instructor these days, but if you are looking for a mentor that is firm yet patient, and has years of experience Elizabeth Smolgovsky is the closest match you will ever get to such a thing. Whether you are the world’s next musical prodigy, or just trying to learn a few of your favorite music pieces, Elizabeth will work with you rather than work on you. As a former student of Ms. Elizabeth for roughly twelve years, I cannot say how entertaining and enjoyable each lesson has been. These past years have been more than just piano lessons. Life lessons have been intertwined with every session as I have grown up with Ms. Elizabeth as my mentor and friend. Her method of teaching is so easy to understand, she makes learning how to play the piano look easy!(almost.) She is extremely easy to get along with and would be more than willing to work with you, so don’t be afraid to communicate! I have seen her range of students vary from 2 year olds to 50 year olds, which shows her exemplary skills of being able to teach students of all kinds and ages. Ms. Elizabeth is Certificate of Merit certified, and teaches Music Theory as well. Her studio is very cozy and can feel like a second home(so be careful of getting too comfortable! You might lose track of the time.) She is the whole package, I don’t see why anybody would hesitate to miss a chance to learn from an amazing mentor like this.
