My hubby and I rented some mountain bikes on a whim during our trip to Scottsdale! He hooked us up super quick and directed us to a great local ride. I will be back for sure! He made it so easy and really made our day! Thanks a lot, Doug! Can’t wait to come back!

I went into the shop to try out a fat bike and get advice about potentially buying one. Doug, the owner was informative and very helpful. I rode professionally for a few years, so I know my way around bikes and bike shops and often bike shop staff can be snotty and patronizing — but there was none of that here. I never mentioned my experience — for all he knew I was a beginner (I hadn’t brought any cycling gear on this trip! I had to borrow a helmet and ride in running shoes and without a chamois). Still, Doug treated me like gold and took time to try to set me up on the bike correctly and recommend some trails in McDowell. He also knew virtually every cyclist who came into the shop by name and was friendly to all. I would highly recommend this shop whether you need a rental, want to purchase, or just get advice about the trails.

This was our second experience renting bikes from Doug at Fountain Hills. Not only is he the nicest guy, the guys in his shop worked on the brakes on my daughters bike without a blink. I got to rent a brand new Specialized Fat Tire bike which was amazing. Three days on the trails at McDowell Mtn and Spur Cross Ranch was sweet on that bike. Returning the bike was a breeze.

This place is out of the way for me unless I’m going to ride at McDowell Mtn. Regional Park. The service we received when we stopped in for little things has caused us to go there and buy two bikes. No high pressure sales, no looking down on you because you’re not a racer. They are really there to help. Whether you’re buying a bike seat or tubes the experience is always pleasant.

I’m a hobbyist cyclist. I just tool around the neighborhood getting a little exercise and sun. Most places treat me like dirt because I don’t wear any special outfits or other biker-​stuff. These guys welcomed me, were engaging, fair and efficient. Highly recommended.

What a great bike store! Tons of bikes, parts, and lots of accessories, too. They are all so helpful and make sure you are happy before you walk out the door. Bicycles for rent whatever you need they have it and with a friendly smile…

Doug is great ! he has a very complete bike shop with an amazing line of new bikes. You want an organic bamboo bicycle. he’s got it. you want a high end, state of the art mountain bike or touring bike, he’s got it. you want a cruiser for yourself, you guessed it, he’s got it. even great bikes for the kids in all sizes and colors. They have a fantastic repair service as well with very reasonable rates. Doug really knows his stuff. He is an avid rider himself and has been in the business for years. It is worth the drive to head out to Fountain Hills Bikes. He is at the north end of Fountain Hills so if you are looking for a great place to meet friends before a nice ride, this is the place. Easy to find and real easy going guys.
