Seriously, some people are way too critical and nit pick at everything. Let me start by saying that I started backwards in the affairs of eating at these cajun seafood places. In the course of a year and a half since I discovered this delightful style of food I have eaten at 5 cajun seafood restaurants(repeated times) before eating at BC and then a week after BC I ate here at Crab Buster. Let me tell you, this place is awesome!!! The inside is like a carbon copy of the BC and it is quite expansive and empty(don’t know why)?! My husband and I came here on a Monday night right at 5pm and were seated immediately. We ordered the 2 lbs of shrimp special for $ 19.99 which includes 2 corn on the cob and the sausage. We got it spicy with all the seasonings and flavorings. We also ordered a side of cajun rice. Let me tell you, this was hands down the best of the 6 previous Cajun places I had been too(with Buckets in Norwalk being a very close second)! The shrimp were huge and the flavor was so garlicky and spicy with just a hint of the celery salt in the end. The seasoned cajun rice was soo good. Our bill was under $ 29 bucks including my husband’s soft drink. People need to stop hating just because BC is their favorite and have a closed mind about every other place. The staff is very nice. i knocked one star because I had to get up twice to get a refill. All the staff was sitting down having dinner together so it was understandable. When they saw me get up, they tended to us hand and foot after that. This place is legit and you shoud give it a try!

I only decided to try this place because I was in a Ghostbusters theme song kind of mood. Who you gonna call? Crab buster. Nanananana. Queue cheesy music. I was not in a mood to be picky so I ordered their combo(with 3lbs seafood) in their house sauce, expecting it to be similar to all of the other places, hoping that it would be like BCs. Also tried some of the regular appies — fries, cajun wings. Everything is super greasy leaving you feeling bloated and… oily. Their sauce(in the seafood) is strange, not what I was expecting, it too was drenched in oil so the temptation to dip was gone. I resorted to good ol’ lemon with salt and pepper. It was pretty busy for a weeknight, but no line! Yay! However this in turn translated into mediocre service. Nothing special, and they forgot to fill our drinks(I was so thirsty I wanted to drink the oil sauce). So I guess I resorted to listening to MC Hammer — U can’t touch this. Nananana.

Well, I wish I could say that I loved this place but in all honesty it was not my favorite. We came for dinner on Saturday night and they were very understaffed. We were the only table, we waited almost an hour before we even got our fries, and that was after complaining. Finally the food started coming out we ordered cajun fries, garlic noodles, shrimp, craw fish, & crab. The fries were decent, but not cajun by any means and the garlic noodles were okay too, but quite greasy. The shrimp was seasoned well and tasty, but I had no idea they would bring it all to the table in bags and you had to take it apart yourself. I sat and starred at the poor little shrimp in front of me pondering the best way to do this while he starred back at me with his beaty black eyes. Finally I went for it and was able to peel a few. I fear if I had to fend for myself in the wild I would not do well although I am pretty good at foraging, so I end up reverting to veganism. But I digress, once the balance of the meal arrived I was unable to fathom taking apart the craw fish so I did not try that. Much later in the meal our server came out and told us the crab we ordered was not available. They ended up subbing it with King Crab and that freaked me out so I didn’t try that either. Although my friends seemed to love every last morsel. I have to give them credit for trying to correct their issue with being understaffed and lacking in service by subbing the crab and offering us a free round of beer, but this really not my cup of tea so I don’t think I will be returning.

came in after the lunch rush so it was only me. the space is pretty much like crab hut without the full menu. i had really wanted some crawfish etouffe but they didn’t have it. instead, i went with the server’s recommendation and ordered a pound of shrimp. they were the big, juicy ones drenched in the house sauce. the sweet tea was refilled several times by my server who was really friendly. tip: you get 10% off the bill if you check in on Unilocal!bring cash otherwise, they do charge fees for cc on low amounts.

i really wish i loved this place because it’s super close to home and it’s right by craved tea. 2 pounds of cajun food + boba = happy camper. unfortunately, this place just does not tickle my pickle the way claws does. after reading all the Unilocal reviews we went on a friday night around 8. there was 1 table. it’s actually quite a big place, but there was only 1 sad lonely table. the servers told us the place was new, which was why it was so empty… we ordered the combo that came with a pound of mussel, a pound of shrimp, a pound of crawfish, 1 potato, 2 corn and 6 sausages for 39.99 you can switch around the seafood, which we did, and opted out of the crawfish and went for 2 pounds of shrimp. also, an order of the cajun fries. cajun fries. thicker fries, but very ltitle in portion. not sure what makes them cajun, because they just tasted like regular greasy fries to me. reaction 1. when they say 3 pounds it must include the corn, the potatoes, and the sausages because it was quite a dinky bag. reaction 2. the sauce is sweet. is it just me or is the sauce sweet? why is it sweet?! what is this taste? reaction 3. the potato is purple! which is okay, because there are purple potatoes. but, boy do these potatoes taste kind of old… reaction 4.(from the sister) dude, i took a bite of the sausage and it just tasted like fungus… is it just me??? i’m pretty sure it was just her, because they tasted mediocre to me. reaction 5, 6, 7, 8 to infinity. should have just drove the extra miles to claws. the wait staff was nice. albeit, it was empty so they really didn’t have much to do, but i could tell they were trying hard to get the place more busy. unfortunately, the food really was just not that good, and i doubt i will be returning.

I love this place! Okay, it’s empty. I don’t get it. But it is. The food is just as good as Boiling Crab. The fried stuff isn’t great, but I don’t go to those places for the fried stuff. I go for the seafood. Their seafood is bomb AND I don’t have to wait two to three hours for it. My favorite is the garlic flavor with no spice. No spice has a little spice which is how I like it. Just go, sit, and eat. You will not be disappointed.

Coming into Crab Buster on a Friday night was scary when the restaurant is EMPTY. However, after a few minutes of doubting and second guessing myself, boyfriend and I opted to stay. We’re glad we did! Apparently craw fish wasn’t in season… so we got shrimpies instead. One in lemon pepper and one in garlic butter. The garlic butter was pretty good! Could be a bit saucier, but still very delicious. The lemon pepper is possibly one of the BEST lemon pepper sauces I’ve had in a long time. We also ordered the Dungenous crab which was fresh and had plenty of meat to pick out. All in all, Crab Buster was a pleasant surprise to my taste buds when my eyes and instinct had told me to steer away. I suggest you guys start eating your crawfish/shrimp/crab/lobster here while there’s absolutely no wait. Go go go! :) Will be back soon.

I decided to try this place out since it was a new place and did not feel like waiting hours at another crawfish place. When arriving we were greeted quickly and with smiles from all the servers. The serving staff were very helpful, but you can tell everyone was still on a learning curve. There were some issues with table service and sometimes I was confused who was serving us or could help us for something simple like water refills. The servers tended to group up at the station and hang out since there were only a total of 2 tables with customers while we were there. It was hard to get their attention sometimes. As for the food, I found nothing wrong. The crawfish tasted great, the sauce was good and the sweet potato fries were good and well portioned. As with any new place you are always hesitant, but I would give it a couple more months and I am sure this place will get even better.

Came by the restaurant around 4PM on a Sunday before the dinner rush and the staff was very eager and friendly which is typical for any new restaurants. I tried the cajun crawfish and clams and both were very good, in fact I could not tell much of a difference in flavor or quality compared to other crawfish places. The size was good as well and the flavors were just right. The interior has a lot of resemblances to other seafood place with a lot of tvs, a really nice atmosphere if you wanna come eat/drink or watch a game with friends while enjoying terrific seafood!

We stopped by last Saturday to check this place out and to look at the menu. It was very clean and new, no fishy smells. We checked the wine and beer list and were happy they had what we wanted, so we decided to bring the family the following day which happened to be Mother’s Day. Our main focus was crab so we ordered the king crab legs with garlic butter. They were good and messy. We then ordered the steamed snow crab which was the better of the two. We had to taste the garlic noodles, being a fan of them at AnQi. I would not order these again but would come back for the crab. Raw oysters, according to my daughter were fresh and meaty. Since this is a new business I know it takes a while to get the groove, including training your servers so I will give them some time. Pros: Clean. Fresh. Friendly.Spacious. Love the family style of grabbing crab from the middle of the table. Cons: All condiments are extra, meaning butter, cocktail sauce, seasonings, etc… with the cost of the crab I would think it would be included. Wine was warm. I was surprised with all of the plastic and paper at first but then I thought it was cool that I didn’t have to eat off of someone else’s plate. I haven’t gone to some of the other similiar restaurants so I can’t compare, but we are huge crab lovers and have had some of the best and worst. I would definitely come back.

I enjoyed my meal, we ordered the combo #1, 1lb of shrimp, and three orders of sweet potato fries. I liked the seasoning a lot! The restaurant itself still has the new vibe, and you have to expect that a few things are a work in progress. The service was nice, attentive, and I looooved that there were free refills on the drinks. It was pretty empty but then again it was a lazy Sunday afternoon… perhaps it’s more crowded on a game day/Friday night? Either way, I recommend it.

Came here for our early mother’s day meal. Ordered to Combo #2 with one pound shrimp, one pound mussels, one pound clams, one pound crawfish with 4 corn, two potato and six pieces of susage in it. We ordered the crab buster special seasoning — spicy –Thought the seasoning was pretty good with an awesome mix of garlic, cajun and butter. The crawfish was on the small size and a few tasted rotten, the shrimp were big and meaty, clams were big and juicy, mussels plentiful as well. The king crab legs were a disappointment – at 20.99(ballpark) a pound, the crab legs were on the small size and not as meaty as the ones we had had boiling crab. LOVED the cajun fried rice(doesn’t look like anything special but very tasty!). Would come here in boiling crab was overcrowed. Hopefully they can improve on the freshness of their crawfish and have waitresses who knows the menu cold!

This restaurant is barely a week old, but I’ve already been twice. Fun atmosphere, great food, reasonable prices. Also, if you’re a Cajun seafood-in-a-bag fan(like I am) you’ll appreciate the fact that you don’t have to wait 1.5 hours to sit down like in some other restaurants! I don’t know how long that’ll last, but for now, it’s great. Servers are very sweet and attentive as well. We had a combo — all sorts of stuff all in one bag(I think it was 3 pounds) for only $ 28. The sauce was great, and it was the perfect quantity for two people. We did also order some King crab, even though we were stuffed. I liked the fact that different seasonings actually did have really distinct flavors(we tried two: the Crab Buster seasoning on the combo, and the lemon pepper seasoning on the crab — both good). Btw, family-owned restaurant — no big corporation here. I’ll definitely be going back.

I came to Crab Buster looking for an alternative to the ever infamously crowded Boiling Crab. To my surprise, this place was actually really good: D The place is very spacious(no wait when I went, which hopefully changes a bit soon). The Service: The service was great from my experience. I read other reviews say the service was bad? I’m pretty sure that must’ve been one of their off days(or maybe this was when they first opened up and haven’t gotten the hang of things yet). Anyways, the waitresses were really helpful and answered my questions well. They actually helped me decide what to order: P The Food: I would first like to counter one of the reviews here on the temperature of the food. Someone stated the food was cold, but from my experience, the food was HOT and STEAMY, the way Cajun food should be. I ordered: Fries, Chicken Wings, a pound of Clams, and a pound of Shrimp(both at «spicy» seasoning). The fries were pretty good. They are lightly seasoned(not as much as Boiling Crab), but for my taste, I enjoyed it. The cut of the fries are thicker also. The chicken wings were actually a little on the bland side. They were fried crispy and the chicken was moist and everything, but there was not much seasoning on it. The way I eat my wings at Cajun places, I put the wing into the bag of seafood? To let the wings absorb the sauce. So for my experience, the wing still tasted good after being soaked in the sauce from the clams. However, I do not think the wings would be very good eaten alone. I really enjoyed the clams! I have had the clams at the boiling crab and they’re clams are small and often contain many empty shells :(At Crab Buster, I didn’t feel ripped off, the clams were fairly big/plump and delicious. The shrimp was also really good! They were big and cooked well x) The sauce for the clams and shrimp were really good! Many of the Cajun places opening up have very watered down seasoning, but Crab Buster’s sauce was delicious! All in all, Crab Buster is a great alternative to the Boiling Crab. I’d probably be going here more often since Boiling Crab is so crowded and the food here is just as good :)

In my book, this place is 3.5 stars. Because it is new, there are plenty of room for improvement. Upon arrival, I initially thought it wasn’t open because of how dark it was. The place was spacious and had plenty of booth seats. I asked someone to turn on some extra lights, because it was that dark. Our server, Jenny, was very cute! Can’t complain about service because there was only us and one other table. We ordered their Combo #1 deal, and the shrimp and crawfish were huge. The sauce was good, though could’ve had added more garlic to it. Halfway through eating, we realized we only got 2 sausages instead of 6. The Cajun fries weren’t worth 4 bucks for how much they give you. Oh, and they tasted more like Jack in the Box fries instead of Cajun. They did give us another one on the house though. The service was great, and the manager was nice enough to give us %10 off our next visit.

Seriously an awesome place. Being new, I didn’t come in with the best expectations, but I was seriously blown out of my mind. The sauce was delicious. Even though we ordered just regular spicy, it was already really hot. They actually had something called Dynamite, which is even spicier. I can’t imagine how much that would burn. The service was awesome, too. They would always come to ask if we wanted refills, and my cup was never empty once. They’d also come around every so often and as us how the food was going. It only took a few minutes for them to bring out the delicious food. While waiting, we just asked for a few markers and drew up on the walls and the pillars. Since it was new, my friends and I managed to draw in a lot of places,(sorry if there’s no more room later, hah). All in all, this is seriously one of the best Cajun restaurants I’ve gone to in a while. There was a lot of room, with awesome music and even televisions to watch some shows on if you get bored of drawing.

Lots of room friendly staff great food. I recommend the wings or catfish if you’re not into crawfish(yet that is a must) paired with any of their beers. The place has been open 3 days and I’ve already been here twice.

First and foremost: Jason C, you beat me to be the first to review this place. Please allow me to add to your review if I may. 1) Draft beer is most definitely a must. I’m hoping my personal .02 cents along with your speedy review can lead to some tasty beers on tap. *crossing fingers for shocktop* I actually asked the owner why they don’t serve draft. The answer: it’s going to take 4 – 6 weeks for the fire dept to inspect safety requirements for the piping to run the draft lines. Expect minor delays before tasty draft beer is available. Bummer. 2) Lots of things are similar to other similar cajun/crawfish restaurants, especially in the 626⁄714 area such as décor and layout. Nothing really seperated this restaurant from others to be completely honest. A bit redundant, but honestly– for their niche market, aren’t they all the same? My complete .02 cents: What I did like, is that it was a bit more spacious than other places that tend to be on the cramp side. That definitely allows for larger parties. The music was not lout at all, which was a plus. Those two things were definitely a refreshing change of pace. And now, on to the food: Highlights: The seasoning was definitely a highlight being that I’m pretty picky about flavor profile. I’ve noticed that the common theme with crawfish restaurants usually add spices like it’s going out of style. I’m a firm believer that less can be more. As expected, they offer a combination of garlic butter, lemon pepper and cajun seasoning. My point is that you don’t have to drown crawfish with seasoning to make it flavorful. Anyone who cooks knows seasoning ratios are the key. I was particularly fond of the catfish and Cajun wings. The catfish was battered lightly and it was fried just right– good texture and mild seasoning. I recommend ordering with sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. The Cajun wings were prepared similar to the catfish. For the wings, it was a bit on the mildly favored side, but the best part was that the wings were very juicy as opposed to super dry fried wings. Crispy, but not fried to all hell. I like these two dishes fried, not nuked in frying oil– this place has a good recipe. I’m a fan. I recommend the wings with ranch. Love that they accept AMEX unlike a lot of restaurants in the area. Hey, it makes a difference. Until the draft beer comes in, I’ll have to settle for delicious blue moon in bottle. Hope this helps. ENJOY!!!
