ION Strength and Conditioning

I have been a member for 3 years now. In the past, I’ve had 24 hour fitness membership and bought Groupons for various types of classes such as barre cardio, dance, and yoga. This is the only thing that I’ve been able to stick with. I enjoy having the different workouts on the board, personal attention from the coaches, and seeing everyone’s results. This is a gym where everyone is welcoming and like family. Jeremy is the BEST! JUSAYIN

ION is a great place to improve your fitness and test your limits WITHOUT the pressure. Everyone, from the coaches to the members are encouraging and welcoming. Whatever fitness goal you have, ION is there to cater to you and help you reach that goal. I used to be a gym rat, but wanted something more, something different and I found that in ION. This place is not your typical gym. It becomes your second home and everyone is like family. If you’re bored of your workouts, tired of the gym atmosphere and looking to become the BEST you that you can be, then ION is the place!

Workouts are tough but fun. I have seen great strength & agility results. The coaches are very experienced and motivational.

Definitely some of the best workouts that I have ever done by far! The coaches are great! They are knowledgeable, provide feedback on your technique when needed, and make sure you have a great workout. And most importantly, they make sure you have fun while doing it!

«Let’s do boot camp at the cross fit gym!,» my friend says. Crossfit coaches make me wary and I told her reluctantly I’ll try it out, BUT my goal is to be lean not muscular.
I tried it out and Jeremy was awesome. The gym members are awesome and so encouraging! I loved the welcoming atmosphere and no pressure to not verexert yourself or you may hurt yourself. I did push my limits with the others encouraging «You can do it! «and «Keep it up!». It helps to see the same familiar kind faces. Beware the first week soreness is killer but that’s for anytime you break into a new workout regimen. My lazy butt almost quit!
I’m a dentist, so I realized how awesome the shoulder and back strengthening helped. I see my chiropractor every two weeks and he even noticed how much stronger I am in my upper body! I did my boot camp maybe 2 times a wk for 3 wks by then and also run on the side at Mile Square Park nearby.
Try them out! You can do so well if you are motivated! Working out has become a high habit now for me for the first time in my life! It feels so good and seeing the results are awesome. Dieting follows naturally. I’m not going to let my aging 35 year old body get the best of me!

Jeremy is a great coach! The gym has all the necessary equipment. He modified the workout for me to fit my specific needs. He is so motivating & friendly!

Ion strength and conditioning is a great place to be at to work out. This is the place you can focus and be motivated to give it your all and change your life completely strongly recommend it.

Been a member for over 2 years and still loving it. I’ve been able to accomplish things I would have never thought I could, running half marathons, Ragnar race, etc… It’s a lot of hard work, but the pay off is definitely worth it! I would definitely recommend Ion!

I think I’ve pretty much tried it all– 24 hr fitness and their classes, those cheap $ 10 gyms, a couple of personal training sessions, dvds, downloaded videos, more dvds, apps, tried even more dvds– and you know what? Ion Strength and Conditioning beats them all.
Why? I think i can narrow it down to 3 things…
1) who? the People. The coaches are super knowledgeable, patient, they get to know you and they help modify exercises if you have any preexisting conditions or have some kind of injury, they are there for you and they root you on just when you think you have nothing left. Your peers, they root you on too, alongside the coaches. There’s a sense of commoraderie, and a sense of community.
2) what? the Workouts, oh ho ho the workouts… Ok, let’s get real here– expect to be heaving for air, using every last muscle fiber of your being to complete the workout without passing out, and pushing yourself to the very outer limits. You will find yourself struggling to complete the workout. But That. Is. The. Point. You want to be pushed, to improve your time, to better your endurance, to be as fit as you can be. There’s two types of WODs. One is Intensity and the other Nucleus, I believe it’s called. The Intensity one is bootcamp endurance kind of workouts. The Nucleus one is more of heavy weights. Correct me if I’m wrong. You get to pick which one you want to do to tailor it to your needs.
3) where? the Place. Location, location, location. Located in Fountain Valley, down the street from my old high school Los Amigos. It’s off of Harbor. Easily accessible, plenty of parking. Spacious gym, lots of equipment. Support your local gym, not the fat cats behind gym chains!
Classes are offered in mornings and afternoons/​evenings, weekends too I think. Check their hours. I work a regular 9 to 5, so I can stop in at 530 or 630 for a workout.
If you’re looking for something different, for you to test yourself, to get fit, you have to come here and try it. I think they have an introductory period. I would take full advantage of it!

Sundays are always Fundays with an outstanding work out at Ion! And sometimes even two work outs on Fundays!

ION is more than a gym, it is a place that fosters the pursuit of fitness. From its members & coaches to the daily workout ION pushes me to be my best.
I recommend ION to someone who is looking for something different than a typical gym with machines.

Chest/​triceps, back/​biceps, legs, cardio, and repeat. If this sounds familiar and you’re not getting the results you want, then read on. I am a former consistent globo gym member and hs/​college athlete, but nothing could have prepared me physically for the crossfit type workouts. Jeremy’s programming consistently pushes your limits in strength and conditioning while keeping workouts varied and interesting. I saw steep improvements in conditioning and I became leaner than when I was most consistent with my traditional regimen. Even though the stress is more on olympic lifts and gymnastics, to my surprise, I also saw gains in my typical gym lifts (press, bench, squat etc). And you’re in and out the door in 60 min. As long as you commit to push yourself each workout and stick to a somewhat reasonable diet, you’ll get results. There’s no fancy gym equipment or TVs. There’s just a garage, an effective program, and a supportive group of people motivating each other to achieve their fitness goals, no matter what level you’re at. — Former Crossfit Skeptic

I Love the improvements that Ion Strength and conditioning are making to their box. I am trying to make it there more often. The coaches are GREAT and the people I workout with are AWSOME! It makes me want to do better and work harder!

Ion Strength & Conditioning is my second home. If there isn’t a reason to miss I won’t. Introduced back in 2014 and Meeting Coach Jeremy I was instantly hooked the dedication and hard work it takes. Crossfit Ion is the best. I was member of another Crossfit for about 2 years. I injured my back and decided to try again. Jeremy was very understanding and adjusted the daily WOD to accommodate my injury,
Nothing against the prior Crossfit, but it seemed the philosophy was to «work through» the injury. I took off 18 months after barely finishing a spartan mud run. I never planned to do Crossfit again.
Crossfit Ion has an Intensity WOD that is offered every day with the regular WOD. On those days when you just can’t do the regular WOD, the Intensity WOD is the ticket!
Coach Jeremy is the best!

Came in for a drop in, very nice and friendly owners/​coaches and members. Had a great workout and would definitely recommend.

Crossfit Ion might be one of the single greatest things that has happened to me. I always thought I was in good shape and as someone in their late 20’s with a pretty good figure I would have never thought otherwise.
I sure was in for a rude awakening (in a very good way). I went in my first time in the beginning of November 2012. I was walked through what all crossfit was about, prior to that I really had no idea what it was besides «working out». Little did I know it would become a lifestyle. After going over all the points of crossfit and showing me the gym, they had me do «baseline». Wow! Nearly 14 minutes later I thought I was going to pass out. I couldn’t really talk due to not being able to catch my breath. After about 10 minutes I started to come back to reality. What a workout. And in under 14 minutes!
That first day was on a Thursday, I went back the next day and signed up. The next 2 weeks might have been the roughest of my life. I had never been so sore before. Every part of my body felt it. As the soreness faded I started to notice improvements in all movements and lifts.
I now look back at my first days and I can’t believe the gains I have made. «Baseline» is now a warmup for me. All my times are continually dropping and I PR (personal record) on all my lifts all the time.
The biggest thing that I should point out is how close our box is. Crossfit Ion is not just a gym, we are a family. The coaches and all the members equally included. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. Thank you very much to Rudy (it took a year but he finally got me in), Jeremy, Jesse, Zee, Steve, and all the other members of Crossfit Ion.

I have been working out at Crossfit ION since August 2012. When I arrived I couldn’t even do a squat. To date, I can squat, pull-​up and dead lift twice my body weight and so, so much more. When I started working out here I just wanted to lose weight and get back in shape; It has become so much more than that now. I have discovered strength I never knew I had and have developed a new perspective on beauty. Strong is the new skinny and I am so happy to have learned that. Jeremy and the other coaches at ION motivate you without being brash. I know a lot of people have trepidation over starting something as rigorous as Crossfit because they fear it is going to be like «Boot camp» or the coaches are going to yell at them. It isn’t like that at all. You will be cheered on by your coaches and peers alike because everyone there has had a «first workout» and they know it isn’t easy, it never gets easier, you get stronger. I used to dread going, and some days I still do, but that’s the amazing part about it… eventually you get excited to conquer a new workout, because you know the tougher it is the prouder you are going to be about completing it. I could never say I felt that way after leaving and elliptical machine at 24 hour fitness.
Give this a try. Don’t listen to the hype and trash talk that is out there about Crossfit. No one is going to force you to do more than you can handle (they will push you to do what they know you can). It isn’t going to kill you. You aren’t going to be yelled at. The coaches are going to be there to make sure you are doing the movements right to prevent injury (I have never been injured). It is worth the cost. It is amazing how people will drop $ 50 – 100 at a restaurant or bar without a thought, but asked to give any amount for their health and fitness it’s «too much.» Your health is worth it. And the moment you step into that bikini, or look in the mirror to see what a sexy man beast you have become, I doubt you will have any buyers remorse.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE CrossFit Ion. So I had been warned that Crossfit causes injury, Crossfit coaches yell at you, the workouts are more for already fit peoplem crossfit wouldn’t help me get the figure I want, blah blah blah… SOO Glad I didn’t listen to anyone and went to try it out.
I think this place is the best because our coach Jeremy is awesome and all the people working out with me are so amazing and supportive.
Not gonna lie. the «baseline– try it out day» seems easy it took me about 10 mins to do I was like cool let me tell my fiancé and we’ll probably join… the next day I could barely walk. I was sore like I had never been before. (I’ve ran in 3 marathons and 2 half marathons). But that had me sold. I was not injured and I know that with CrossFit Ion training that my strength, health and figure will improve dramatically. Already in 2.5 months, I can do so much more than I could on day one and although I still get a little sore, that just tells me it’s working and Coach Jeremy works with me to ensure I don’t injure myself. Also I check my ego at the door and focus on good form.
