I can’t believe this! My absolute favorite bagel shop has shut down… Honestly, it’s a sad day in the OC This is just proof that 100+ reviews for a 4 star location does not mean that everyone will succeed. RIP Izzy’s

Izzy’s has recently closed in FV. I’m hoping they find another OC location and reopen. The best bagels I have found as a former NYr anywhere in The OC/SD area. Izzy’s if you re-open, please write a note here at Unilocal for all your fans to find the new store. I still drive by the location wistfully…

This business closed. Went by there today and everything inside was gone. What a shame.

This place gets 3 stars since I really liked how there was variety. I would have added in another star if the service was better.

By far the best bagel place I’ve eaten at. Best time to go is early morning when the bagels are fresh. Me and my friends go on Monday mornings before school starts because of late start. I always get the French toast bagel with maple cream cheese! Tastes just like French toast! I ask for it double toasted though. The staff is super friendly! Definitely recommend this to all my out of town friends.

Tons of bagels to choose from. Cinnamon Raisin and Asiago Spinach are great! Don’t come too late or you will not have much left to choose from. Tried the egg and cheese sandwich once and I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone. The egg was terrible. Not real egg, the fake stuff and didn’t taste fresh. Yuck! The bottom line: Come here for awesome bagels and good selection of cream cheeses, but NOT their breakfast sandwiches!

Everything bagel prepared«Original»: avocado, onion, cream cheese, cheese, tomato, lettuce and sprouts. I’ve been on the hunt for a solid bagel place since moving from Costa Mesa; seems like I’ll have to keep looking. They open early and have a pretty beefy selection of bagels. The bagel itself was toasted perfectly and was very good, though the sandwich I ordered didn’t mesh too well with the strong flavors from the cheese and bagel. This would have been a four star without a doubt, but I gave them three because of the customer service. I absolutely hate when I’m asked what I would like to order first and told what ingredients they’re out of second. This morning, they were out of avocados. If half the breakfast sandwiches list avocado as an ingredient, probably a good idea to make sure you have some in stock Monday morning or save the customer some time and let then know ahead of time. My two cents. Choosing the PB&J next time. Pros: tasty selection, open early 7-days a week, large dining area, convenient location Cons: CS… it IS Monday so I’ll visit again on a diff day, only one blended coffee drink. Really, just one.

My go-to breakfast joint when I’m late for church on Sundays haha. At first, I just got their bagel with cream cheese(LOVE their honey almond), but I found out how delicious their breakfast egg, cheese, and canadian bacon sandwiches are. I especially like it with the Hawaiian bagel because it adds a tinge of sweet without needing jam. I try a different bagel every time but can never remember what they are. No bad ones yet though!

I don’t eat carbs for breakfast. I just don’t. They don’t last me through the day, and usually the options are boring… why would I eat a muffin, when I could have steak and eggs? Izzy’s Bagels is the exception, and boy am I glad it is. Izzy’s redefined bagel love for me and is pretty much the only place I want to get a bagel now. Besides that, they’re the cutest little family run place with the nicest staff and who doesn’t want to support that? Though I’m from the east coast, I don’t really know much about what a traditional«east coast» or New York style bagel is supposed to be… I’ve never been to NYC, so I can’t compare, but Izzy’s is what I imagine they should taste like… good, simple water bagels that are fresh and savory. And there’s a fantastic selection of specialty cream cheeses, too… I love the jalapeño/cheddar/bacon(love just saying the name) and the salmon cream cheeses. See? These flavors make it more of a meal for someone picky like me. I’m usually pretty all set with a toasted bagel and specialty cream cheese but there are also yummy breakfast sandwiches with egg and cheese and you can get bagels to go and also tubs of cream cheese to go. I love their Salt bagel and also their Hawaiian bagel(pineapple and toasted coconut). And there’s juices, and hot teas and coffees… perfect. I like that when I get hot tea they give you your choice of tea bag and then you can fix up your cup how you want from their milk/sugar bar. That’s another great thing about Izzy’s…it’s so homey. It’s always full of regulars and though take-out is possible, it’s the sort of place you like to sit and linger over breakfast and the paper. I think it’s really cute that they have all sorts of family pictures on the wall and a «book alley» where you can trade out books to read or buy a book for $ 1. They also have a little children’s corner and a bunch of board games if you want to hang out. It makes it very welcoming and gives it a sweet touch. Izzy’s is kind of hidden away in the CVS plaza on Warner, but be sure to stop in… it’s well worth it and Izzy’s will become your go-to spot for bagel deliciousness!

Spur of the moment drop-in. Okay, I confess. I had to pee and it was the only decent place open that early. And if I’m going to use any place’s facility, I’m going to buy something out of courtesy. Good choice! This is one heck of a nice bagel shop! I wished that I wasn’t in a hurry to hit the road again because this is the kind of place I wouldn’t mind hanging around for a while. Nice inviting setting and what made me happy was their entire hallway(on the way to the nice clean restroom) lined with 1,000s of paperback books! Very friendly young man working the counter. I ordered an Asiago cheese/Spinach bagel with cream cheese. He toasted it on his own which I appreciated because when in a bagel shop, fresh bagels are best hot, right? This was supposed to be for my husband, but well… My intended«little taste» turned into me eating the whole thing. I regretted not buying more to take home. So many interesting choices! Hopefully, someday, we’ll be back.

such a classic local business. i have been here countless times, and their service has always been great — they have very dedicated staff members, and the owner is sometimes working, too! it’s great to see an owner doing the work and being a part of the process, plus they have so many friends and old customers that come in and you can see that they have developed great relationships with people in the community. what i always get is the jalapeño cheese bagel with cream cheese, tomato, and lemon pepper(open faced). that thing is soooooo delish — the jalapeño bagel is also good, but jalapeño cheese is better! also try their breakfast sandwiches! they have good iced coffee as well, and every day they have one flavored iced coffee — you can read what the flavor is on the chalkboard on the wall to the left. :) izzy’s also has an awesome book thing going — you can buy the books that they have on display — children’s books are on the bookshelf in the main area, and there are a bunch of bookshelves in the hall on the way to their bathroom that have books you can buy! i think they are 50 cents each!

I work right down the street from this shop and I LOVE the bagels! The French toast bagel with their new caramel cream cheese is amazing! Everything is made fresh. The shop is clean. The staff are extremely nice and helpful when your undecided in what you would like to choose! I love that its is covenant for me to grab some breakfast before work, have a nice chat with the staff, and some days I even stop in to grab some lunch since they also make bomb sandwiches. A new thing I heard that they may start doing, is package deals. Which is awesome because I have employees, so I would be able to also get my own staff breakfast to show my appreciation towards them.

Izzy’s has several flavors of bagels and just as many flavors of cream cheese to choose from plus great friendly service. I had the garlic, cheese, jalapeño bagel with cream cheese and it was everything I expected: strong garlic flavor with hints of spiciness here and there. My wife had the everything bagel which was pretty salty(I would avoid it if you don’t like salt). Very cozy environment that made me feel quite comfortable. Their black coffee was pretty terrible; reminded me more of black tea. I don’t recommend it if you are expecting it to jump start your day. Their mocha was sweet and tasty. I am going to go back for the bagels but probably avoid the coffee in the future

Best place in HB to go for Bagels!!!(and it’s not even in HB! LOL) Izzy’s Bagels is the kind of neighborhood Mom and Pop bagel shop that you would expect to walk into on the East Coast. They have great customer service and treat you like part of the family. I consider myself a bagel snob and their bagels are Ahhhh mazing! My usual is an Everything Bagel with margarine and a huge diet coke! I guess I’m a fountain soda snob too and I love their combination of syrup and soda in their diet coke! I also love that Izzy’s is independently owned and operated and would rather give them my hard earned dough than a chain. So if you want a super awesome bagel and want to support some super awesome people then go to Izzy’s!

We were driving through between LA and Irvine and stopped here for brekkie. Such a cute little place right off the 405! Their bagels all looked super scrumptious, especially snicker doodle and Hawaiian! I love how they have the traditional spreads but also innovative ones as well(Tuscan, pumpkin) for quirky foodies like me :) Reasonable prices + super friendly people here + a really warm, inviting, casual environment make for a fun, cozy stop in the morning

Love the bagels here… the French toast tastes just like its namesake… especially when coupled with the maple cream cheese. I tend to get the sweeter bagels as their cream cheese seems slightly sweet and pairs well with the sweet ones. The lattes are ok… not the best I’ve ever had but enjoyable all the same. Service is pretty good, its genuine and laid back… not falsely perky… which I like. The only downfall is that it is not very fast paced, so if you’re in a hurry and you see a line, beware! They need to change their setup, each girl takes a customer beginning to end. Ford came up with the assembly line for a reason ladies! Bagels are definitely with the wait if you have the time to sit down and enjoy the awesome atmosphere!

Ordered a large black coffee and fell asleep in class an hour later… –_– Really? Taste was meh and it definitely wasnt strong enough. Now onto the bagel. It cut up the inside of my mouth. No bueno! The bagel itself was smaller and skinnier than normal. Turkey bagel sandwich: Strike #1: Not enough veggies = nothing to balance out the saltiness from turkey meat. There was one(okay. maybe two) pieces of lettuce and a super thin tomato slice. Strike #2: HARD bagel. Strike #3: …How do you mess up coffee. I finished my sandwich with a scowl because I was hungry and I wouldn’t get another meal for 4 – 5 hours. Will not be back.

I love Izzy’s! It’s a great neighborhood bagel shop that I’ve been going to ever since I was a kid in grade school back the late 90’s. I’m rarely in the area now, but when I am, I will usually stop by to get myself a bagel. I like how they use whipped cream cheese and offer a wide variety of bagels and spreads. When it comes to bagels, I’m a Simpletarian. I rarely stray from my simple toasted onion bagel with cream cheese, but last time I was here I felt adventurous and got a breakfast bagel sandwich with egg, cheese and Canadian bacon. Pretty yummy even though they just microwave the egg! Can’t wait to try something else. After 12 years, I’m finally expanding my palette!
