Joey’s Pizza

This is the BEST pizza in Orange county! My husband and I have bought no other pizza. We’ve met the owed Joe and his family and they are the BEST!!!

I called during the super bowl and the person over the phone was not friendly at all. He was actually rude. After sounding bothered by taking my order he asked for my street address, placed me on hold, then said «you’re out of our delivery range». No apology or explanation. I’m 2.5 miles away from their parlor. I’m new to the area and it’s clear that Joey won’t earn any business from me, he most likes doesn’t want it anyway.

I’m on a roll. With my son away at college and my wife and daughter on a vacation, I’m home alone. Aaahhhhhhhh!
Time to knock off a few more bookmarks. I have never seen Joey’s, let alone tried their pizza. They are a block away from home but I rarely go into this shopping center outside of a visit to Papa Z’s. Gees, I always thought Papa Z’s sounded more like a pizza joint.
I ordered online thanks to someone cool taking a picture of their menu and posting it. The place is typical of a neighborhood pizza joint. Old, little league sponsorship pictures on the wall, typical Italian fast food options, sports on an old TV. The joint was jumping with lots of pizza orders, mostly takeout. Dudes in matching t-​shirts making pies with hand stretched dough, bagged cheese and your normal toppings. No gluten-​free, organic, paleo, blue-​corn, artisan, European, bull-​crap. Good old fashioned pizza.
I ordered a medium and it was really large. The problem with new pizza joints is understanding the sizes. How big is a large? No problem… I now have leftovers.
Hey, Mickey, how was the pizza? Very good, thanks. Crust is thick but not deep dish. Lots of decent quality cheese, sauce is not too sweet, decent amount of toppings. Cooked perfectly without a conveyor belt and no wood. Just an old gas oven. Just a very good neighborhood pizza. On par with Nonna Lucci’s and Pizza D’Oro.

Me and my spouse discovered this place somewhat recently. We are OBSESSED! Joey’s is truly the best pizza spot in FV/​HB area. We always get mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, and garlic. The wings are also amazing as well as their ranch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I live in fountain Valley and they won’t deliver to me. I’m 5 miles away.
Maybe just font advertise that you deliver at all if you’re going to be like that about it. I’ve eaten there before and was craving it, but if they don’t want my money then I’m OK not giving them another cent.

I love Joey’s Pizza. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, when it was still Luparello’s Pizza.
Excellent pizza and the best customer service.

The crust is good. I didn’t like the sauce, cheese or toppings. Wings were undercooked and not that good. #5 Sandwich was really good. Overpriced as well. Pizza and breadsticks from Round Table wings from Lamppost is the perfect combo.

We came home after 7pm to no dinner and decided to order a pizza to be delivered. We normally get Round Table Pizza but they don’t deliver to our area. The medium pizza we ordered was the «works» pizza and it was the skimpiest of toppings I have ever seen on a pizza.
tiny little pieces of sausage here and there maybe 2 pieces of peperoni per large slice, super thin shreds of bell pepper and very light on the cheese. The crust was over done and for 24.00
the ingredients in the pizza could not have cost 1.50. The young man who delivered was very nice and I tipped him well but the pizza was the worst I have ever had…

Have been eating here for over 10 years.
It is delicious pizza for a great price.
Delivery takes some time but worth the wait.

I ordered a pizza for take out last week. I ordered 1 Large with extra cheese, jalapeños, and mushrooms. The pizza was done on time, as quoted by the gentleman over the phone. I got there and the man began the charge process. As he was about to enter the final amount, I asked him to please add a 2 litre soda to my bill. The total for 1 Large pizza 3 topping + and a 2 litre soda came out to a little above $ 26.50. I thought that was a little steep but I said to myself «you gotta pay for quality». I brought the pizza home and immediately opened the box and began to eat! The pizza was good but not luperellos style that I love. I noticed the toppings weren’t at the level they were supposed to be. Only topping which was on point, quantity wise, was the double cheese. Mushrooms were almost non existent and the jalapeños were a little low as well. I wasn’t satisfied especially for the price for the 1 Large.
My family and I have always preferred and rushed to Luperellos for pizza, we have been for over 10 years, when it was an option for us to order. We have always said their quality, pizza temperature and toppings were always on point. But this time… I dunno. I’m gonna write off my last experience as a late night order and hope to give luperellos another try.

1 star off for the lack of toppings (mushrooms were non-​existent and jalapeños were a little on the low side)

Found this place by a recommendation from another Unilocaler on a different pizza page thought i would give it a try. I ordered 2 lunch specials for my co worker and myself. They had my food delivered within 35 minutes to my job even though they said it would be an hour. The food was good. The salad was fresh and the pizza slices were big. Their prices are reasonable. We will definitely be ordering from them again.

You can go to this place and get just a slice or a whole pizza, whatever u want. I chose a slice and got onions, peppers and pepperoni. What was so good about was yes it was flavorful, but it was also crispy but not to crispy. It was definitely awesome and will go back

starving and feeling lazzzzy. so asked for delivery. Very prompt, and hot!
I was asked if I had a coupon, said I Do Not… but I will google it! will that work?
He said yes, I Did! and saved 4.00:)

Like other reviewers stated… this place is perfectly good! The correct amount of crust to cheese to sauce ratio is on point. The crust is chewy and thr pepperoni is perfectly spiced and crisped. Customer service was great. No complaints not even 1. The show stealer though was their ranch dressing with the chewy, cheesy goddess of pizza. OH MY GOODNESS… the best homemade ranch I’ve probably ever tasted! Ordered pizza for lunch yesterday and I’m currently eating a size for breakfast but I’m out of ranch and sorely disappointed I didn’t ask for a 20oz jar of it. This pizza joint was great. I’ll definitely be back.
Fyi, delivery ordered must be a minimum of $ 15.

This pains me to do this because I always love their pizza. However, their service tonight was terrible!
Ordered a pizza around 6pm and I was told it’d be 1 ½ hours. I get it, it’s a Saturday around dinner time so they are busy.
8pm rolls around and pizza still hasn’t shown up and haven’t received a phone call. Call them and it’s busy. Call them again and someone picks up but then hangs up. Call again and it just rings. I call about ever 5 — 10 minutes until about 8:30pm and all it does is ring.
I drive down there and they are closed. Lights are off and it looks like they’ve been closed for a while.
I can’t believe this. I’ve been going to Joey’s for years and this is just terrible. Like I said, their pizza is great but the service tonight was just crap.
I don’t know if there was an emergency or what but a call would have been nice.

Delicious chicken wings, and pizza! I can’t believe it’s my first time eating at Joeys! It’s so good! The garlic bread is decent, but seriously recommend any pizza and the chicken wings!!! We ordered the mushroom and black olive!

Was shopping in the area and saw a billboard pizza by the slice so I had to try it and it was really good and freaking HOT!!!
So I decided to order a large cheese pizza it was so freaking hot I couldn’t even hold the box the cheese was gooey & the sauce was tasty the crust which is my favorite was good but it was on the toasty side a little more than I care for I like mine a little more softer but that didn’t stop me from sinking my teeth into this cheese slice i enjoyed it and loved the taste bite per bite I would definitely come back here if I was in the neighborhood but I would make a special request for the pizza not to be over cooked cause I would love to taste it not overdone. It would be good if they offered a pick up special hey you never know

How have lived over 20 years in this area and only just now discovering the yumminess this place has to offer? Joey’s is amazing! Pizza is fresh and delicious every time! Pasta is good and the chicken wings… yum! The employees are friendly and fun! Great place!

I’m from NY and I’ve been dying to find something comparable to my beloved NYC pizza. As soon as I walked into this place the smell of freshly baked pizza brought back awesome memories.
The people complaining about ‘burnt’ pizza are used to gummy Pizzahut grossness. A legit pizza needs to be crispy outside and have the perfect amount of chew in the middle.
Everyone here is a babe! I’d go as far as to say they’re the babeliest babes in all the land haha. The associates are very polite and work efficiently. The only negative I can find about this place is that they only do big custom pizzas on Sunday, you can’t do smaller pies.
