I like that is is fast service drive thru like mcdonalds. They sandwich is like an asian version of Jimmy johns. It is cold and not warm like other banh mi. I think Houston has better banh mi. But it is a quick place to grab om way to Disneyland and airports. I would rather pay $ 3.50 rather than theme park or airport food. I usually get the turkey croissant for the kids and it is huge. Comes with a pickle and banana pepper. Their banh mi is not truly authentic since the bread is not crispy and their mayo is american style not egg based like true Vietnamese. My main reason for banh mi is the pâté and bo(Vietnamese mayo). So yes, this place is more for Americans taste

This is on my way to work so I’ve stopped by a few times. I usually go to the one in garden grove Blvd and harbor. One of the times I asked for easy ice on my coffee and they still filled it up with 75% ice! Today I went and asked for a sandwich and to drink I asked for hot water. The manager, I believe gave me the water and I asked him if he had any lids(I was going to drive so I didn’t want to spill hot water on me or my car) and he said HEDIDN’T HAVEANYWHEN I WASLOOKINGRIGHTATTHEM!!! How rude! If his cheap ass didn’t want to give to me, he could have said how much he was going to charge me for that price of plastic. I had no problem buying it. I ended throwing away the cup bc once again I did not want HOT water on me or my car. I’d rather drive a little more for better service bc this place sucks.

BBQ park sandwich was large. Meat was juicy and veggies were fresh. This sandwich is large enough for two thin people. I paired my sandwich with a mango smoothie which actually tasted like mango. A quick and affordable lunch spot.

Usually stop by for a sandwich and coffee. Every once in a while something goes wrong but usually they are great. Today however, they literally sold me a loaf of bread with cilantro and carrots lol. I called to ask if I could go in and show them the sandwich to prove I wasn’t lying… And they’re response was. «We can’t give you more chicken» LOL. Ok coolS great customer service

Was happy about buying my combination sandwich here… Until I ate it, it was cold… To make it worse, I found a torn off piece of rubber latex glove in my sandwich… Right when I saw that, I threw it away immediately. I thought the bread was fresh and amazing. The guy behind the counter was very nice and helpful when I told him I wanted to try a different sandwich than the usual BBQ pork or chicken I normally get. I tried the special combination and loved the flavor of the sandwich with extra jalapeño peppers. Do try!

I love their French baguettes which are served fresh every 30 minutes and which cost only $ 1… I have been lucky enough to purchase them straight out of the oven and have taken them home to make sandwiches and to gnosh on. They are a guilty pleasure which I can afford to indulge in. I also have bought several of their baguettes for office gatherings along with some cheese(They only have Laughing Cow Swiss Cheese and ideally they should have more options but…) and, some butter(a white plastic bowl of little pats of butter) and all of my co-workers raved about the fresh bread… Think of this for your next potluck. I have also purchased the coconut waffles here. They are not a hot breakfast food. No, they are served at room temperature and are fresh sealed in plastic wrap. Initially I was confused by their green color(which comes from a leaf popular in Vietnam) and did not know if I would enjoy them. I found them to be a little dense in texture because of the coconut but delightful. have enjoyed eating them. I purchased one for a co-worker as a reward and she loved it so If you like coconut, you may want to give them a try. Lees also offers sandwiches and coffees and smoothies which I have seen others enjoy.

There was a time a few decades ago where Lee’s Sandwiches was synonymous with quality in a efficiently hip locations, albeit you paid more than your neighborhood banh mi places next door that were a bit dirtier. This was especially true in bigger Lee’s stores in the surrounding OC of this location. But since then, Lee’s sandwich has suffered from the fast food effect all chains that get to big suffer from(your McD’s, Jack-in-the-Box’s, etc.) This is most evident at this fountain valley location. The shop is small and dinky, with the furnishings suggesting(and sometimes staff) wanting you to get out of there ASAP. Understandable considering the type of foods Lee’s sells, but they don’t back this up with quality. The sandwich I bought had stale bread surrounding unevenly distributed meats and pickled veggies. In summary, this location is a fine example of trying to standardize the a brand name in a chain restaurant, but the location only meeting the bare minimum. Extra star for having the coffee highly stocked.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – ESSENTIALTIPS&EXECUTIVESUMMARY: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – # Lee’s is always a great go-to place when there”s a need to feed a passenger you’re taking straight to John Wayne airport. I’ll give in a little, it’s a great go-to place in general even when you’re not driving a friend to the airport. # I’d be surprised if you’re new to Lee’s since they have franchise stores everywhere, but if you are, stick with the classic banh mi(sandwiches) flavors such as BBQ pork, chicken, and beef. If you had only had one choice, go with BBQ pork. # Their Vietnamese coffee is decent too. So if you’re a first-timer, I recommend that you walk out with a BBQ pork banh mi and a Vietnamese coffee. There’s your meal. # They require you to spend $ 10 minimum if you want to use credit card. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – MYEXPERIENCE: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Mr. Lee can do no wrong. All of his shops, franchise or corporate, are the Vietnamese McDonald’s for the Vietnamese people and Vietnamese food fans. When you need it, it’s there. People hate on McDonald’s and say the food should be better and likewise, people will say«well this is not the best Vietnamese food that money can buy». Hello?! Duh! But sometimes we need food that’s uniformly consistent and cheap just like the GMO tomatoes we buy. Because if we don’t, we ain’t American. Whereas McDonald’s established uniformity for American fast food, Lee’s Sandwiches has established the precedent for Vietnamese fast food and let me tell ya, banh mi is the true Vietnamese fast food and you can get a McCafe… I mean Vietnamese iced coffee with it. But they have a credit card minimum, you say, and McDonald’s doesn’t! Well, I did say this was a Vietnamese McDonald’s and it follows the Uniform Asian Code of Doing Business, No Cards or Card Minimums! Also, for the first-timer who will fall in love with banh mis… don’t forget to check out other local banh mi shops like Banh Mi Che Cali around the area. I like their banh mis more, but sometimes as I said — you want uniform consistency when you’re on the go. No joke, a major reason why McDonald’s exploded decades ago was because road trippers going across the country needed food they recognized with a familiar taste they were comfortable with even if it wasn’t the greatest burger. The banh mi is not the best in the world, but Mr. Lee truly carved a major path in Vietnamese fast food franchising. My Unilocal review and history lesson are complete. Adieu.

Great Lee’s location. Service is fine, food comes out quickly, not busy here at all. Love that they open early, breakfast is my favorite time to eat a sandwich and the bbq pork bahn mi hit the spot here. Next time I’ll ask for extra veggies, they were pretty skimpy on that. Still, $ 4 for a huge sandwich, can’ really go wrong with that. The bread is great, always take a baguette to go, can’t beat the price!

Excellent Vietnamese sandwiches! As always, Lee’s banh mi has fresh and crunchy baguettes loaded with choice of meats, pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro, and jalapeños. For $ 2.99 a piece you might as well get multiple to-go! My choices are the grilled pork and bbq pork. I have yet to try their other menu items but this location has excellent and friendly service. note: there’s a 50 cent charge for card transactions

This is probably the dirtiest Lee’s Sandwiches I’ve ever been to. If it wasn’t so close to my house, I would never come here. The only thing I like about this particular location, is the drive thru. The inside is filthy. There is always left over food from customers that don’t know how to clean up after themselves, the floors are disgusting, there’s always flies inside and near the food. The cashiers always have attitude and act like they don’t want to be there. Seriously, it’s rude to chew gum like a cow and take people’s orders! So unprofessional. This morning I picked up a sandwich and the bread was SUPER chewy, the pickled veggies weren’t fresh at all and had a funky taste. Guess I’ll be ordering just coffee from now on. I feel bad for the original owners of Lee’s Sandwiches(which my family knows personally). This location is giving them a bad reputation. Come on people! Get your sh*t together!

Very organized service here. Sandwiches: I would not recommend the sandwiches if you are vegetarian because the two vegetarian options(croissant and baguette sandwich) are not that good. The croissant sandwich has about 900 calories because it is stuffed with cheese and avocado. The baguette sandwich has fried onions in it and just tastes disappointing. Baguettes: THIS is why we come to Lee’s. The baguette are fresh, hot, warm, and cheap and delicious. I always stock up on 5 here. They are a dollar each. Baked treats I recommend: The banana delights are fried bananas wrapped in dough. I highly recommend it. Not too sweet, but rich. The croissants: delicious and rich Coconut waffles: sweet and soft «Mini French donuts»: I am not sure what these are called but they are yummy.

Because there are so many vietnamese sandwiches offered in Santa Ana and where im from, i dont tend to order it. I only Get banh mi at a place by my house so when i go to lees is for their vietnamese coffee or panda waffles or the corn cakes with custard. Only Some Lees offer it so u have to do a little research. Usually the lees that have their own store front will. For those who do come here for the banh mi i will say they are pretty decent the only problem is that the bread can be hard and cut the roof of your mouth. But overall the meat and veggies are good. I prefer the bbq and combination.

Wow the Vietnamese-French inspired sandwitch is awesome. I love the taste of the bread and the price is excellent. They offer a large variety of food and drinks to enjoy. The parking was limited and they were a bit slow but worth the wait. You can’t beat the price of their yummy sandwiches! $ 2.49 for a 10″ sub… Wow best deal around and healthy choices too. I highly recommend it and also their Coffee is very popular– cold and hot. Great prices.
