Well, since the last time I was here… service has drastically changed! We were a party of three and it took way too long to be acknowledged and seated, when it was empty. Once we were seated, our waitress was very kind and professional. The other employees can benefit from her interpersonal skills. Everyone else seemed bored out of their mind! The food was mediocre. I was shocked, because from all of my previous experiences from dining here and ordering take out; I’ve always been extremely satisfied. Not anymore!

I used to go here back in high school. Feeling a bit nostalgic, I decided to go back for old time’s sake. We ordered a nice dinner to-go on Friday night. PSA: They charge $ 8.95 for chicken, on top of the $ 14.95 for a large alfredo. Got home, settled in, and started digging into a pretty good feast… that is until my girlfriend found a hair entangled in a piece of chicken. I immediately called them back and the hostess/server who helped me out was very polite and apologetic. She asked me to bring back the tainted entrée and they’d prep me a new one in 15 minutes. Picked up my new chicken alfredo and drove back home to finish the rest of the meal, which had gone cold in the time it took me to drive to Nick’s and back. Could’ve been a good meal, but this incident marred our experience.

~ Mainly for the Lunch Buffet ~ The food that is dished out during the lunch buffet at Nick’s is not the greatest, but the value is undeniable. It is $ 7.95 for AYCE, Mon-Fri from 11 – 2. I came at the tail end of the buffet, which may explain why the pizza was less than satisfactory. I was given a fresh salad, and all the spaghetti, meatballs, veggies, potatoes, and lemon roasted chicken that my heart desired. The lemon roasted chicken was actually pretty decent, as were the meatballs. I looked at the other prices and they seemed similarly reasonable, plus they have Happy Hour specials. We even got free drinks for checking in! Yay. My boyfriend got the giant slice of pizza, and they don’t mess around… that thing was wider and longer than my face. Aside from the size, it was nothing special. It did taste good, but most pizza will if it’s fresh and hot. Take note boys, size does not matter, even if the big ones look good in pictures! Not the kind of meal I’d go out of my way for, but it’s easy on the wallet and will leave you stuffed full of hearty Italian carbs. Food: 3, Service: 3, Environment: 3, Price: 5

My family and I have been coming here for years. I’ll be honest: the food is literally just OK. We come here for the quaint and cozy vibe. It’s very accomadtating towards bigger groups 4+. They have a family dinner special that includes a pizza, lasagna/spaghetti, salad, garlic bread. This meal is great and can literally feed our whole family of 5: all adults. Prices are extremely reasonable for wine and tasty apps. Come give this place a shot and have some spumoni for me while you’re at it. –Mikey P

I’m not sure if I want to remember this place. My boyfriend decided on this place for pizza based off of Unilocal reviews, which has never steered us in the wrong direction until today. I walked into the place and remembering it from high school and thought that I had eaten there before. As it turns out, I had and I remember why I forgot I had eaten there the first time. First off, let me say that service here is great. That’s pretty much it for this place. We came in and we were promptly seated by a server, who also gave us some complimentary bread sticks. Then we were given some time to look over the menu before we decided on a pizza with meatballs, mushrooms and artichokes and also a pasta with their«creamy cabernera»(that’s how they spelled it on my receipt). When the food came to the table, I knew something was a little off. The creamy carbonara looked anything but that. I gave it a chance anyway despite being completely thrown off by the sauce that looked to be separating as I ate it. It was a reasonable portion, but I only managed to eat half — barely. The sauce barely covered the amount of pasta on the plate. The chicken and sausage seemed like it was frozen then thawed multiple times. It tasted like dry blocks of something other than meat. Who knows. So I decided to give the pizza a try. We had ordered a medium. The meatballs we had ordered turned out to be slices of meatball. I’m not sure about you but meatballs shouldn’t come in slices… I managed two or three bites of the pizza before giving up. My boyfriend ate 1 and ½ slices before giving up too. None of the ingredients used looked fresh at all. I think the best thing I had there was their ranch and coke which tasted like how it should have. I’m sure we won’t be returning anytime soon although the service was great. They were truly friendly people but the food is lacking.

Mm. Yeah. They do pizza good here. The crust is the right thickness and crunches just right. The décor is hella outdated though. Wasn’t sure what sauce to get with the pizza, so we asked to try the garlic sauce. Turns out it’s basically olive oil, garlic, and oregano. Better as a dip, really. Got a large pizza with Alfredo sauce, chicken, and artichoke. Good for three people with big appetites, or four people who aren’t good at eating. :’^) This would be a five star review IF we had known that the Alfredo sauce and chicken were extra. When we got the bill, it was like $ 7 more than we expected. We asked the waitress why they were extra when they’re listed under the toppings options for the pizza with no additional price indication, and she said that it did say so on the menu. We weren’t bothered to take another look at the menu or argue with the waitress, so we accepted our fate. At the end of the day, it was still some dank pizza.

Props for the top notch solid customer service. These guys are at their A-game. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was OK. I tried their meat lasagna, antipasto salad, and garlic bread. I liked the lasagna the best, but I think the location in HB is slightly better. It was heavy on the sauce, cooked just right, and the meat was tasty with a little bit of spice. The antipasto salad was alright, it didn’t really give me that«WOW, this is good!» reaction, but it was decent. I think for their prices, it’s a pretty good value. Not the best Italian food you’ll ever eat, but not bad either. It’s not one of those places that you should drive 20 miles out of your way to try in my opinion, but if you’re living or working locally, give it a shot.

I’m adding my review based on the ONLY thing I ever eat here… the carbonara, it is THEBEST! You can get lasagna and spaghetti at any Italian restaurant but you CANNOT get carbonara like this anywhere but Nick’s Pizza D’Oro, it’s loaded with sausage, chicken and veggies, its rich and cheesy and its plenty enough for two people!

The food was ooookay, but service was really good. The pizza was pretty good bc I like thin, crispy crusts. The spaghetti was meh and the garlic bread didn’t have enough flavor to compensate for so much bread! The chicken wings were good, and so was the pastrami sandwich. The guy at the front was really friendly and our server overheard that my bf’s dog needed some water and she offered those tin to go things to bring her some water. I wanted to try their gnocchi with mushroom sauce, but since it was such a big group, they ordered the family meal or whatever it’s called. Would come back to try the gnocchi if ever in the area again.

The wait staff was excellent! Carly was quick to answer my inquiries. This has the hallmarks of a neighborhood mom and pop pizza joint. I got a½ large slice of pepperoni pizza. It was very big. 14 inches long. Glad I didn’t get the full large. The Carly apologized for not getting the cheese for the tip. As for the pizza itself, it’s good. I’d hate to judge on one slice. But there was some nice combo of cheese on it, but sadly it was a bit sporadically clumped. Has great potential. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.
