I would like to thank the ladies at Chapel on Echo Bay for making my daughters wedding a great success. The Church setting is just gorgeous. We received many compliments, I will always cherish the memory of walking my daughter down the aisle at Chapel on Echo Bay.

My husband and I got married at this little Chapel in 2010. Our wedding went well and the venue is very quaint. It is right on the water in a quiet little bay not far from Tacoma, and on a sunny day, the Chapel is a pretty location. A bit out of the way for our Seattle and Portland friends, but we chose it since it is in between the two. I noticed the bad review below, and thought I’d comment that the staff in 2010 was great, and don’t know what Jaime is talking about. The hostesses, Diana and Georgia, were sweet and helpful, and if our day turned out well, it was due to them being there. And the manager, Debra, was so helpful in getting our day planned. She helped us find the perfect caterer and florist and had ideas about music and other vendors. I contacted her constantly, and she always responded quickly, even outside of their hours. But even with that, the hours were very limited, and am not sure how they can keep on being in business with such limited times that they’re open. They did change the amount of times that they’re open during my planning stage, and Jaime is right, it made it more difficult. It seemed that they had no choice, since the economy was not going great? The manager let me know in advance, though, so it just made me have to plan more carefully when I could contact her. Not really sure. I was told this location is really run by a group of volunteers. I got the feeling that it struggles with being a volunteer organization that is also a business, and think that honestly, it should just be one or the other They also have too many rules that they insist the clients follow, I guess because it is such an old building. But on your wedding day, you do want to be able to have a great time without feeling like you’re breaking rules. I gave this location only 3 stars. As I said, it was a pretty chapel, and the staff was great. But because of all of the hassle that the board of directors gives regarding their many rules of usage, and because they are only open a few hours, it really made it difficult for us to plan very easily. If they had more money from rentals, I guess it could be open more – guess that is a vicious circle. I do appreciate that everyone helped make my day great, but if we had it to do over again, I think my husband and I would chose another venue, one that is less restrictive and that is for sure cheaper!

In September of 2012, I had my wedding at this chapel. The Chapel on Echo Bay and it’s staff were hospitable, helpful, friendly and absolutely lovely. Right before my ceremony was scheduled, the Chapel has undergone new management. I don’t have much experience with the old manager, but the new one, Sara Kellerman, was a doll. Whever we had questions regarding dimensions of the downstairs where the reception was held, the staff was very timely in their responses and helped out any way they could. On the day of, Sara was there to make sure things ran smoothly, so she was sort of like a day of coordinator. If I was to get married again(which I probably won’t because I’m happily married), I would definitely do so at this location. I absolutely loved the church with the amazing waterfront view. The wall behind the alter where you stand and get married is actually all windows, so it makes fantastic photos! My wedding photos are amzing to look at, and a lot of that has to do with the setting.

The Chapel on Echo bay in a Fairy Tale type setting. I attended my friends wedding back in 2003 there & fell head over heals. I set out to find a wife ;) and called the chapel up this last September after finding the Bride who I also fell head over heals for. I told the Wifey I have the perfect place in mind, HOPING she’s go for it. YAY she loved it as much as I did even MORE! We met with Sara the Manager and she did everything she could to make us feel welcome, worked with our budget, timing of the wedding day and everything. Things went so well on the day of, and Sara was always there to assist. The Wedding day was wonderful and we had so much fun. I looked at the Thorne Castle & every other venue from Bellingham to Olympia and by Far The Chapel is the best quaint little white chapel wedding, the perfect distance from Tacoma only 20minutes out. Nestled next to Echo bay, getting married in the white chapel was my dream made reality and with water in the background even made the dream better. The whole Family LOVED it, We loved it & I want the whole world to know this little Chapel is the NW best kept secret. until now :).

Wedding Venue, Marriage, Chapel I don’t think this place is closed… But I have to say, after the initial charming introduction, this venue did nothing but make my wedding more stressful. First they changed their whole time/pricing structure after we’d signed a contract… which is shady at best, and secondly, the manager would cancel appointments when she decided she wanted different days off. Horrible experience. Super cute place, but brides, save yourself some stress and go someplace else.
