Sushi was pretty good. Veggie tempura left a lot to be desired. Tiny dish of tempura dipping sauce ran out well before the heavily battered veggies did. Décor is just ok.

This place is great. All you can eat sushi for $ 20, you honestly can’t go wrong. But be warned! If you order a lot and don’t finish, you’ll be charged $ 1 per piece you can’t finish. The service is great, the food is good and it’s a decent, quick sushi place. It’s not at all«high end» nor is the décor great(it’s very dark and they have all the windows covered up) but it’s definitely a good sushi place for the price.

The all-you-can-eat is an amazing deal. Our family lives 40 minutes away and we periodically go visit Asian Ginger for their delicious and affordable food. The owner is always friendly and I could see that he cares about his customers. For sushi connoisseurs, this place may not have the best sushi but it is decent. We always stuff ourselves so full because we want to try everything. I will continue to go and would recommend this restaurant to friends.

The $ 23 all you can eat on Friday and weekend is SOOOO worth it. Excellent Sushi! Fresh made every dish.. Not getting a 5 only because it’s a little slow.

I love this place. Unlimited sushi has a place in my heart. As I am writing my review right now and I am wishing I was on my way to this place for the all you can eat deal. I have been here three times and the most recent the server was a bit… stalking. She kinda was a control freak and wanted the table clean which was kinda of annoying because I just wanted to enjoy my sushi! Oh well. I did enjoy my sushi anyways. The all you can eat also has spring rolls, soups, salads, and dumplings but I usually have my fill on sushi. I usually like the angel roll the best but I got the fantastic this time and really enjoyed it. Also my friends got the sunset which is fried and has cream cheese in it. JUSTGOHERE! $ 20FORALLYOUCANEAT!

Have been 2x now, and strapping on the feedbag is the main attraction. I feel I’m being a bit overly generous at 4 stars, but 3 probably leaves them short. Kudos for having a decent selection. While there are numerous rolls, many are only slight variations of others. The presentation does not have the delicate artistic touch of a top notch sushi place such as Oga’s or Oishii, but they do try to at least plate in an attractive manner. Some of the sushi was very good, enjoyed the Rainbow Roll, while others were very disappointing, such as the Spider Maki that I had been looking forward to. The apps were just OK at best, tempura heavily battered but at least it was crispy and not soggy. Shumai and pan fried dumplings were bland and uninteresting. Note: do not over order, and why would you if you can just order more if you need to. You will be charged for any leftover pieces on your plate, which is actually a good move to help prevent waste. 3 stars for quality 4 stars for value and service.

So what’s to say, casual dining. We had the all-you-can-eat sushi, it was nice and fresh, not the biggest pieces that you ever saw, but tasty and nicely presented. Friendly staff and we didn’t feel rushed at all and we took our time. Would definitely recommend for a family night out. What surprised me more than anything was the fact that you have access to the entire menu, all the special rolls and hand rolls as well on the all you can eat menu. For $ 20 a person you cannot beat it.

I’ve been here multiple times and have never had a complaint pertaining to service, quality, or price. For ~$ 20 you will be more than filled up and the special sushi roles are fantastic(check picture). You get to choose unlimited apps, soups, salads, and sushi for the«all you can eat» deal. The place is small, so if you’re going out with a larger party(4+) I would avoid busy times on popular nights. Overall, no complaints; good food for a good price and have been back multiple times.

I’ve been here the past two years for my birthday and really enjoy it. The 20 $ all you can eat sushi is such a great deal! The place is small inside but don’t judge it by its appearance! I’ve only ever had the sushi but others I have been with have had the other food and really enjoyed it! Throughout the past couple months I have become even more adventurous when it comes to trying sushi and I haven’t been since August. I absolutely need to come soon so I can try new rolls! *make sure that when you order, your eyes are not bigger than your stomach!!* anything you don’t finish, they charge you extra for. It’s understandable, and not a problem but just know that ahead of time. I usually start off with 2 rolls and if I’m still hungry I will order one roll at a time.

My boyfriend and I arrived just on time for the all-you-can-eat-sushi to start. When we walked in, one of the employees who was working the front desk was talking on his phone. I don’t think it was a customer but I didn’t care because we still got seats. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time(awkward, because it was so quiet and all eyes are kind of on you). Our waitress came over quickly and ask what we wanted to drink. I didn’t know how an all-you-can-eat worked, so I asked her how things worked and she was able to answer my questions. When we ordered, the first thing to come out was my soup(rather quickly) and later my boyfriend’s scallion pancake. After we were done with our appetizers, it didn’t take too long for our sushi to come out. That’s when people started to come in. It first started with a pair, then another, then a group. The place got full rather quickly.(I would say this is around 5:30 pm — 6:00 pm). My boyfriend and I were done after round 2(sadly) so we didn’t stay long enough to experience the long wait of our sushi arrival. Although, my waitress was quite busy and sort of took longer to get back to us. I can’t say anything about the quality of sushi. Of course it didn’t get me a, «WOW! This is a whole new world!!» kind of factor, but it was delicious and very satisfying.

Service is OK. The food quality is kinda average or say below the average a little bit. The rice is sour and hard. This can’t be a satisfied buffet. Yea, the price is reasonable though.

I came here with my sushi-loving wife, and my anti-sushi folks, so this review covers both the all-you-can-eat sushi and menu items. The restaurant is small – patrons definitely hit into each other if they aren’t careful. My dad was well advised to make reservations in the evenings(they aren’t necessary in the afternoon). I was disappointed with the server; even after having the word O’Doul’s pointed out to him(because he was insisting we were ordering a soda), rather than write down what we requested to look into, he brought us a virgin strawberry daiquiri. When we sent it back, I heard the bartender telling him we were right. If he’d just written down our order… most of the service was him hovering or neglecting us. The only reason I can’t give Asian Ginger a full 5 stars is due to timing. The soups(understandably) came out first. Then the luncheon specials, then my scallion pancakes. The first rounds of sushi for my wife and I came out about 20 minutes after everything else. My family was basically done with their meals by the time we ordered our second plates. I understand that sushi is the popular item and gets backed up during high-volume times; that means the kitchen needs to be lead by the sushi chefs to plan their items accordingly – it’s really not THAT hard to do for the first order. The food was excellent. Every bit of sushi was beautiful – thick cuts of sashimi(although the AYCE menu should have had a better means of denoting I wanted sashimi vs nigiri), fresh, interesting and diverse rolls, and more than enough filler appetizers. The lunch specials my dad & uncle ordered were amazing; proportionate amounts of rice/meal, fresh veggies, plenty of quality meat. My uncle said that his Orange Beef was the best he’d ever eaten(and he’s eaten PLENTY of orange beef, probably averaging once a week for about 30 years).

Second time going to Asian Ginger, it was another average Wednesday night and my party of five decided to go out for dinner. We ended up deciding on Asian Ginger. What’s not to love?: sushi, all you can eat, $ 20. Walked into Asian Ginger, it was packed. We were placed on the waiting list and were informed us that they do not know the waiting time. That should have been strike one. About an hour later, we were finally seated. We thought, we’re finally seated, this is going to be amazing. We placed our orders immediately. About 15 minutes later, we received our appetizers — they were ok. Roughly 40 minutes after receiving the appetizers, we were ravenous and received our food — only 2 people were served at a time(with ten minutes apart — it was awkward), so by the last person was served we submit in another order. It was average sushi at best. We waited another 50 minutes when we were served our second round. We needed to eat though. This was all you could eat sushi and we were not quitters. We didn’t finish but we all knew we didn’t eat that much. Yet, somehow, we all felt sick to our stomaches — two of which threw up when they got home and it did not come up easy. Btw, if you were trying to do the math, yes, this dinner took us roughly three hours. Thank you Asian Ginger, for providing us with the worst dining experience we’ve ever had: long wait time, terrible service, and awful sushi that made 40% of your customers vomit. Needless to say, never ever going back again.

It has been so long since I’ve written a confident 5-star review on any restaurant and I think Asian Ginger takes home the gold. First of all, I am incredibly picky when it comes to sushi, hate buffets with a passion(just from overeating at so many cheap, Asian buffets with subpar food selection) and with all of these factors weighing over my shoulders, I gathered a group of friends with me to test out this establishment. Fortunately, I was given fair warning on how crowded this place may be during the evening, and even though it was a terribly rainy, cold early Wednesday evening, I called in advance to book a reservation for 6 – 7 people in which the restaurant eagerly obliged. The menu may be a bit confusing initially, but it comes down to $ 20 pp on weekday nights, $ 23 pp on weekends. It’s all you can eat appetizer, nigiri/sashimi(10 max per round) and up to 6 rolls(normal and special rolls per round). The best part about this place is that the quality is actually not the typically buffet style, cold, freezer burnt, fishy thin slabs of protein I’ve come to expect, but expertly cut, generous portions of sashimi with excellent plating techniques on every order. It was not a go-n-get-it place, but rather an entry ticket to some of the better sushi options in RI. Of course, there are some belly filler appetizers such as gyozas, scallion pancakes, salad that you may choose to indulge, but the main spotlight shines upon the fish. I’ve had every piece of the sashimi, from yellowtail to salmon, tuna, squid, mackerel, white tuna and found them to be all quite delicious and reasonably fresh. The service did take a long time initially when the restaurant was bustling, but our order times were significantly reduced as the night went on. My friends absolutely loved the wonton soup, btw. The overall décor was… slightly less memorable, but we didn’t care cause the quality and quantity of our meal was extraordinary. Service was good and polite and we had to fight off the waiter who tried to fill up our water glasses every 10 minutes. Overall, this was a great experience and I strongly recommend everyone to come and try it out. Just don’t come when I go too =P Food: 4 stars Price: 5 stars Service: 3 – 4 stars Ambiance: 3 – 4 stars

Had dinner here last night for the first time and I absolutely loved the sushi here. It was all you can eat sushi but it’s made to order so you should only be ordering what you will be eating and are not allowed to share your sushi. If you leave any sushi pieces on your plate there is a dollar fee per sushi item. I think this is a great concept because often times we eat with our eyes and tend to over eat or waste. Loved the rolls and the fresh appetizers. We were lucky to walk in and get seated, there is usually a line I have heard. I will definitely visit again. Won’t give it a 5 because the staff didn’t explain the concept when we were seated. But I will be visiting soon.

Tonight is my first time at Asian Ginger and it will be my last. I was in a party of 4 and we had the all-you-can-eat sushi. Unlike other reviewers, our service was very good. Our waitress was attentive and our tea and water was constantly refilled. Our appetizers and sushi arrived quickly. The sushi on the other hand was awful. The sushi rice was not seasoned and the fish was not cold. One of my rolls was the Rainbow maki and the fish on top was room temperature. It was so bad I gagged and I wanted to throw up after eating a piece. I refused to finish the roll. Which brings me to the next topic. For a restaurant establishment there are a lot of «rules». Limits on how much you can order. No sharing. Plates must be empty before ordering another round. Additional fee if you have sushi left on the plate. With the«no sharing» rule — if you order a roll and you do not like it, you are basically forced to finish it. I really wanted to like this restaurant — it’s close to home and very reasonably priced but definitely not coming back. There are many other AYCE sushi buffets that are better out there.

let me just start by saying, there are minor things that can be improved. things such as English proficiency of staff, food & beverage selection, menu design, etc. allow me to elaborate. #1: typical of many asian restaurants, English proficiency is almost always an issue. i myself am an immigrant, and i’m very understanding of the struggle each and every one of them is going through. maybe they are taking classes, and language acquisition does require immersion and time, but it remains a fact when communication is deemed difficult, it will reflect poorly(at various degrees) on the establishment. and i’m making this statement from more than one encounter at this place, from sit-in dining to phone reservations. #2: last time i sat down and was asked if i wanted a beverage to start, i was trying to get a bottled green tea. i was told they could do hot green tea with ice(hindsight: maybe i should have). when my friend asked what beverages they have, the answer i heard was«soda». maybe they had iced tea and other things, but i really expected bottled green tea to be among the choices for a pan-asian restaurant featuring sushi. maybe they really had that too, then just see #1. #3: one time i went there with a small appetite when hub and friend were going for ayce — kudos to them for letting people have the option to do a la carte at the same table instead of enforcing the all or nothing rule like they’re afraid that you’d eat all their sushi. i was in the mood for a ramen(or any soup noodle), unfortunately and to my surprise, they didn’t have that(again, a pan-asian restaurant featuring sushi). i only remember seeing stir fry noodles; maybe they did have a soup offering of sort that i didn’t want, i just remembering being disappointed by what i saw(or did not see). #4: every time you try and order ayce rolls, it’s like doing the chore of cross-referencing your research paper. you see the name of that roll on the order sheet, you scroll down the whole section in the menu to find out what’s in it. or vice versa. AYCE should not be that much of a PITA. at least alphabetize your menu items or something. in addition, it’s not a surprise that they leave out certain special rolls from the ayce menu, that’s totally understandable and acceptable, but when i see a roll on the sheet and i can’t find the description anywhere on the menu, we’d have a problem. and we have had that problem. the first time i went to this place a year or so ago, i liked it and found the quality of sushi pretty decent(ask my friends, i don’t give my seal of approval out that easy). maybe my palette has changed slightly since then, maybe their quality has changed slightly since then. i mean, it’s still ok and all, but i wasn’t devouring it and yearning for more even though i really could eat more, bc after that one round, everything begins to taste the same. come to think of it, feels like half the rolls have spicy tuna filling and some fish on top LOL. anyway, maybe it was just an off day for both of us. but i mean, for $ 20, i’d totally come back another day with another empty stomach. lastly, while i appreciate the size of rice being kept quite small on the nigiri, i found the 8-pc roll size being excessive and discouraging. unless you have a few people at your table wanting the same things, otherwise you’re stuck with that roll whether you like it or not. even the appetizer portions are… regular portions, which are huge when you’re doing ayce and just want to have a sample of everything. something for the mgmt to consider.

I come here with my sister when we have a craving for sushi! It is all you can eat and Mon-Thurs it is only $ 20. We like to get the angel roll. I think they have a very good selection for the all you can eat. You can get not only sushi but all different types of little appetizers.

This place is a bit out of the way for us but we were around the neck of wood. A friend mentioned it being decent. We decided to give it a try. We waited over an hour for a table… though there were empty tables(held for reservations). Guess it is good for the people that made the reservation and boohoo for the ones that didn’t(us). I think the cost is about $ 22 – 24 for all you can eat sushi. The quality is decent. They offer a good selection of special rolls, sashimi and American Chinese items. The items come out fairly quickly. Service was decent. Seems like there are lots of regulars. The owner was making rounds — greeting customers at the tables.
