So after sticking it out here another year, management has changed several times but the staff had not changed with it. But then a new office manager came on to help. She eventually took over almost completely. While the former manager continues to make excuses and«pass the buck,» the new manager is proactive and goes above and beyond. She may be the only reason we are continuing to stay. The community is ever changing and it seems that though there are some bad apples(as in any community) the people here are mostly nice people. I will be honest, there are still things that big me, but over all it’s been a good year here.

I’ve lived here for 3 months and am so happy about my decision to move here. I decided to write a review after reading about some of the negative comments already posted. It feels like a lot of people who have issues are highly motivated to bash this complex, however, my experience has been much different. People here are quite pleasant. I have gotten to know many residents, mostly dog owners, by chatting out front. People are friendly yet without being clingy or cliquish. As for hearing noise from neighbors, the ONLY thing I hear is when someone upstairs sneezes. Yes the train is loud, however, I don’t even hear it anymore. Parking has not ever been an issue, and my schedule is erratic so I’m in/out all day and at night. The maintenance staff does one heck of a job! William is always painting something… Last week there was a guy literally washing the front doors of all the apartments on my floor! I live on 3rd floor and have yet to turn on my heat despite the frigid temps we’ve experienced thus far. The windows are well insulated and the heat must be rising from downstairs but it’s 70° in my house. Last month’s gas bill: $ 5.94! Alyssa in the management office has been friendly, warm, professional and incredibly responsive to me. There is a group of people, «The Complainers,» who don’t seem to be very nice to her but I’ve never met a property manager who’s so genuinely concerned with doing her best and responsive. My only concern is lack of security. I feel incredibly safe here, however, I worry about my car being stolen/vandalized. Alyssa had a public meeting to discuss security issues(I was away) and the very next day ALL parking lot lights were turned on from dusk to dawn. This is a major improvement, however, installing more cameras in public spaces or, preferably, having an overnight security guard on foot would be awesome. I’ve moved a lot in my life and can honestly say that I’m looking forward to staying put here for a while. The quality of units, amenities and great staff are a bargain for the price. I looked at lofts in Dorchester Lower Mills that didn’t come close to these apartments and for a lot more money. Commute can be a drag but with Rte. 9 only 5 min away you have everything you could possibly want in terms of shopping or restaurants. Unilocal reviews usually sound like they’re written by pissed-off people or friends & family. I am neither. Just someone who loves where he lives and wants to share his opinion.

I have lived here for 3 months now. I searched EXTENSIVELY for other apartments in the metro west area in June 2011 — this was by far the absolute best option. All other available apartments were smaller, had crappy finishings, and dreadfully small kitchens at a significantly higher cost. This building was remodeled as condos — so in addition to the gloriously high ceilings and beautiful exposed brick, you have real hardwood floors, granite countertops, lovely wood cabinets and stainless appliances. We moved in July 2011. The building and tenants are quiet and friendly. The management has been easily reachable and responsive to all of my needs. There was a flood in the basement after hurricane Irene, but it was handled well with a professional clean up. The maintenance personel is very professional and helpful. I could not be happier. I wanted to be within walking of the Framingham commuter rail station, but of course that comes with the noise of the train whistle, which is hardly noticeable once you get used to it. In response to other reviews, I have not noticed anyone not cleaning up after their pets, and the trash chutes have never been backed up. I am always able to find parking, and I don’t have to pay extra to park either! I think this place is great!

This place looks nice, but that is it. I have lived there less than a year and have had numberous problems. 1. Noise — The walls and floors are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on with your neighbors. It sounds like they are in the same room with you. You can hear tv’s, radios, dogs, talking, intimate moments. I sleep with earplugs and am often woken up in the night. 2. Management company — It is impossible to get a hold of anyone here. There have been at lease three separate people that worked in the office that were either fired or quit. Now most days there is nobody onsite and you have to call their sister property to talk to anyone. Also, a few months back my rent check was stolen and fraudulently cashed by one of the employees in the office. She was fired, and I haven’t had any problems since with my check. 3. — Pet owners — I will start this off with the fact that I do own a dog and a cat. I respect the rules of the community, but many others do not. Dogs are often off the leash in and out of the building and a lot of people don’t clean up after their pets. On a good note — the maintenance staff is excellent. He is the only person who is around on a consistent basis and goes out of his way to help out. Things are fixed quickly and correctly. This is by far the worst place that I have ever lived. I cannot wait to leave when my lease is up. For what I pay to live there I should not have to deal with these types of issues. I would think long and hard before you decide to live here if you are considering it.

We have lived here for almost three years, and i can’t wait to move out. The building used to be a factory that was converted into condos. The condos never sold, so they were opened up as rentals. We were the third unit to move in. The units are impressive with 12 – 16 foot ceilings, exposed bricks and wooden beams, large windows, large floor plans, new counters and cabinets and stainless steel applliances. The problem lies in the managment of the building. The first two years we were here, there was hardly anyone ever in the office. You had to call the owner to get things done. We moved from one unti into a smaller one, and for several months never had a new lease because no one was in the office to do anything about it. They were not prepared to handle this as a rental I dont think, and once it hit full capacity it was out of control. The trash chutes were constantly backed up adn the halls reek of trash, bugs everywhere and even getting into the apartments. One neighbor even threatened to call the health department. Their answer was to put glade plug ins in the halls, and give everyone fly strips to deal with the bugs. We found out that the owner was filing for bankruptcy and selling off the building, and a new managment took over. Things have gotten a bit better with the trash, but now it’s like a nazi régime. The took everyone’s outside floor mats without any warning and threw them out. I’ve asked repeatedly for mine back, which I paid $ 25 for. The installed cameras everywhere in the building which I thought was weird. I don’t see the purpose. The area is vergings on ghetto, there is not a lot of stuff near by to walk to. SMOC and WIC distribution is next door(which we didn’t know when we signed lease) and there are often sketchy people hanging out by the building. Last night we had a homeless guy park everything behind the dumpster and sleep there. The building is surronded by office buildings so during the weekdays it’s bombarded with their employees which makes parking a nightmare. We were told when we moved in that part of the garage was going to be sectioned off with secure passes to get in for the residents so we would always have parking. If you come home at the wrong time you will find yourself parking on the third floor of the garage and lugging everything down. The gym is small, cramped and very hot. You can not work out in there during the summer because there is no air, no ventiliation, and half the time the equipment is busted and not working. They finally just fixed the TV which had not worked in over a year. It’s very impressive when you walk in and see the units, but the building and the surronding area have been a nightmare and constant struggle since we moved in. The only reason we stayed so long, was because we will be buying a home soon and wanted to wait till then to move. Didn’t make sense to move to another apt building only to move again. Also, we were suckered into a another year lease. During the transition into the new managment, we didnt have a lease as previously mentioned, and we were told to sign one, even though we had an understanding with the previous owner that we could do a month to month. So now we are here until April. Also, the walls and ceilings are paper thin, so if you get a loud neighbor you are screwed for quiet.
