First off, I must compliment the server, a young man with spiky hair whose name I cannot recall(it’s been weeks since I went). Maybe something like Jacob? Anyway, he was terrific: efficient and personable. The place is beautiful with a great view of the water. The sushi was merely okay. Seemed flavorless. I got my go-to sashimi: maguro and hamachi. It was too cold and too firm. Even a little chemical-tasting. We used a groupon and had no troubles. I am not sure I will be back for sushi, but I will try the hot foods next time.

Order delivery: Was told delivery was 45 minutes(after all it’s a Wednesday). Took over 90 minutes to arrive. I received food at ~10pm as I was trying to go to sleep after a long day of travel. Food was decent, but service /expectations need some work.

Tried again, I got a Groupon and a friend gave me a gift card as a thank you gift. Nothing to lose right? Wrong! The food as ok although the portions were small. I had a shrimp dish, It had 5 large(not extra large) for $ 16.99! the Thai Ribs were good. The service was awful, like they are doing you a favor serving you. My companion had a non-alcoholic cocktail and they charge the same price as a regular. You always have to watch out for the overcharges. At the time of payment, they did not accepted the Groupon and the gift card saying that they were two discounts, I pointed out that the gift card it is like cash but they still refuse. Better choice is Lavenders in Sudbury they have excellent service.

Went there for the first time the other day. The ambience was really nice, definitely a nicer atmosphere than the old Chef Orient. The drink was delicious and the server was friendly. The sushi and Chinese food was decent, not the best that I have ever had but it was okay.

Ordered take out since it’s the closest sushi spot to where we live and I was starving. Got pretty basic rolls this time so we could feed our toddler also. It was fine and decent sized. Also ordered the spicy basil fried rice which isn’t spicy, at least to me and even the little one ate it. A little anxious to see how their sashimi quality is but maybe we will try it another day. Can’t say much about the service since we didn’t dine in. Did the job.

Place was okay I guess. Waitress just looked annoyed at us, not sure why. Maybe they didn’t like us using a Groupon? Anyways, we ordered a Sushi Love Boat. Fish quality was okay. Salmon didn’t quite taste right but the other fishes were okay. Would I come here again? Yeah probably with a Groupon and try other stuff outside of their sashimi.

I wish I can give them –5. It’s close to my house n i have taken take away may b twice. The food was good so I thought I should go there for lunch or dinner some time. And today got a chance to go for lunch. They offer buffet. As I am not a fan of buffet and also I have my reservations on eating chicken, and the buffet menu was full of chicken dishes, I decided to skip buffet and order from the menu. But my friend chose to have buffet. So we told the waitress about the our choices and I ordered the food. After taking the order she turned to me and with a very rude face told me that if I try to eat anything from the buffet menu. even a piece, she will charge me for the buffet. I am not making this up. She said this word by word. I was dumbstruck. I was at a loss of words. Later when I got a chance I told her about my reservations on eating chicken and that’s why I did not go for Buffet, I don’t have any other intention. She started explaining how people order 1 buffet and eat for 2. Point is not everyone is same. You cannot tell a customer what to eat what not to. Moreover I ordered my main course which was more costly than the buffet. If you have concerns about this, then either get rid of buffet or stop the la carte in the afternoon or come up with a polite way to let the customers know. She spoiled the Friday lunch. Even though the food was good but the behavior was intolerable. I am not going back to this place.

Ripped us off! Ordered the vegetarian combo sushi, and it came without the tamago or the inari that was listed in the menu and came with it last time. When we asked, she said it was chef’s choice what came in it and didn’t offer to give us anything to replace it, discount, etc. That was $ 8 worth of sushi to order a la carte, you can’t just leave food out and not make up for it. I had a picture from last time on my camera, and it was exactly the same except for the missing sushi. It was also really dark as they turned off some of the lights, even though there were still multiple groups eating. They also removed all the tablecloths and replaced with placemats and silverware, so there was a lot of clanging. Not a good experience. Also, the hot dishes on the menu are just so-so. Sauces are kind of gross, and the lo mein is soggy.

There are so many negative reviews here so I decided to write one because the food was really good and especially for the price. The reason I gave 4 stars was the service was NOT good. We had a little of everything, Fried calamari was from a bag but good and tasty sauce. Crab ragoun delicious. Sushi looked beautiful and very fresh. General Gau chicken for $ 10 was really fresh(white meat chicken and fresh broc) and sauce was light and tasty. Came with rice. Beef and broccoli delicious sauce and all fresh. Organic grilled chicken salad very fresh, beautiful and great alternative item. The service was not good period. Seated 25 mins late for reservation. Seated, order taken, never asked if we wanted any drinks from the bar(their loss) and no one ever came back after we got our food. The staff seemed to know little english and couldn’t answer simple questions. One person in our group had been here several times for the lunch buffet and said it was a great food and good value for the price. There was a large dance floor but no one was using it maybe it was too early.

This was my second time here today, I decided that I’ll write a review. The last time I was here with a friend, we had a very interesting dining experience. The area we sat, became a dance floor, kind of feels like a mini bar/nightclub. However, our waiter no longer took care of us and was nowhere to be found when we wanted to leave. We walked up to the bar to pay and experienced a very rude waitress trying to tell us we were in her way. Way to kill my experience that night. ** I was disappointed in the oysters that night, don’t waste your money ordering the oysters here. Because I really enjoyed the soft shell crab appetizer, I decided to come here on a weeknight for an early dinner. Btw, do try the soft shell crab appetizer when you visit! We also ordered gyoza, chicken basil fried rice, and a red dragon maki. The food was delicious, although the rice was a little dry(the way I liked it, not too oily). Overall, I would come back to this location even though I like Samba(rt 9 east) better. Did I mention that their drinks were a bit on the stronger side. Something I definitely enjoy on a weekend with a girlfriend.

I called to place a $ 400 + order. I asked to speak to someone about a large catering order. The person than answered the phone said«No» and hung up. Not only did they lose this order, I will never order from them after being treated like that. The management should be ashamed of their employees and upset at the business they lost as well as all of the potential business.

This is a surprise because the other samba on rt 9 is pretty good. This place shouldn’t even share the name. Order was simple. 1 hot sake. 1 hot and sour soup. 1 salmon roll. 1 tuna roll and 1 yellow tail roll. First sake, something wasn’t right, it’s tasted funny and when I mentioned something I was made to think that I was wrong. They gave me Another one and it was better must of been a dirty bottle or something. Now the soup, why did it taste like bbq sauce? When I mention something to the staff they thought I was joking. Then comes the sushi. No doubt about it that it was old. Not happy with my experience at all. Also the atmosphere is pretty crappy for dinner. I know the place turns into a club but that type of music and volume doesn’t work well for dinner. Again I have been to the other samba and it’s good. This place is far from it.

This place is so awful on so many levels. Samba West or Samba Steak & Sushi, pick your poison really. The food here is super greasy and if I wasn’t sitting in an actual restaurant I would assume it was your basic takeout Chinese food you would order at 2am to soak up the alcohol. I am pretty picky with meat but the meat here is inedible, its so slimy and chewy. Nothing tastes particularly fresh and is drenched in corn syrup to hide the mediocre quality. This is the kind of food where you feel slightly ill after due to the amount of oil and grease. To make matters worse its not exactly a bargain. The fact that this restaurant becomes a «club» is too much for me to handle. Maybe they should focus more on the food and less on trying to be the hot nightlife destination in Framingham!

We ordered out and got delivery. We ordered typical Chinese takeout fare — low mein, chicken fingers, spareribs, mu shi, chicken & broccoli. It arrived quickly and the portions were fairly large but it was very, very greasy Chinese food. I can’t say I would order it again as I’d prefer fresh veggies and meats over the canned veggies and slimy meats from this place. It would be good college, late night, post-frat-party fare… definitely not good for a family looking for good, yummy Chinese food takeout.

I did order via Unilocal and I was impress how quickly it got delivered! Very nice customer service from the restaurant as well. The food lacked flavor, the avocado salad was not what I expected… so much dressing. The fried rice was ok. I would try other things in the menu because the customer service was 5 stars !

in town visiting relatives. stopped at Samba west for quick dinner last night. the food was great. had pork strips and vegetable lo mein. loved that I could sub rice noodles for the lo mein noodles. it was delicious, so much so that we went back for dinner today. had the scallion pancakes and vegetable fried rice. yum!

Great food, semi strong drinks, and awesome club music on Fridays! This is our new club spot for Fri, esp since it’s so close to home. We get the st Germaine martini and spicy fried rice and salmon tempura roll and it’s always good! Service varies based on your server, though.

I went to this place on the recommendation of someone and honestly I didn’t have high standards but because it was the month of July they had a promotion going which meant that whatever I spent that night I would be getting back in a gift card and sure enough I got a gift card for $ 97.80 to spend on another occasion. Ambience: 10⁄10 absolutely insane. Right on the lake high ceilings, warm colors and CLEANNN! Service: 9⁄10 very attentive, lots of people coming to our table to fill drinks and before your meal they bring you a warm towel for your hands. What other restaurant do you know that does this? Menu and food: 10⁄10 they had a lovely and easy to read menu with good descriptions, prices were very reasonable. Typical Chinese food and in addition, Japanese sushi and some Korean even. Really impressed. Recommend the lobster with ginger and scallion, the duck, as well as the sushi boat. Everything was fresh and wonderful. They also have a dance floor on the other side towards the entrance. I didn’t partake in those festivities but I think I’ve found my new favorite Asian restaurant!

Some of their stuff is okay, some is not so good. Their presentation for sushi is nice, but I find the sushi mediocre. My family got a sushi boat once, and the fish was fresh but overall, sushi tasted mediocre. On another visit, I got the soft shell crab roll, and it was just ok. Too much sauce in my opinion. I wouldn’t come here without a Groupon. Their Samba Tuna Salad appetizer was actually delicious, and the renovations to the place are really nice. You can get a nice view of the lake by the window tables. I never had any issues with the service, and haven’t ordered anything from the bar so I cannot comment on that. Solely based on the food, I believe you can get better elsewhere for the same price. It’s not too bad if you’ve got a Groupon.

Giving this place 1 star is being really nice. This is my second time there. First time I had a few drinks at the bar which service was awful, took me half an hour because the bartenders were talking and socializing behind the bar while i kept waiting for service. So I had a groupon I had previously bought so I had to come back and spend it. BIGMISTAKE!!! If I could get my money back I would. One of my favorite restaurants in Framingham. I’ve only been here for lunch buffet. I particularly love their shrimp dish marinated with sweet sauce and fruits. They basically have almost all the typical/basic Chinese buffet dishes for the lunch buffet. Their wings and the fried cheese lagoons are crispy.

Ordering from Samba was an absolutely wonderful experience. I ordered the Pad Thai and Chicken fried rice with miso soup from for delivery. The food arrived exactly when I was told it would, despite the almost blizzard like conditions that developed outside. The whole meal was still warm and of excellent quality. In summation: samba provides quality food with excellent service.

The renovations are coming along and it looks open, clean and up to date. Lunch buffet is reasonable priced. The food is good and the people are friendly and helpful. I was hoping the buffet would be by the pound but it’s a flat rate of $ 8.95 so I opted for a takeout combo plate. I’ll need to come back once everything is completed.
