Roast beef was dry, French fries tasteless — have been going here for many years but things changed for the worse under new ownership/management. Kept punishing myself by going back saying things would get better — but, alas, NOTSO. Now go out of my way to go to Roy’s on Route 1 by Ft Belvoir where the food and service are truly outstanding

Roy’s has always been my favorite fast food place. There used to be a few of these restaurants in Springfield but they have long been replaced by McDonald’s. I’ve always been very appreciative of the Roy’s at this location and I hope they are here to stay for a long time. The Gold Rush chicken sandwich is a personal favorite of mine and is always delicious. The fixings bar, as others have alluded to, has everything you would want for your sandwich. The food is always fresh, delicious, and is always fast out of the kitchen. Their cheeseburgers/bacon cheeseburgers are very good as well. Pair them with a side of fries, or if you aren’t in the mood for those, a baked potato, macaroni, apples, baked beans, or a side salad should do the trick. The staff has always been courteous and helpful when called upon.

I purchased the Groupon for this location. When I realized that the menu prices are 40% higher than what they should be, I realized what they were doing with the Groupon. They then refused to honor the terms of the Groupon and I handed them the food back. No thanks!

Service is rather quick and friendly. Can get busy at times. Chicken is rather dry but the sides and the burgers make up for it. You get to customize your sandwiches anyway you want to at the bar. Good selection to chose from. Price is reasonable. Just make sure to double check your bag for everything you’ve ordered before you leave.

Come here frequently! Service and quality is always good. I always get the cheeseburger meal, love that I can add my own toppings at the fixins-bar. Does not disappoint:)

Gets crowded and parking is tight since this is a popular shopping strip. Still have the traditional fixin bar. You can get salad or baked potato instead of fries for your side. Roast beef was dry, as well as the chicken. The fixin bar helps any sandwich! Tables were dirty.

Still as good as it ever was. Fast food, but good fast food. Fried chicken is always just right and the burgers and chicken, roast beef sandwiches are always good with and assortment of fresh toppings available at the fixins bar. Good fries and other sides. Breakfast is also worthwhile, certainly better than other fast food joints. Clean place with a friendly staff. So glad Roy’s is still around.

So I decided my time is way more important then explaining to the manager that he isn’t doing his job. If you can keep your sauce dispensers clean so they don’t splatter on people then you should be replaced. Seriously what happened to being concerned for the customers. They only get one star because you can review with negative or no stars

Roy’s is fast food done right. I have gone to this location numerous times and it’s always very clean, the staff is super friendly, and the food is always good. Best part about Roys, the fixins bar. You can load up a sandwich with whatever your little heart desires. If you’re looking for a good meal at a reasonable price this is the place to go.

PUMPKINMILKSHAKES! Made with Edy’s ice cream, I picked one up when I was lured in by the sticker that was placed outside their door! It was delicious — I saw one of the employees just put in 6 – 8 scoops of pumpkin ice cream with milk and just whir that cup up! It was creamy and delicious and had a great pumpkin spice taste. Yum! +the seasonal Pumpkin Milkshakeeeeee

Roy Rogers offers more comfort food than your typical fast food joint. I always enjoy their fried chicken, biscuits, mac & cheese, and fries. This restaurant consistently appears to be clean, while the service is prompt and friendly. I still have to try their breakfast items and dessert menu…

Way more options than most sandwich or fast food places, and much better service and cleanliness. The employees are really nice and efficient. The manager was walking around asking diners if everything was okay with their meal and if they needed anything. When was the last time you got that at a fast food place? Also, there is ALWAYS someone cleaning the floors and tables here. In addition to burgers and chicken, they have warm roast beef sandwiches and entrée salads. If you don’t want fries, there are side options like fresh fruit, baked potatoes, baked apples, salad, cole slaw, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and baked beans. There is also a DIY toppings bar for the sandwiches and salads, which includes options like red onions, salsa, peppers, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and lots of sauce options. Definitely more options than most fast food spots or Subway for someone with dietary restrictions or trying to eat somewhat healthy, and a good place to bring picky(and not-picky) kids.

This is a favored childhood visit– I was happily surprised to see there were still some open in the capital area– where I’m from they’re long gone. But not much has changed– greasy yummy bad for you fast food. Better than Mickey D’s or BK, but still fast food. It’s a nostalgia visit for me.

I took a bit of time pondering the possibilities if all that occurred at the Roy Rogers was simply happenstance. But it wasn’t. I found another Roy Rogers on Rt-1. I went in, walked straight to the counter and I asked them«Where is Roy?!» The initial puzzled look on their face soon melted into anger. The Manager on duty began to make his way from behind the counter. He stood in front of me, a massive man with thick arms like tree limbs, littered with tattoos and scars. I recognized one of the tattoos immediately from my sociology course in college. This was no ordinary man who stood before me. The tattoo symbolized that he was a person of high rank in an ancient society. He spoke. «What do you want sir?» Sternly, yet betrayed by the quiver of fear in my voice I said«I want answers. I want to know what happened to all the other Roy Rogers restaurants. I want to know what happened to Roy.» I then flashed the rusted key before him. He cowered back in fear, covering his eyes. «Leave, «he said, «and search online… you will find your answers on hoohle.» I realized that in the ancient dialect G’s are silent. When I returned home, I did a web search and found a Roy Rogers restaurant locator. Something about the locations made me wonder what would happen if I triangulated their positions. I found that all points intersected in a small town in Pennsylvania. I packed a bag, grabbed the key and began to drive. It was at a small rest stop that I realized the gravity of what I have gotten myself into. I went into a small diner with a service station. The woman behind the counter was friendly and served up a nice slice of blueberry pie and coffee. I asked her how many hours away was the small town. She smiled and said, «It’s not too far. Just make sure you het enough hasoline.» I froze as smile began to curl upon her lips. (to be continued)

My daughter’s doctors office is next door to Roy’s so we’ve made it our breakfast treat after every visit. The staff is friendly, restaurant is clean, fried chicken is awesome, breakfast has a lot of variety. I have no complaints. The staff is always super helpful and friendly, which is so rare in a fast food establishment. I notice that a lot of the guests who come always seem to be reliving some sort of childhood memory which makes coming here especially fun but I do love that I am making my own little one’s childhood memories after each doctor’s visit. :)

I go to this Roy Rogers a few times a year(usually for breakfast). It’s a little out of my way, but when in the mood for a fast-food breakfast, there’s no better choice. I try to avoid mentioning other establishments in my reviews, but in this case, I believe the best way to describe Roy’s is to compare it with«McKing». Compared to «McKing», this Roy Rogers… (1) Has much fresher food. (2) Has more menu diversity(but avoids gimmicky burgers that McKing seems to like) (3) Has a more friendly and professional staff. (4) Is much cleaner. Roy’s is still a fast food place, so don’t expect the world, but when you’re in a hurry and in the area, you can’t go wrong.

Well, what can I say? A Roy’s is a Roy’s! The only thing that could make them any different is the staff… Luckily we got a good one tonight. Food was awesome and the staff was very friendly and I will definitely return to this place. The only downside to Roy Rogers is that there aren’t enough around.

I didn’t know there were still Roy Rogers restaurants around! How did I live without their Bacon Cheeseburgers for so long? After my first nostalgic visit I returned with my kids and explained that this is my favorite fast food restaurant. They were a bit scornful of the«Fixins Bar» and the«Holster of Fries» but after they ate they changed their tune. The fries are very good also. Thicker than the McCompetition’s fries.
