I have tried this place a couple of times at different times of the day. Both times had great food! My first visit I wasn’t sure what I wanted and the waitress made a suggestion and I went for it… The Chuck Norris. I am sure glad I did. You can tell everything is fresh and made when ordered. The other thing that was really good is the spinach and artichoke dip. It is a bar so it can get loud but I expect that. The service is great but you cannot be in a rush. Take your time and enjoy!

I got another great deal on some coupons. I had never heard of Chicago Blu before, but then again I don’t spend much time in Frankfort. We went for dinner at 7pm on a Monday. It was early for their local crowd, which was perfect for us. There was a bunch of customers around the bar, but otherwise only 3 or 4 other tables of guests around the dinning area. I prefer being at restaurants a little off rush time, gives us a chance to talk without screaming at each other, and we get fast service. I had scoped out the menu via ahead of time, being as I’m 4 months pregnant and it’s a little harder to pick a suitable meal. I decided only the Turkey Bacon Ranch Wrap and I was looking forward to a side of corn on the cob, Yum! Only problem is, they recently changed their menu and hadn’t updated restaurant.com’s listing; no corn on the cob… Oh well, a side of fries it is(I know, not healthy for baby). My husband ordered the Steakhouse Cheddar Burger. We enjoyed a nice conversation while we waited a little while for our food. Checked out the place, they have a center bar, with a pool table and some arcade games, and outdoor seating area, and a stage for live music or maybe karaōke. Our meal was delicious, of course I had to take some of it home. The bill worked out perfectly, we had to spend $ 20 to get use the certificate and our subtotal came out to $ 20.42. Couldn’t have planned it better.

Eeeeh. Mediocre food leaves for a mediocre review. I dislike it when you pay to much for food not up to par. Depressing, I know. Although, the nacho’s were worth mentioning. They were unique, but not unique enough to make me come back. The music made me so sleepy. Very friendly staff though. I’ll pass and opt to go elsewhere next time.

Chicago Blu hosts trivia every Wednesday night, and my friend who is training for Jeopardy rarely misses a week to hone her quiz show abilities, so I occasionally join her. We generally have the same waitress each week, who absolutely rocks. She checks in very consistently, and is always prompt with our water requests as the evening wears on. I wish the female staff weren’t made to wear the short shorts get-up, but mainly because the uniform choice doesn’t really mesh with the rest of the joint. The cocktail and martini specials are pretty decent, the beer selection is so-so. The food can be hit-or-miss, simply depending on what you order. I wouldn’t recommend the turkey panini, but the nachos are pretty amazing. The trivia could be better. In my opinion, you have to be something of a smarty-pants to run a trivia contest, and in this area, the staff can fall short. That said, winning the contest(and the gift certificate prize) more than makes up for the cost of the evening. Bottom line — I come because my friends do, but I probably wouldn’t otherwise.

This place is right on… I have been here several times and I am usually impressed. It’s always dead and I never go late night so maybe that’s why? Either way I enjoy the food and drinks when I come. I came here with my mom once for a Sunday lunch. She had a bloody Mary and I tried the skinny girl margarita — they were like $ 3 each or something ridiculously cheap. My mom ordered the cheeseburger and fries and she loved it, the thing was covered in blue cheese which is her favorite. I had the steak salad — phenomenal. I couldn’t believe how good it was! I also came here with a group of 4 for lunch and we had the pulled pork nachos for an app. They were so good, I love pulled pork nachos and Chicago Blu can certainly make them! I am originally from the area but live in Chicago now so I don’t get to come too often to eat here but when I am visiting I love to come have lunch here.

Very surprised at how good the food was. Bought a Groupon just because it was close to home and it was a new place to try. Read online that it was voted to have the best burger in the Lincolnway area in 2011. My husband and I had the steakhouse burger and it was amazing! My husband can be a picky eater who is not easily pleased and he said it was probably one of the top 5 burgers he’s ever eaten. The ambiance wasn’t the greatest — wouldn’t go out of my way to take friends here as it has a «hole in the wall» feel(yet the waitresses dress like they work at Hooters), but I’d definitely go back for a burger and beer. Our waitress was nice and checked back in often, but she made a few odd comments after we presented our Groupon(«I think I paid more for your meal than you did!»). Obviously we tipped her 20% of the pre-Groupon value, so she didn’t lose anything. Don’t expect to be dazzled by an upscale bar, but be prepared for some kick ass food!

Not a very nice place-the previous owners were much nicer and cordial. These new guys are jerks and what i even worse is when they have specials they don’t always recognize them-boo to this place.

Unhealthy eating is a specialty of mine and I found the grilled cheese pot o’ gold at the end of the cheddarainbow. This mother is a grilled cheese with fried mozzarella cheese sticks buried in the middle. This succulent creation is just oozing with cheesy goodness. I could only eat about 5/6ths of the sandwich… my belly was full.

Two words… TRAINWRECK! Where to begin. I bought a Groupon for this place. I had eaten an early dinner here about a year ago and loved the food and atmosphere. Last night was a hot mess. We got there around 7:30pm. There was a band playing in the back restaurant area. The front bar, for some reason, was closed to diners. The manager should be demoted to janitor. This guy is oblivious to customer service. There is a couple ahead of us waiting to be seated. The manager asks if we were together(all 4 of us), we said no. The manager says, «Great»! Well, not great. He seats my friend and I at the band’s overflow table! We were right next to the speaker, part of the table had the band’s crap on it and we were forced to sit with some very drunk, obnoxious guy who beat the hell out of a tambourine all night. Now, I might have tolerated this if I wasn’t eating, but to have dinner with a speaker blaring in your ears and some drunk stranger who just sits down because he thinks he’s with the band, then has the nerve to ask for one of our beers, is unacceptable! If the manager would have said, I’m“m sorry, the only table I have is next to the band or had tried to seat us at the bar, or something, I might have understood. But, this jackhole just wanted to seat people and then disappear for the rest of the night. The service was slow. It appeared they only had 2 waitresses and this place was packed. I will say, the food was very good. I know I had a choice to say, we’ll wait for another table, but that wasn’t going to happen since the place was filled mostly with friends and family of the band. Because the food is good, I would give this place another try if I’m in the area but it will definitely be on a night when they do not have a band or for lunch. I will be writing a letter to the owner letting them know of this experience and that they need an experienced person seating customers.

There were only a few other people in the place when we go there! We ordered 2 salads and a wrap which should have been out in 20 minutes tops! We waited almost an hour! Why, because there is one guy in the kitchen! Not to mention the food wasn’t that great either! Wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t go back!

We had a gift certificate for here and thought we would try it! We loved it! Try the boss hawg appetizer! Yummy! Great food, great prices, and cheap liquor! $ 3 martini’s and $ 10 buckets. At least when we went!

Eh, this place was ok. Way too crowded and not ideal for a band. Once they came on, the place seemed way too cluttered. Not my fave but ok if you’re under 30 ;)

Great bar in Frankfort! Friendly staff and killer music –from local bands to karaōke nights! I was there last month to see The Last Envy… and Im going out that way this Friday Feb 26th to hear the band with a group of friends! The bartendars are so much fun — especailly when the crowd is lovin’ the band.
