Three of us stopped by for an 11 a.m. breakfast while attending the annual Franklin Park Railroad Daze. Couldn’t ask for a better location, just a block south of the train line. I was here for the first time last year and that was before me Unilocaling. It was good then, but now? OUTSTANDING!!! We told Erica our server, we had a train to catch and she was terrific. Better yet was the spectacular food with amazing-sized portions, great taste and reasonable prices. If this place was in Milwaukee, we would be here every week. I had pancakes($ 4.50), three jumbo«manhole cover-sized» smothered in powdered sugar. You can get pancakes almost anywhere, but these only at the Crystal Fountain. Now if you like Omelets, my friend Andy ordered the«Complete Omelet»($ 7.75) and not only did Erica need both hands to bring the plate, but it was so «exceptional» he ate the whole thing. Where was my camera when I needed it? Amazing! Bob too ordered an Omelet, but not so complete. He too finished the hefty portion and agreed Crystal Fountain was a terrific find. In fact it is now 9 p.m., and I’m still so full I haven’t had dinner. I like to say, «Never cheat your stomach» and at Crystal Fountain, it seems that is impossible!

Service was great and the new menu is better than before. I highly recommend for everyone in town to try this out.

Love the food here :) The servers are very attentive and profesionals! Prices are good and fair enough comparing to other places that I’ve been to it & I absolutely love the New Breakfast menu :) Can’t Wait to try the Fruit Crepes again or the delicious Pancakes :)

From the kitchen to the front felt like they were doing just enough to get by. Food fell flat for the most part.

Nice enough. Good food. I’d go there again if I happened to be there, but would not go out of my way to get there. If you do go there, you might want to check out the Mexican bakery across the street, Arcely, I think the name is. We did and it was good.

For price it’s good … Taste is ok … Atmosphere is dark and gloomy. Bring in some music or liven it up a little.

We tried to eat here on a Saturday night. At 7 o’clock we pulled on the door and it was locked. I could see the cook in the kitchen and someone at the register. There was a huge painted on sign that said they were open until 9. I guess not. I can’t understand why they were closed so early.

I ran into this joint threw a Google search while looking for good spots in the neigborhood. I noticed people where raving about it so I figured we’d check it out. Man this place is great. I got my food in less than 15 minutes. The food was nicely portioned and most importantly it was cheap! For $ 20 we got a huge Belgium waffle, a meatloaf sandwich, a rueben sandwich, fries, mashed potatoes, and 2 large soups. It was enough food for three people and for $ 20 that was damn awesome and the food was really good. I gave a 4 out if 5 only because even though the café was huge, it looked boring as heck in there. It was dark, gloomy and a bit pastey. Other than that, the food is damn good.

I walk by this place twice a day 5 days a week, and yet I have not stopped in since it opened. I guess I, like most people in Franklin Park, either eat at home or drive out to the suburbs to grab a bite. What a shame. I have said this before and I will say it again — nothing gets people to try new places like a Groupon can. And so today was the day. I have been to this location before, back when it was a kitschy restaurant called White Jasmine. The layout is still pretty much the same, but they added a fountain and updated the décor. It’s nice. A Unilocaler mentioned in one of the filtered reviews that the prices are high — are you for real??? You can get a decent sandwich with soup and fries for under $ 7. Unless you’re used to ordering from the McD’s $ 1 menu, in which case we have nothing to talk about… Anyway, my guess is that this place gets most business on weekday mornings — they have a ton of options for breakfast items and they are all very reasonably priced. Same with lunches — wraps, sandwiches, salads, all good prices. The service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive and the owner stopped at our table to make sure that everything is okay. You don’t get that kind of service at most places. I thought the food was decent and at these prices, it’s definitely worth a try. You should check it out.

The food is amazing! Finally a restaurant in this location that will hopefully survive! Great place to take kids. The breakfast and lunch service is outstanding, but the dinner service is a little slow if you have kids with you(that’s why only 4 stars). They do make up for it with a complimentary piece of cake for each customer though. Their takeout menu is the same as dine in and is really good. We will definitely go back again soon, we have been there 4 times in a month already!

Fabulous food and service. I had been hoping for a good restaurant in this area and I found it. This place has excellent prices for an incredible quality and quanity of food. Highly recommend Crystal Fountain for eating in or taking it to go. My family and I all give it two thumbs up! We will be back very soon.
