Best bagels anywhere. Open 24 hours. What more can you say? Plus, their sandwiches are top notch. Always a long line(even at 2 am) but it goes quickly. If you’re in the area, you have to make a stop.

There’s really not much else to say about A&S. Straight up the best bagels on Long Island. Fun story, I’ve only ever been at A&S at insane hours for a bagel(like, always after 9pm for some reason), but they’re open 24/7, the bagels are delicious and decently priced, and there are a ton of options for regular sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches. Bring cash because it’s cash only. I get tradition and whatnot, but really, this is probably the only thing I could say they need to fix. It’s 2016, get with the electronic payments! There’s an ATM inside, but its one of those generic ones so you probably have to pay a fee to use it.

Meh… not the best bagels ever. I’m sorry I don’t see the hype. Only hype is they are open 24⁄7. Long story short… coming home from JFK after a flight from Aruba you are hangry. And I mean you are famished! So what do you do? Starve to death or eat crap food? Me? I voted on some White Castle Jalapeño Cheeseburgers(I will take 4 please and deal with the pains later!) hahah. But a few others in the family were gagging at the WC idea. So off to A&S we were taken to by our gracious Shuttle Driver. I felt like I should’ve been drunk with the way I housed this flagel(they call them flats). I was so damn hungry but by the time I got home from my aunt’s I still felt a little hungry. Plus it wasn’t like the flagel I’m used to. Oh well. Though I’ve got two pluses for A&S. 1. The flat was fresh and still a little warm. So that’s nice I wasn’t eating stale bread. 2. The double chocolate chip muffin my mom and I split the next afternoon as a treat was good. Will I be back? Maybe who knows? Maybe I’ll have another late flight and I’ll have the pangs.

Whenever I want a good breakfast sandwich or bagel I go here with out a doubt. You get what you pay for here and the flavor and quality of the breakfast is great. They have everything you can think of for breakfast here and lunch. From a variety of spreads to a great variety of bagels to choose from. Make sure you are not in a rush when you go in here though because there’s usually a line.

Awesome bagels, breakfast is the best, there is usually a line out the door but no worries it does go very quick, Only advice the new employees need some more training on making sandwiches you can tell the difference with the sandwiches between the new employees and the older crew! Still the best though

The bagels here are absolutely delicious. There is really nothing more to say other than that it’s worthwhile to travel from valley stream to Franklin square on a weekend morning to wait in a line to buy these really special bagels.

This place was ranked in the top 20 bagel places in the country. I call BS: A&S is number one. Although this place is cash only, they have an ATM inside. They make up for it by being open 24⁄7. Now the women who work during the morning hours mostly suck and can’t construct a decent sandwich, so unless you’re getting a buttered bagel or bagel with cream cheese in the morning hours, don’t expect a well put together sandwich. However, the guys working the graveyard shift are pros. Ask for Smiley, he’s a consummate professional. I usually get the cheddar cheese bagel or the asiago cheese bagel with scallion cream cheese toasted. My personal favorite though is the«Genny» on a cheddar cheese bagel. The New York Times called it, «a playful, yet mysterious little dish.» If I’m feeling extra slutty, I get bacon on top of that bish. Wash it down with an iced coffee. Their iced coffee takes a dump all over Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, which in my opinion is still very good coffee. All in all, A&S Bagels will leave a taste in your mouth so good, one can only compare it to a light sexual orgasm. 5 Stars.

I love this place I’ve been coming here since I began working out near here, first of all its open 24⁄7 so thats great for my early gym days, they have fresh bagels which are made fresh right next door and they do sell fast so there’s never a concern for freshness here, they have all types of cream cheese including Oreo flavor, chicken, tuna, egg salad and much more and oh yea they have a grill too so you can get your breakfast sandwiches here, even where there’s a line(Sunday mornings) you can still get in and out of there fast

Definitely the best bagels, bialys and flagels(flat bagels) in Nassau county. Great customer service at 4:35 am(Open 24 Hours is huge for us card carrying members of Nocturnal Insomniacs Anonymous) with the bakers dozen or 13 items for $ 10.55 or just 81 cents for a bagel or bialy or flagel. 5 of my very picky and particular buddies in Suffolk gave a unanimous Thumbs Up to the quality and great taste as they had seconds with KauFees Light and Sweet at 8 am. Cash only. Winner Winner Bagel Dinner or actually Winner Winner Bagel Breakfast in this case. Love A & S. Just about 500 yards east of N Hyde Park Rd on the south side of Hempstead Tpke.

A&S looks like a hole in the wall(haha, bagel joke) from the outside, but the bagels are consistently fresh and delicious. The wide variety of bagels and specialty cream cheeses definitely live up to the hype.

These are hands down the best bagels on the island. There is a big variety of cream cheeses and bagels which are always fresh. There is normally always a long long(but it’s worth the wait), the parking situation can be a pain and is cash only. Those are the only draw backs, but I still give it 5 stars because the bagels are that delicious.

The food is good. That’s the only perk. The staff is ATROCIOUS. Some of the rudest customer service I’ve ever received. Today I overheard what appeared to be the boss and several employees discussing how they should punch someone in the face. No, I’m not kidding. I come here because the bagels in the area are not good. But the outrageous prices and the rude staff are drawbacks.

I should really being going to bed but that can wait. I know some of you will be looking for a breakfast spot in a few. A&S bagels is that place if you’re in the area ! Such a huge assortments of amazing bagels,(DUH). But all jokes aside probably one of the best bacon egg and cheeses you’ll ever have comes from that establishment. There’s usually a line in the morning but don’t fret, there’s plenty of cute girls to make the time go by faster. I mean that literally, there’s usually a staff of 10 or more working on your orders. Bring cash, the place doesn’t take card. And oh yeah, it’s 24 hours(game changer)

— Cash Only!(There is an ATM in the store if needed) — Great Scallion Cream Cheese, but their specialty cream cheeses are a tad expensive(though delicious). — Gets super busy on weekend mornings — Know what youre going to order before you make it to the counter! — Sandwiches are also pretty rad — I’ve only had a few(I’m back to being a vegetarian now and they are all full of meat). — Nutella and Peanut Butter on a plain bagel = delicious. But no one behind the counter seems to know how much it costs, so I always get charged a different amount(usually within a range of 50cents). — So convenient to get a bagel in the middle of the night. — Sometimes, you’ll arrive at just the right time to get a fresh, hot bagel! — I’d recommend eating bagels right away because the quality/freshness deteriorates fairly quickly.

I am not an expert on bagels, unless you are talking about the variety known as the«plain bagel», the best example being piping hot, extremely fresh, lightly cooked and slightly sweet and malty tasting. Believe me, I have searched for years for that style of bagel. The plain bagel at A&S, which I purchased last night and consumed this morning from my freezer, is incredibly delicious. When I go to A&S it is usually 11 p.m. or later but the plain bagels I’ve bought have been ALWAYS hot and fresh and much better tasting than renowned(why??) bagel stores in Manhattan like Ess-A-Bagel or Murrays. The plain bagel here is just about the best I’ve had in years, comparable in every respect to the iconic bagels sold at Bagel Oasis on Horace Harding years ago when that store was in its prime. The workers at A&S have been nice and friendly. They have patiently gone through the bin to find perfectly cooked lightly colored bagels for me. When I’m in the neighborhood, I will certainly stop there again.
