I’ve only had occasion to visit HH Gregg at Coolsprings Crossing once(or any other H.H. Gregg for that matter), and I only purchased a single, relatively inexpensive item. But on that one occasion, an employee came through for me when I really needed it. At the beginning of 2015, I had accidentally left my HP laptop’s power cord at home in central Alabama, hundreds of miles away. With my laptop getting lower and lower on power, I called various«big box» stores for a replacement, only to be told they didn’t have one(or in the case of Electronic Express, to be sold a power cord that could supposedly fit any HP, only to discover that it didn’t fit mine, despite it being a new and common model). So I called H.H. Gregg of Coolsprings, and got Russell on the phone. I told him that because I was from out of town, I was only going to have one shot at obtaining the right cord – circumstances wouldn’t permit me to return my purchase and try another one if the first didn’t work. Well, Russell assured me they’d have the right item, and he was better than his word: When I arrived, I found he had not only already tracked down the correct cord, but he had reserved it for me behind the customer service desk. That way, not only did I not have to hunt for the cord, but there wasn’t even the possibility of the store selling the last one in stock before I arrived. Furthermore, at his own suggestion, Russell found an outlet in the store to test my new cord with, guaranteeing I was leaving with something that worked. I can’t recall any other occasion when a purchase at an electronics store brought me such mental relief! Obviously, that was but a single visit; I’ve never purchased a big-ticket item from H.H. Gregg, nor have I required their installation services. But, based on that one visit, if the need arises, I’d certainly consider taking more of my business their way. Now it’s my policy not to give five stars after a single visit, but due to Russell’s performance I’ll make an exception.

I had an excellent experience with this HH Gregg, which was even more notable after the horrible service I received from Asus. I purchased an Asus notebook here and It worked well for two weeks, did its first update and stopped holding a wireless connection. After five hours over a week on the phone with tech support, they tell me to send it in and they will fix it. Mandatory shipping requirements cost me $ 25 at kinkos — got it back ten days later with the same exact problem. Within a week, all mandatory windows updates started failing and locking up the system. I had to do a system reset twice — another 3 hours on the phone with tech support over two weeks. Finally they tell me I’ll just have to pack it up and send it back to them. I said, ok but now I want a new unit. This one is twelve weeks old and has only worked for two of them! It’s clearly a lemon — either refund my purchase price or issue me a new notebook that actually works. The Asus«manager» said they just couldn’t guarantee that. Unbelievable. I called HH Gregg out of desperation, and they felt so badly about the experience that they offered me the opportunity to return and buy a new notebook — totally against policy since it was well past thirty days. John and john are the two managers I dealt with — I purchased an HP same day and am thrilled. Just hope HH Gregg gets credit from the pitiful group at Asus corporate. They made a fan out of me.

Warning everyone. Do not trust hhgregg for any purchases or installations. Their expertise and customer service is DISMAL!!! I’m now in the midst of scheduling the 3RD service appointment for them to try and fix problems from their improper washer and dryer installation! First they installed the dryer plug wrong(screwing down through the cord insulation causing the cord to spark). I naively believed them when they said it must be a problem with my plug/fuse. So after bringing in an electrician to fix said problem, that professional actually discovered that it was the severed cord that hhgregg installed. So I then had to have hhgregg come back and fix their dryer installation. Thinking I was out of the woods, I started to use my washer and dryer only to find out my washer was ALSO improperly installed! All of my clothes were coming out steamy and warm indicated that the installers switched the hot and cold water lines. Are you serious? To make matters worse, the«manager» that is supposed to be helping me fix this is pretty incompetent at best. This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had. Please stay away from hhgregg!

Unfortunately there is no 0 star to rate for this pathetic store and people who work here. I bought a dinning table from here. I took it home and started fitting and one leg dint even fit in the table slot. I called the store to ask what should I do. I was transferred from one line to another 4 times and finally store manager started speaking to me. And this guy, John was the rudest person I have ever seen. With a straight voice he told me «You have already purchased and we cannot come there and see that. If you want, you can call the manufacturer else return the piece and take back your money» I was stunned with this kind of reply from a store manager! I called the store again to ask few questions and again I was transferred few times and finally somebody put me on hold and dint even bother to speak to me. All I request you guys is, please try to avoid these guys as far as possible. There are many many other stores who will provide good deal with excellent customer service. The people here don’t even know the value of a customer. This was my first and last visit ever to HH Gregg!

I bought a new washer/dryer set here, and was pleased with price and service. Dennis, our salesperson, did a great job of explaining price vs. value, and helped us decide on a quality set that met our budget and performance expectations. I would definitely return to HH Gregg for a major purchase.

I purchased a very large, expensive TV from HH Gregg on a Friday. I expressed interest in having it delivered the same day and noted I was willing to pay more to make it happen. Their delivery truck was already booked at 104% for that day so I said Saturday would be fine. I was called at 6AM on Saturday to confirm delivery — which I had already confirmed the night before — ridiculous. The TV was delivered at 8am on Saturday; the delivery men were extremely loud, despite the fact that it was apparent no one in the house besides me was awake. They were friendly and courteous, I just thought the noise level was a bit absurd… throwing the box around the room and all the pieces inside. They set the TV up, it looked good and they left. Unfortunately, as I was watching TV(not 30 minutes after it had been delivered) it started malfunctioning. It continuously turned itself off and back on every 45 seconds-1 minute. I tried watching a DVD to make sure it was actually the TV that was malfunctioning and not the cable — the tv kept turning itself off. I called HH Gregg immediately and was treated as if I was crazy because«they’ve never heard of that happening before». They said they would send a team to look at it THATDAY and bring a replacement TV just in case. I waited for a call all Saturday and hung around the neighborhood in case someone showed up. No one ever did. Every time I call HH Gregg to get some sort of idea of what’s going on, everyone blames someone else — «oh well the warehouse is the one who is in control now» «I told my manager about this yesterday» etc. Guess what? I don’t care whose fault it is — you are the same company in my eyes and I’m going to be annoyed with ALL of you. I was awoken at 6AM on Sunday by a call confirming an appointment for 8am on Sunday. Sure enough, someone showed up, looked at the TV and told me what I already knew — that there was a problem with the TV and I would need a new one. However, he did not have a replacement TV. SO here I am, on Monday, with an appointment window of 9am-12pm. It’s 12:43 and no one has shown up or called. I am at the point of asking for a refund and taking my business elsewhere. This is absolutely ridiculous. Especially considering the amount of money that was spent.
