Good food and good service. Outside bar is awesome. We also like the back room by the fireplace for sit down dinners. It can get loud at times especially in the front bar area.

We were up at the Minerals Spa and Resort. Checked out the reviews on Unilocal for the Irish Cottage Inn and stopped in for lunch with my Wife, my Son, my Daughter in law and my Grandson. The menu had a lot to choose from; but the waitress told us the days specials and Irish Special and we all selected from the Irish Special Menu. I had the Guinness Beef Stew, the other orders were the Shepherds Pie; Corn Beef and Cabbage and Fish and Chips. All were Amazingly delicious. If you’re in the area you gotta stop in for a bite… Oh yeah they also have a great choice of Beer on Tap.

I’ve been coming to this place since they first opened– it used to be the Fone Booth(best prime ribs anywhere, back in those days with Nick and Diane at the helm) and I ate there often, as well. The Irish Cottage is pretty much hit-or-miss(as stated in numerous reviews below) if you don;‘t stick with the main menu. Fish and chips is always good(and I really have NOIDEA what the few people that bashed the fish and chips are talking about– very very good fish and chips) as is the Shepherd’s Pie. The Corned Beef Reuben is absolutely massive– it’s a two-meal sandwich. Steaks and burgers: meh. Crazy specials like Mexican and Italian? Really? in an Irish-themed pub? Steer clear. Would you order Wiener Schnitzel and Spatzle at a sushi joint? just sayin’… Drinks can be a bit pricey if you’re not careful; I have also been over-billed(examine your bill carefully if you’re staying for a few drinks at the end of your meal) That being said: the barmaids are usually great and always pretty prompt.

We(very) recently had our wedding party at the Irish Cottage Inn. The food and the service were beyond excellent. The kitchen provided us with all home-made appetizers and dinner. I think every member of the staff came up to offer sincere congratulations. They made every effort to make sure that this occasion was special. It appears the other diners got the same service. I would not hesitate to recommend the Irish Cottage Inn to all, both for parties, and every day dining. Thanks!

Prime Rib was horrible. Don’t think my dog will even eat it. May be a good place for a cold beer. I’m Irish and it tastes like my grandmothers cooking. She was great at opening can and heating stuff up but that’s about the extent of her cooking.

Love the thatch! I’ve been coming here since it opened. Never get tired of it. Extensive menu with a bunch of traditional Irish cuisine. Possibly the best corned beef in northern New Jersey. Try the Reuben. You won’t go wrong. Nice specials both food and beverage wise. Extensive liquor selection includingy personal favorite, Irish Whisky. Eat at the bar or in the lower or upper dining rooms. The building has some local history. Check out the bowling alley. The one criticism I have is the parking… not enough room.

Hair in food. This is just awful. The girls in the food prep area were playing with their hair in plain view of everyone. The health inspector should make them wear hairnets.

Went last week with 10 people we sat on the deck. The new outside dining is beautiful. The place was really busy. I waitress was very friendly. The music outside was really nice. Our food came out in s timely manner considering the place was full. OEverything was great. We will definitely be returning soon.

So after driving by this place for the last couple of years my wife and I decided to drop in for an early dinner. for the area we live in it was a nice place, waitress was super friendly and fast. I had the Sheppards Pie which was very good and filing and my wife had a chicken sandwhich which was also very good. Beer was cold and overall nice experience.

Third visit was worse than the second. Food was pretty gross. I had the fish and chips which was soggy and bland. My date had a salad that was absolutely disgusting. It seemed to have canned and spoiled raspberry on it. On top of that there was an obnoxiously loud DJ annoying everyone. You don’t need the volume turned up all the way in a 10×20 room. Service was good and the prices were reasonable, but the food was really not worth it. Could be our fault for ordering a meal that was out of the normal pub food range. Maybe I’ll go back, but just for drinks and maybe a burger. I’ll bring lower food standards.

We always enjoy the fish n chips and never disatisfied when trying other dishes such as the stew or Gaelic Chiken and my husbands new favorite is the chicken curry! definitely delishious every time and well within budget even with a Smitwicks and a Blue Moon! service is friendy and prompt and we have always had a pleasant dining experience. Also enjoy the personlized and historical décor. quite the charming place and we’ll be returning life long customers. we appreciate a great place to eat locally with consistently great affordable food. and fun. dont miss trivia night!!!

Food was nothing to brag about and service was horrible. Drinking draft beer, sitting at the bar and we repeatedly had to ask the bartender for another drink. We literally waited 20 mins for a round. For what you will be paying I would definitely look elsewhere.

Impeccable food and service! Never have been disappointed here. The beer is always cold and the food is very fresh. I recommend the bangers and mash or the shepherds pie! Delicious!

In a town abundant with subpar food… This little patch of green is wonderful! Me and my wife walked in to a warm welcoming environment with perfectly poured Guinness and a Corned Beef Reuben that rivals most we’ve tried! Definitely recommend and if we’re ever in town again we will return.

It wasn’t really worth the money we spent. I used to really love the Irish cottage but I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. $ 70 for something that wasn’t really that special. $ 15 for a salad is pretty high around here especially for a chef salad. 4 or 5 pieces of turkey. 1 egg cut up and a few slices of cheese. Not even a large portion of actual salad. Disappointing to say the least. I finished the whole thing and was still kind of hungry. The waitstaff was super friendly — but there was someone who was clearly not staff with a child coming out of the waitress area(kitchen I assume) which can be seen from the dining room which kind of put me off. Overall it was ok but I feel like I could have went to any local pizza/Italian joint and got the same meal for a third of the price. Nothing special that will bring me back again.

This place is delicious! Walked in here after archery and hiking. The food hit the spot. French Onion soup was flavorful and tasty. The fish and chips had the right texture. flaky fish, crispy dough on the outside and soft and tasty inside. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal!

Went on Tuesday night. Had wings special, with teriyaki, honey bbcue, and buffalo sauces. Very good. Fish and chips excellent. Special Irish appetizer was excellent. Small chopped salad with balsamic was good too. Very nice place inside.

On Thursdays, they have a double hobby night for trivia and karaōke. Of course, its also steak night and you get a discount on your choice of cut from Prime Rib to NY Strip to Filet Mignon. I had the Prime Rib rare with potato and veggies, soup and salad and it was delicious and cooked just right,. The trivia was a blast, as a quiz guy from Joe Trivia was there and asked challenging questions. Everyone was on their best behavior and did not cheat. At 10pm, karaōke started and it capped off a great night of fun with the NFL and MLB on other tvs too.
